An unexpected murder. A suspect with a reason. The power of unwavering belief.

A murder has been committed in an office in Jerusalem. That’s for sure. The rest is not as clear-cut as it might seem.

Asaf languishes in his cell, unable to tell his story even to himself. How can he tell it to someone who elicits such fear within him?

His colleague, Nathalie, has studied Beauty and the Beast. She understands its moral. Maybe that’s why she’s the only one who believes in Asaf, the suspect. But she’s new in the company – and in the country. Would anyone take her opinion seriously?

She coerces her flatmates, Yarden and Tehila, into helping her investigate. As they uncover new trails, will they be able to reverse popular opinion?

In the end, will Beauty’s belief be strong enough to waken the Beast? Or, in this case, can Style waken the Solitary?

Before I begin my review I quickly have to thank Rachel’s Random Resources for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour and for graciously providing me with an eGalley of the book to read for my review stop today.

I should also mention that these are my honest and sincere thoughts about the book.

I know I probably say this more than enough times but I love being part of blog tours because I love discovering a new author and I am so happy that I was able to get on the tour for Style and the Solitary. I checked out the backlist she has and I am curious about her other books. I know I definitely want to check them out now. I really enjoyed this one.

Our main characters are Nathalie and Asaf. They both work in the same IT office. Nathalie has been there for roughly three months and she is taken back by the quiet Asaf. He is quiet and keeps to himself. Nathalie is determined to get him to come out of his shell and even more so when she arrives at work one day to discover a colleague was murdered and the prime and really only suspect is Asaf. He was caught holding the murder weapon. But did he really do it?

Nathalie is determined to discover who the killer is because she knows that yes he is a loner but he would never do something like this. It’s not in his character. I loved that as the book progressed we discover why Asaf kept to himself and in the real world social anxiety is a real thing. I knew someone in my life who struggled with this on a daily bases and it’s not fun to see this personal struggle.

Asaf is surprised when he discovers Nathalie believes in him and she will do anything to clear his name when it seems like everyone is quick to convict him of a murder he possibly didn’t commit. Will they be able to solve it before the killer gets away with murder?

I can’t speak for Miriam’s other books as I have not read them yet but if this is anything like her previous books I definitely want to read them. I loved Miriam’s writing and how detailed she is in this world-building and her characters. She makes her characters seem like real authentic people.

I definitely breezed through this rather quickly because I was hooked from the get-go trying to figure out who the killer was and all my guesses were wrong and I have to say that I loved that. Not knowing who it was until almost the end of the book. I also loved how determined and caring Nathalie was with Asaf and you couldn’t help but love these two characters and want nothing but the best for them.

Author Bio –

When Miriam Drori says she loves to perform, people don’t believe her. When she says she’s not shy, they think she’s delusional. The fact is, things ain’t what they seem. A witch called social anxiety took away her ability to be spontaneous, but it didn’t change her exhibitionist nature. You need to watch her dancing or speaking before an audience to understand that.

Fortunately, she has found an outlet for her thoughts in writing, a solitary activity with multiple recipients. She never doubted her ability to write, but only in recent years has she managed to gather her views and observations together into papier-mâché balls worth throwing far and wide.

If you ignore the witch, life has been good for Miriam, especially since she made the decision to move from the UK to Israel. She has a wonderful husband, three lovely children, and a delightful house. She loves to read, travel, hike, and dance. She has worked in computer programming and technical writing, and now enjoys the freedom and versatility of creative writing. And she believes passionately in raising awareness of social anxiety.

Before I begin my review I quickly have to thank Rachel’s Random Resources for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour and for graciously providing me with an eGalley of the book to read for my review stop today.

I should also mention that these are my honest and sincere thoughts about the book.

I love discovering a new author and I am so happy that I was able to get on the tour. I checked out the backlist she has and I am curious about her other books. I know I definitely want to check them out now. I really enjoyed this one.

I have to say that it’s been a while since I read a psychological thriller and I am so happy I read this to jump back into the genre. I managed to read this over a two-day span. I could have read it in one sitting but to be honest I can’t read these kinds of books at night because my brain works overtime and I have the worst nightmares. With that being said. I really enjoyed Other People’s Lives and would continue to read more from this author. I think if you love psychological thrillers then you would love this one. It’s fast-paced with all kinds of twists and turns.

So, I have to tell you right away that my review will be short and somewhat brief only because if I saw much more I will literally give the book away.

Our main character is Sophie, and she is seeing Dr. Thacker who is a psychiatrist. She is seeing him because she is trying to deal with her husband’s disappearance, Jack, as well as the possibility of her losing her mind because she is paranoid she is being watched. Is she really being watched?

As the story goes Sophie tells us that Jack, disappeared while he was on an expedition in the Arctic. Jack traveling all over the world for his job is nothing new for Sophie but the is time she really doesn’t want him to go. She needs to talk to someone and at first, you think Dr. Thacker might be that person but he is not what he appears. Does he cross the line? Does he continue?

Another person that is introduced into the storyline is Johan and he is quite the character as well. I was curious how his storyline would play into the book.

The book is told in POVs of letters to Jack from Sophie and Dr. Thacker.

I definitely think that is a 5-star book read for me because I am still thinking about the book and wondering where I missed some of the clues.

There were so many times I was speechless and didn’t know what to say or think and for me, that means the book is just that good. It was definitely hard to put down and when it ended I was like WTH. I am somewhat good and figuring things out in books and other times I don’t see the writing on the wall. I definitely want to pick up a finished copy of the book to reread. I am sure it will be much easier to reread a physical copy of the book instead of an eBook.

Power can take many forms, but sometimes the greatest magic comes from inside you.

Asha has been a servant for the cruel Duke Bryce for as long as she can remember, and when he married Queen Ilma of the Wind Kingdom, she was dragged to the castle with him and his daughters.

Now, the death of the queen has thrown the castle into panic: if her son, Prince Aither, doesn’t marry before his 18th birthday, the throne will go to Duke Bryce.

Prince Aither knows he must choose a wife, and he’s resigned to his fate. But Duke Bryce has his own ideas about who his bride should be, and if he gets his way, no one will be happy.

Asha is used to watching everything unfold from her place in the kitchen, but she soon finds herself on an unexpected quest set to change her life forever.

Meanwhile, Prince Aither must find a way to make the best of what seems like a hopeless situation and use his powerful magic as a force for good in the kingdom.

The Glass Stone is a magical tale of hope and love inspired by the traditional story of Cinderella. Sometimes, just a little bit of magic is all you need to change the world.

Lose your head in the clouds with Asha and Aither: scroll up, and click “Add to Cart” right now.

Before I begin my review I quickly have to thank Lola’s Blog Tours for allowing me to be a part of  The Jeweled Fairytale Retellings this week and for graciously providing me with the ebooks so that I could read and review them. I reviewed The Chaos Daughter on Monday,  The Order Revived on Wednesday and The Glass Stone is today. You can see the whole turn schedule HERE.

I should also mention that these are my honest and sincere thoughts about the book.

The Glass Stone is the third book in The Jeweled Fairytale Retelling series, The first two books The Chaos Daughter and The Order Revived are a duology and you need to read those books together but you can read The Glass Stone as a standalone. It takes place in the same world as the previous books but the story is it’s own.

The Glass Stone is inspired by Cinderella, which just happens to be one of my favorite fairytales of all time. As I was reading it I definitely could tell it was inspired by Cinderella but yet it was unique in its own way.

The book is told from the POV of Asha and Aither. Which was perfect to get both sides of the story.

Our main character is Asha and she is the servant of a cruel Duke. He then marries the Queen of the wind Kingdom. Since she is the Queen he moves himself and his girls (Lyra and Sera) with him. Asha is forced to go with them. Things are a bit better for Asha in the Queen’s castle. It’s like she can breathe and relax a little. Although now that the Queen has died Asha and everyone in the castle is walking on eggshells. Asha has seen the difference in how she was treated to that of the Queen’s servants.

The Duke is just like the evil stepmother from Cinderella. He despises Asha and works her to the bone. He reminds her constantly that she is a servant and nothing more than that. Thankfully not everyone is like that.

The Queen has one son of her own, Prince Aither. He is grieving the loss of his mother. He discovers that he has a short period of time to get married to retain the Wind Kingdom and if he fails the Duke will get it. Will the Prince be able to find his wife before the time is up? Or will the Duke get all this power? He already has the perfect wife for the Prince. But will that work out?

This was another pretty quick read that I read in one sitting. I tried to take my time because I knew this was the last one until the next book comes out. Although when I look at Amazon I do see some novellas that are either out or are coming out that I plan on picking up. I do have to say that I think this is my favorite of the three books so far.

Children will love the rhythm and rhyme that are hallmarks of the beloved
author duo of Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 as they follow the adventurous
armadillo through nighttime fun as dawn approaches.

Bill Martin Jr was the beloved author of more than three hundred books for children and teachers, including the classics Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.

Michael Sampson taught kindergarten through fourth grade before meeting fellow literacy expert Bill Martin Jr at a conference in Tucson, Arizona in 1978. They established a lifelong friendship and collaborated on many bestselling and award-winning books for children, including Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3 and Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?

Reviews:

“A wonderfully musical nighttime romp with stunning illustrations.” –Matt de la Peña, Newbery Medal-Winning, New York Times Bestselling
Author

“Beauvois, whose elaborately textured, highly dimensional surfaces recognize the paper collage legacy of Eric Carle and Lois Ehlert, creates a
series of striking contrasts to the repeating text’s simple rhymes. As the mammals appear, ready to “romp and play till the night is done,”
they’re shown in deep jewel tones with patterning reminiscent of a Missoni sweater… tagging along with this self-possessed, graphically stylish critter
and chanting its name as it leaps, digs, and dines makes for a memorable outing.” Publishers Weekly, starred review

“For a romping night in the life of a roly-poly armadillo, pick up Armadillo Antics!”–Parade Magazine

“This short rhyming story about a night in the life of an armadillo is cozy and soothing. Beauvois’s collage-style art, especially the armadillo
curled up inside its next, gives Eric Carle vibes. A collection of eight facts on the final page will fascinate kids and grown-ups alike.”Parents
Magazine

Before I begin my review I have to quickly thank Rockstar Book Tours for allowing me to be a part of this book tour and for graciously providing me with an eGalley of this upcoming release.

Imagine my surprise when I saw the email for this blog tour. I instantly had to sign up for this tour because Bill and Michael’s books were my son’s favorite picture books when he was little. He loved sitting on the couch and having them read to him. We would read them numerous times a day.

The illustrations are wonderful in the book. The illustrations are all in a collage style. I also loved that they included armadillo facts at the back of the book.

I thought the rhyme and rhythm of the book were perfect. This was the perfect length for it.

With armadillos being nocturnal animals, we follow one on his nightly journey from playing, jumping, eating, and so much more. I think kids would enjoy this and discovering more about an animal they might not otherwise know about.

I think this would make an excellent book to add to your collection.

Only Order can balance Chaos, but Lan must first find a way of getting to the revered Chaos Daughter… and that’s no easy task.

Launch head-first into adventure with Lan in a story of courage and passion: scroll up, and click “Add to Cart” right now.

Before I begin my review I quickly have to thank Lola’s Blog Tours for allowing me to be a part of  The Jeweled Fairytale Retellings this week and for graciously providing me with the ebooks so that I could read and review them. I reviewed The Chaos Daughter on Monday,  The Order Revived today and The Glass Stone will be on Saturday. You can see the whole turn schedule HERE.

I should also mention that these are my honest and sincere thoughts about the book.

Since The Order Revived is the second book in this duology I will be keeping my review short so that I don’t give away any spoilers. You do have to read The Chaos Daughter before this for the storyline to make sense.

This was another pretty quick read for me and I did enjoy reading it. I definitely want to read Sara’s other books and continue this series.

The world has been in chaos since The Chaos Daughter came into power. The world needs a balance of the order to function properly. We can’t live in a world of chaos all the time.

Our main character is Lan and she is harboring a secret that could put the family in danger if the chaos guards find out. Lan and her family have the rare magic of Order. One day her father gets word that he is being recruited to report for duty with the chaos guards. Lan loves her father very much and doesn’t want to lose him so she tells him that she will take his place. She will make herself look like a boy. Will Lan be able to pull it off? Can she restore Order to the world?

This is inspired by Mulan. I have to admit I have never read but I definitely want to pick it up and try it out.

Before I begin my review I quickly have to thank TBR and Beyond Tours for allowing me to be a part of this blog tour. I was graciously provided with an eGalley of the book so that I could read and review it for my tour stop today. I should also mention that I was in no way influenced, these are my honest and sincere thoughts about the book.

Grow Up Tahlia Wilkins is a debut middle-grade novel.

When I got this email and was reading it over when I spotted gives modern-day readers their own version of Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret with a fun romp about friendship, puberty, and growing up I knew I had to sign up and pray that I got accepted for this tour, Like many girls I read and loved Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. I can’t recall how many times I have read the book. I know I wanted to reread it and went looking for my copy of the book and couldn’t find it so I ended up ordering a new copy. So I will be rereading it when it comes in.

This was such a fun and quick read that I devoured it pretty much in one sitting. Thank goodness for long holiday weekends.

I definitely recommend picking this up for your middle-grade-age daughters to read. After I read this I actually went ahead and ordered a copy of this book to add to my collection because it’s definitely one that I would reread again.

Tahlia is a twelve-year-old girl who is going into the eighth grade in the fall but all she is focused on is having the best summer and making everyone forget about the mishap of last summer of showing up to the most popular boy’s pool party in a one-piece bathing suit with board shorts and goggles in hand. She has waited all year for this and she is prepared. Or is she?

We all know the best-laid plans will most likely go wrong and this is the case for Tahlia because just 24 hours before this pool party, Tahlia gets a huge pimple on her chin then gets her first period, and to make matters worse her mother is out of town on a work retreat. She doesn’t know what to do and doesn’t want her dad involved. So who else can she call but her best friend Lily.

The only thing that really bothered me was Tahlia’s mother didn’t prepare her or have items on hand for her or even explain the products. Although I could relate because all my mother did was give me a book on puberty to read and when the time came bought me a box of these god-awful pads. But then again if she did have this talk with Tahlia would we even have this book?

I couldn’t help but want to read to see what hijinks the girls would get into, what would happen at the pool party, and would Tahlia understand the changes that will happen. Will she see things differently now?

Tahlia is every girl in the world and we have all been there and can relate to her. Everything Tahlia was trying to do was relatable. It’s hard to figure out what pads or tampons to use. What’s even scary is the warning on the box of tampons. It’s a tough decision to make especially if you have to do it on your own.

As parents, we just need to keep reassuring our daughters that nothing about our bodies is embarrassing as Tahlia’s dad told her.

At the age of 18, she finally persuades them to let her venture across to the mainland… but what should be an exciting shopping trip quickly turns into much more than she bargained for, and events unfold that will change her future forever.

Nastasya has always been taught to hide her Chaos magic, but she’s never understood why.

Her past has always been a mystery to her, but her trip to the mainland leads her to question everything, and she knows she must learn more about her birth family and the power she possesses.

The Chaos Daughter is an action-packed adventure of self-discovery inspired by the tale of Anastasia. Question everything, and trust no one: what Nastasya’s about to discover will change the world forever.

Before I begin my review I quickly have to thank Lola’s Blog Tours for allowing me to be a part of  The Jeweled Fairytale Retellings this week and for graciously providing me with the ebooks so that I could read and review them. I will be reviewing The Chaos Daughter today, The Order Revived on Wednesday, and The Glass Stone on Saturday. You can see the whole turn schedule HERE.

I should also mention that these are my honest and sincere thoughts about the book.

I should mention that The Chaos Daughter and The Order Revived is a duology. These are not standalone books.

I have to admit that this is outside my normal genre as it’s a fantasy but once I read the synopsis I was instantly hooked and I had to sign up for the blog tour. Sara is definitely an author that I have to check out. She has numerous books out that are adult and young adult reads.

The Chaos Daughter is inspired by the tale of Anastasia.

I have to start off by saying I love the cover of the book. I need to find out if this is available in physical book format because this is something that I would definitely reread again.

Our main character is Nastasya and she has lived a very sheltered life on a small island with her over-protected adopted parents. When she finally turns 18 she manages to convince her parents to let her go to the mainland with her friend Lina. With hesitation, they agree to let her go but with stern warnings. The girls have a plan of doing all they need to do and get back home before dark. Things are going smoothly until they cross paths with the Order Priests and what happens next will definitely change the course of this journey.

Nastasya was always told to hide her gem on her neck and to never show anyone. She doesn’t really know the significance of it until this journey. No one has ever told her about it. This world it’s ruled by order and nothing else. Nastasya will discover her past and what this power really is. Will she be able to get the revenge she needs or will the power over take her?

If you plan on reading this I suggest you pick up The Order Revived as well because The Chaos of Daughter ends in a cliffhanger. I was so happy that I had the second book because I didn’t realize it was going to end like that and I had to jump right into the second book right away.

I have to admit that when I read ebooks I never look at how much is left to read especially if I am enjoying the book. With that being said I should tell you that it was a quick and fun read. I managed to read this in one sitting. One of the times I am thankful for not sleeping well and was up early so I decided instead of being on my phone I would pick up my iPad and read.
