A Morning of talking and shopping with a awesome friend

Today I was super lucky and happy to get the chance to hang out with Lucy from Moonlight Gleam and Simply Blushed. We finally were able to confirm a date that would work for the both of us. During the week if I meet up with anyone it has to be in the morning because of Michael and school.

I picked Lucy at up the metro (subway) which is close to me and then we went to our regular breakfast place.

This time I remembered to take pictures. I got the waffle with fruit and Lucy got I believe the Mesh Mash Omelette. Mine was delicious and this is what I usually have but sadly I only manage to get about 2/3 through it before getting filled.

Lucy graciously gave me a stack of books which I am super thrilled to read as some of those have been on a wish list of mine for awhile.

The books are:
~Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
~Envy by Elizabeth Miles (we trade my arc for her finished copy)
~The Compund by S.A Bodeen
~The Complete History of Qhy I Hate Her by Jennifer Richard Jacobson
~Nothing Special by Geoff Herbach
~Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton
~Then I Met My Sister by Christine Hurley Deriso
~SEnd by Patty Blount
~She Smells the Dead by E.J Stevens
~Into The Deep by Lauryn April

Then she gave me this super cute owl tote bag which I love. I was so thrilled to have gotten that. Those goodies were inside the bag. I was literally like a kid in the candy store pulling the items out.

I got an assortment of book marks. I love the Book Scent ones. I managed to hide those from Michael because he would want the root beer one until after I got the pictures done.

The loose items in the bag were a package of organic cotton wipes, two packs of facial wipes (which always come in handy for nights I am feeling too lazy to remove my make up), three plastic containers to put items in, a lip balm, two L’Oreal Paris nail polishes (330 Fleur de Lis & 260 Wishful Pinking and two Sephora by OPI (Lost without my GPS & How Cute Is That?)

Inside this cute little gold bag is a bar of soap (which is something special and I will be passing it on to someone so I can’t say whats on it or who its for just yet) and Foot Works Overnight Cream.

Lucy also gave me a ton of perfume samples cause she knows I love perfume. I got: Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir,  LAdy GaGa Black Fluid, La Vie est belle by Lancome, maison martin margiela untitled, belle by Rihanna, Parfum D’Extase by Marchesa, , Outdorr Shower Fresh by Clean, Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf and Angel by Thierry Mugler

I was blown away by this make up bag. It was filled and of course packed much nicer then it is now because Lucy was telling me how to use certain products that I have never used before. It was funny because when I was opening it in the car Lucy kept saying that I wouldn’t get it all back in but I did.

All this was packed into that little cosmetic bag. No word of a lie.

Top Row:
ELF complete coverage concealer light and medium, ELF Eye Transformer (this will change the look of your eyeshadow say if you have a fall palette you can instantly transform it into a summer look) and finally a selection of shimmer eye pencils by elf along with a black brightening pencil.

Middle Row:
eye lid primer & mineral eyeshadow primer, Yves Rocher sexy pulp mascara, elf regular and waterproof mascara, & elf lengthening & defining mascara and elf baked bronzers in maui, st. lucia & los cabos

Bottom Row:
Elf baked blushes in the shades: pinktastic, passion pink, rich rose & seyenne by orglamix, eye shadows in the shades: blue moon, ocean dream, nouveau neutrals, teal dream & punk funk (love the colors and I can’t wait to use them) and then ELF conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15 in the shades: mellow melon, blissful berry, romantic rouge & nice and neutral and then rimmel sweetheart tulips.

Wow I am so appreciate all these awesome goodies Lucy. You were so generous and sweet. Love it all and I can’t wait to try them out.

After that we headed over to the mall to do a little shopping. I actually had a list and I am happy to say I only bought what was on that list and pretty much stuck to the budget I had set for myself. The following pictures aren’t in the order that we shopped.

Bath & Body Works was actually the last store we shopped in because I knew that the bag would be heavy. I bought the foaming hand soap in all the spring/summer scents. They were 7 for $25. I got First Bloom, tangerine, apple, pear, strawberry (x2) and inside the owl sleeve is a coconut one. Love the smells and I can’t wait to start using them.

Yves Rocher was actually one of the first places we stopped to shop in. I managed to find my Apple Delights on sale for $1 so I stocked up and bought 8 bottles. They are the mini ones. I also managed to get some freebies since I have a points card for the store and I got two cosmetic bags (a small one and a bigger one) and earrings with necklace.

The earrings are really pretty and since I don’t have pierced ears I will be passing them on to someone who does.

Here is the necklace which I really like. I can’t wait to wear this.

After that we went into Lush since its close by and I picked up two bath bombs. The white one is Sakura (When the blossoms burst forth in spring, it’s a tradition to take a picnic and bottle of sake and enjoy the beauty. Noriko, one of our product inventors, hails from Japan and this beautiful Bath Bomb represents what it’s like to be in a park while the breeze blows through the blossoms in the trees. Instead of heading to the park, lay back in serene waters while the gorgeous scents of mimosa and jasmine envelop you to give you the joyful feeling of springtime. Sakura: simple, elegant, and enduringly beautiful bathing.)

The blue one is Big Blue (Take a dip into the deep blue sea of our Big Blue Bath Bomb for an inspiring getaway to the seashore. Lavender is instantly relaxing on the body and mind, and lemon oil helps to keep you afloat. For a truly authentic experience we’ve added in some of nature’s finest ingredients – sea salt and seaweed. Packed with minerals, salt helps the body rid itself of toxins, while seaweed softens and soothes your skin. Just lay back and sail away to shores of uncluttered thoughts, softer skin and warm, blue seas.)

Then finally the second to last store we shopped in was Sephora. I went into buy the Smashbox Photo Finish. I had received a sample of the hydrating one and loved it and said that I would purchase this. I love how it makes my skin feel with make up on. Then at the cash Lucy was getting this Korres package and she was saying what a deal it was so I had to grab this since it was only $12. There is a lip butter and a hand lotion.

I redeemed 500 points and picked up ths Buxom Shimmer, Shine and Smoke set. Inside the box was:
– Divine Goddess Luminizer in Venus (1 oz)
– Buxom Lash in Blackest Black (0.2 oz)
– Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Sugar (0.07 oz)
– Buxom Waterproof Smoky Eye Stick in Silver Sword (0.015 oz)
I have never tried Buxom and I am excited to try it out.

Wow what a whirl wind day it was but it was so much fun. Love hanging out and shopping with you Lucy. Can’t wait to do it again.

Finally Its Happened!

After what seems like forever to organize I finally got to meet up with Tina from Bookshipper this morning for breakfast. Since the last time I met up with Tina alot has been going on with hockey and stuff on my end and then when I thought I had some free time Tina went to Mexico so we finally were able to nail down a date to meet up.

Sorry I have no breakfast shots since we both were pretty hungry and it got eaten fast. Although I did have every intent on taking pics but next time. We met at our regular little spot near Tina’s house and we both realized that at one point we needed to meet a little earlier since it tends to get loud and busy. Which I honestly think is the story of our lives isn’t it Tina?

If you remember from previous meet ups we use to do that cute little tea shop but ended up ditching it because it started to get busy and loud. Hmm wonder if we are the ones attracting business?

Anyways it was so nice to sit and talk with Tina. We talked about her trip to Mexico, my hockey dilema, Christmas, shopping, my fascination with beauty box subscriptions, books (nothing good in the stores), New York City, our upcoming BEA trip, bloggging, her work contract that just never ends, etc. You name it we probably talked about it.

It was so much fun to sit and talk with Tina and I truly enjoy your conversations. We always have great conversations and one of the things I love about Tina is that she tells it like it is even though she is crazy LOL

So I loaded down Tina with a ton of magazines ( click here to read about what she said about our meet up ) and a little Christmas present I got for her which I knew she loved right away. We didn’t discuss doing a gift exchange but Tina surprised me with just the same. Thank You Tina. here is what I got from Tina:

She gave me two tealight candle holders (one red and one orange) which I love and are sitting on my mantel and being used right now.

As you probably know by now I love bath products. I now have a new item to add to my daily routine and its something I have never tried before, its Yves Rocher ( a Quebec company) Hamamelis maxi super-soft  shower gel. This is Tina’s favorite and she raved about it at breakfast so I am excited to try it out and it smells so good.

I also got a bunch of Publisher Weekly magazines. I love reading them.

Tina also gave me these bath balls which I orginally forgot to put in the above picture because I have it added to my box of items I want to use this month.

Tina, thank you so very much for your gift and I can’t wait to use the bath stuff.  Hopefully I will be seeing you sooner rather the later.

Spending Time with a Friend and Shopping (Epic Haul) Part 1

Before I get into my meet up with a local blogger (you will find out who it was in a few minutes) I thought I would share with you the things I bought before meeting up with her.

I recently went into the Dollarama to purchase a few things and made my way up the health and beauty aisle and I noticed they had a few new things such as the 5 pack of Algemarin foam bath packs (I got this in one of the beauty boxes and really liked it and picked it up), this peel off mask (its been awhile since I have done a mask so I thought I would try this) and the last thing is the Gum stimulator. I needed a new one and this has been my favorite one
I also made my way to Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart) to check to see if they had the Benefit lip glosses out yet. This is part of their holiday promotion and was told they can sell out pretty fast so I was happy to see that they did have it.

I also picked up those two bath/shower puffs because the last ones I bought were terrible and nothing is worse then having a crappy puffy.

I am loving the Bourjois Paris make up line (Thanks Lucy for introducing me to it) and figured I would add this Correcting Concealer (Radiance & Anti-fatigue) to my routine its in the shade 51 light radiance.

I was thrilled to see the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in the shade 905 Red-y Response. I loved my purple shade and was looking for something for the holidays and I think this is it.

I noticed this in the bargain section and its the Nailene Espressions nail art gellies and thought it would be fun to use when I just wanted a different look to my nails.

Another item I am loving is the La Roche Possey skin care line and I spotted the kit for only $5 and thought I would start adding the sensitive items to my face now that its cleared up.

Since I paid for these items at the beauty counter I got two perfume samples, Skull and Roses by Ed Hardy. One is eau de parfum and the other is  eau de toilette. I love those spritzer bottles and wished more perfume samples would come like that. Don’t you?

These are the shades. I love Benefit products and the lip glosses were something I have been wanting to try so now I can. Has anyone else tried any of these shades? Which should I try first?
This is what the gellies look like. I have never used anything like this before so I am curious to see how they will look. Has anyone else used these before?

Finally to the reason of this post. This meet up has been a long time planning (mainly because of school and work) and I can’t believe how long its been since I last saw her, The blogger/friend in question is Lucy from Moonlight Gleam

I realized while we were in my car that we didn’t take a picture at the restaurant so we quickly snapped one in the car. (This was after numerous attempts) We both liked this one the best.

If you haven’t checked out Lucy’s blog Moonlight Gleam’s and her newest blog Simply Blushed you should definitely check them out.
Once again we forgot to take pictures of our food so this is when I was almost done my waffle with fresh fruit. It was really good.

After breakfast we decided to head over to the mall which was next door to do some shopping. Which was a planned event.

The first place we hit was Bath & Body Works. We both had a coupon for there and it was spend $10 and you got a free signature collection item. So I picked up these mini candles (2 for $5) in the scents of Hot Buttered Rum and White Barn No.1 nutmeg and spice. These two scents smell delicious. The free signature item is the Winter Candy Apple shower gel. I also grabbed these two mini candle holders. ($3 each).
The next place we went into was Sephora. I have only been there a few times and this time it was actually nice to go into the store with a person who knows their make up. Lucy mentioned picking this up when she was in Vegas this year and there was actually a few things from this that I have been wanting to try so I picked it up. Its the Give Me Some Lip lip sampler. I also got a Clarins daily energizer cream gel sample (5ml).
I love the whole packaging of this.

Inside (top) Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment (I have been eyeing this the times I have gone in but never could commit to purchasing it).

From left to right:
Sephora Glossy Gloss in Precious Pink, Bite Beauty in Vintage, Laura Mercier in Baby Doll, Hourglass in the Child (I love the packaging of this lip gloss) and Tarte  in Hope. This has a peppermint smell to it and its matte lip tint.
Our last planned stop was Lush. I planned on buying a bath bomb but as you can see I walked out with a little more then that.
Father Christmas bath bomb (This is the one you’ll want to use on cold, dark winter nights to relax in the tub. Spicy clove bud oil, vanilla absolute and a dash of brandy combine to comfort and warm your skin and mind. A dash of red glitter lights up on the water, the shell melts away, and that’s when you discover the inside of the bomb is bright green. How festive!) and the other bath bomb is So White (Our favorite fizzer returns with a fresh makeover! This year we were inspired by Holi, a traditional Indian festival in which people throw colored powders at one another to celebrate the end of winter. With this in mind, we redesigned So White to be thrown into your tub just like a snowball. Once in water, So White dissolves to reveal a bright pink center and an enticing appley fragrance. Our inventors brewed up a soft, fruity and floral scent with an enchanting blend of bergamot oil, neroli oil and orange flower absolute, for bathing happily ever after.)

In the black tub (charity Pot)  is a hand and body lotion and 100% of the sale is going to Kids with a Hope. I thought this was a worth while cause. http://kidswithahope.com/ and I found out at the cash that if you keep these pots you can redeem 5 of them for a free mask. This is Lucy’s favorite mask. Since this only $5 and the proceeds are going to a cause I think I might go back and purchase some more.

This last stop at Yves Rocher was not planned but when we walked by on our way to Starbucks for coffee I saw the front window and had to go in. If you know me, you know my love of apple scented items. I picked up some of the items in the Apple Delight line such as Fizzy Bath cube, 2x 50ml bath & shower gel, 20ml eau de toilette and 100g soap. I love this.

So I decided to break up this post because other wise it will be loaded with photos. Part two will be the goodies I got from Lucy. Lucy was totally awesome with the goodies she gave me. So stayed tuned for that.

Spending Time With a Friend (Part 2)

As you know from my previous post that I met up with Lucy from Moonlight Gleam and Simply Blushed for breakfast and shopping. We of course talked about all kinds of things and its so nice having adult conversations without little ears listening in and interrupting.

No meet up would be complete without some kind of an exchange or swap. You will have to check Lucy’s blogs to find out what I gave her.

Lucy was super generous and gracious. I was in total awe. She had given me a sneak peek a few days before meeting up but I truly had no idea what I was getting. Please note that this post is going to be loaded down with a ton of pics so I hope you don’t mind. I thought it would be easier to share the pictures with you so you could see the products.

Inside the first bag was an exchange I did with Lucy for The Vicious Deep. She prefers the ARCs to hardcovers and I honestly don’t mind because as you know I don’t usually keep my book after I am done with them.

I was so thrilled to have gotten a Kabuki brush. This one is a body brush and I have been hearing some really good things about the Kabuki brushes so I am happy to have gotten the body one.

The other item was an olive soap from The Body Shop. I like the smell of this, this is something I have never used before.

The make up bag was filled with some amazing items as you will soon see.

This is the Elf Body Glow in the shade Glow. This adds a nice shimmery gold to the skin and I think this would be perfect for the summer. This is from the studio line. (Achieve a sun-kissed glow with this sheer golden body shimmer. The silky smooth and fine powder blends evenly and easily onto the skin for a lightweight feel. Use all over the body for a touch of radiance.)

The other Elf is the SPF 45 Sunscreen in the shade Sheer. The Studio line. (A portable loose powder sunscreen that can be worn alone or over any makeup for key sun protection. Shields against harmful UVA/UVB rays to prevent premature skin aging and sun damage. The soft translucent powder is infused with healthy ingredients such as Aloe Vera Extract, Grape Seed Extract and Vitamins A,C & E to help nourish and soothe the skin.)

The following was what was in the make up bag. I was like a kid in a candy store when I got home and went through everything thoroughly.
This is elf nail polish in the shade Royal Purple. As you can see from the bottle it looks like a dark purple but when I put it on it was more like a deep pink which I really love. I love the shade of this and this will be something I will be wearing alot. Its a really nice formula.
Lucy introduced me to Rimmel lip sticks recently when I was asking her what she liked and in a previous beauty haul I did she mentioned the Rimmel Airy Fairy one so I bought it and I love the color of it. Well this time she is introducing me to another Rimmel.
Its in the shade of 210 Fancy.  Sadly my pictures don’t do this justice but its a beautiful shade. Its like a dusty rose in color but on the lips its almost nude and shimmery. I really like this one to.
One the theme of lip sticks I got this elf Luscious liquid lipstick. I love that you can actually see the product and how much is in it.
Its in the Shade of Maple Sugar. This is another one that it looks darker in the packaging but when you put it on its a whole other look. Its was the same as the lipstick went on nude but was almost glossy like. There is a hint of maple sugar to it and I really like that and its not sticky like some glosses are.
This is an ELF Essentials All Over Color Stick. (This 3-in-1 Color Stick adds a beautiful glow to your eyes, lips, or face! Get gorgeous color that illuminates and instantly conditions skin for fresh and natural color all day long. Blend anywhere you would like to highlight and brighten like your cheeks and brow bones.) How neat is this? From left to right: Pink Lemonade, Golden Peach and Toasted. I love multi purpose items and this would be perfect for a night out.
Moving up from the lip items.I love Benefit products and was thrilled to get this. I have been seeing it in the stores but never picked it up. (Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a radiant glow. Use as a spot highlighter or delicately blend all over your complexion. Looks perfectly radiant on all skin tones. It’s the “supermodel in a bottle”!)
This is a matte eyeshadow in black from Annabelle. Its very pigmented as you can see.

Another brand I have been wanting to try is the Forever 21 make up line. This is the Love & Beauty line. I  really like the mix of this palette. So many great combinations you can do with this.
Can I just say how much I love those colors but at the same time they kind of scary me. This is by ELF and its the Brightening Eye Color in the shade of Drama. Its got white, silver, gray and black.
This is the same thing except in the shade of Ivy. There is a light green (almost mint like), forest green with a rust and copper like shade.
This is the Elf mineral shadows. I haven’t used alot of the mineral powders but I am excited. Sassy is almost copper like and Sweet is a pink one. I like both shades and can’t wait to play with them.
This is an ELF single eye shadow in the shade butter cream. Its a very nice golden color. That’s all the eye shadows I got from Lucy and now we will move on to the cheeks. They are all by ELF and are in the Natural Radiance Blush collection.
The first one is Innocence and its a pale pink. Very nice.
This is Bronzed and its more of a golden tone blush.
Finally this is Flushed which is almost a sheer pink but I think this will be nice to get a little glow or flushed look.

I love that I am getting to try ELF out because here in Canada if you want EL products you have to order online or go to Target in the USA. Honestly when I was in the USA this summer, I didn’t think to look to see what they had. Hopefully when Target comes to Canada they will carry this here.

Anyways back to the goodies, right? On top is the Elf translucent matifying Powder. This is silky and what a great way to set your make up.

ELF Mineral Booster (Achieve the ultimate, translucent “photo finishing touch” to your makeup, our Mineral Booster melts into your skin, infusing it with key vitamins A, B and E to promote healthier skin that’s noticeably silkier and smoother. Completely sheer and ideal for all skin tones, Mineral Booster gently absorbs oil and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores for a beautiful even finish. Wear alone or buff over our Mineral Concealer and Foundation to lend extra staying power and to achieve a professional and stunning porcelain matte look that will last all day.)

ELF foundation in the shade Beige. I have never used a loose powder foundation before so this will be my first time trying it out.

This has been something I have been eyeing on the Eyes, Lips, Face site and I had it marked down on a list to check for when I went to the USA again so I am happy that Lucy shared this with me. I can’t wait to use it. (Conceals under-eye darkness, blemishes and other skin imperfections with customized coverage. Brightens under-eye circles and neutralizes redness. Convenient size for on-the-go travel.)
How neat is this, its the Mineral Blemish Powder. (Heal and disguise blemishes with the all natural Mineral Blemish Kit. This translucent powder has active acne fighting ingredients like natural Sulfur, Tea Tree and Willow Bark to treat acne and prevent future breakouts while penetrating deep into the pores to control blackheads.) I know this will be used alot and its in the shade clear.
As you can see Lucy spoiled me with all these awesome goodies that I can’t wait to try out very soon. Not include in the pictures above was a nail file, the brush for the blemish powder, a pencil sharpener for eyeliner pencils and a pack of neutrogena all in one wipes. I have been wanting to try these out and I really like the wipes. This will be something I would repurchase.

Finally there was one more little goodie that Lucy included which is to the right. I’m not sure if I am allowed to share the contents right now with you but its something that Lucy is working on, on the side and I know it will bring her much success and I am happy that I am able to get a sneak peek and try them out before anyone else does.

Lucy thanks so much for meeting up with me and spoiling me with all these goodies. I am turning into a make fanatic now.

Hard to believe its been a month since I last saw you

For some reason it always feels like its been months since I last saw Tina from Bookshipper when it reality its only been a month. Thankfully we were able to get together today (Saturday) for breakfast at our regular little breakfast spot in Tina’s neck of the woods.

I was a little late in getting to the restaurant because Michael had hockey camp from 7 to 8:20am and then getting into Tina’s city I hit every single red light on my path. This was a first time thats happened. Thankfully I made it in good time and Tina was still waiting for me 🙂

We quickly ordered breakfast (wish I had taken pics) and I was pretty hungry and ate rather quickly and after breakfast we got to talk. I am really happy that we are getting back onto our monthly breakfast dates again.

I just realized that coming up shortly is our four year anniversary. Its hard to believe I have only known Tina for four years cause it feels like I have known her longer. Tina is an awesome blogger and an amazing friend.

Its always nice to sit and talk with Tina because we talk about everything and its no holds barred. No matter what Tina says she can never ever offend me. LOL This time was no exception we talked about our mailboxes, book requests, life, Tina’s job, traveling and of course BEA.

I am really hoping it will all work out in the end and that we can attend BEA again but if its not meant to be then so be it right? We had this discussion on how things happen for a reason and that things have been mapped out before we were born. I have to admit that I am a firm believer of that.

When it was time to leave I was a little bit sad because the time flew by so quickly and it just felt like we sat down to eat. It always feels like time flies when we get together.

So until our next meet up…….see you soon Tina.

Before we left we did an exchange and you can go to Tina’s blog to see what I passed onto her. Tina graciously passed on her copies of Publisher’s Weekly to me and I love this magazine ever since picking up copies at BEA 2010. I have decided to read these magazines very slowly. Thanks Tina for passing these on to me.

Spending the day with a local blogger

Today I was lucky enough to get to spend the morning with an awesome Montreal blogger, Lucy from Moonlight Gleam . Even though Lucy lives about 20 minutes from me it seems like we never get together nearly enough because we are always busy so I was happy when we were able to nail down a date to meet up.

The last few times we have met up for breakfast we have gone to Moe’s which is a fantastic place because it always seems to be quiet and they are never in a rush for us to leave. I wish I would have taken pictures to show you guys the food (next time) but I went with a waffle, with fruit (strawberries, kiwi, banana and these blue small beads -not sure what they were) and an english sause and it was so good.

It was so nice to sit and talk with Lucy because so much has happened since we last seen each other in July. It was great to catch up personally, we talked about books, blog content, politics (since we had a provinical election this week), the book signing we are going to next week and the problems we have encountered but happy to say its been resolved and finally a little bit about BEA.

We are talking about sharing a room for BEA in May. I am already in my planning stages and have started to put money on the side to go.

After breakfast we went to Chapters and browsed around the store. I have to admit I caved and bought a book but it was okay because Lucy gave me permission to (HEHE). I bought

The reason I bought this is because Rosemary Clement-Moore is coming to town next Saturday for a signing and I would love for her to sign it for me. I actually love the cover of this and didn’t realize she had this new book coming out.

After chapters we ended up going to Second Cup for coffee I ended up grabbing two drinks one was a pumpkin spice latte (although the one I had last week was much better) and as I was waiting to pay I noticed that they had a spiced apple cider so I ordered that to drink later. It was so decilious and I think this could possibly be my favorite fall drink. Thnkfully its not super close to wear I live and out of the way so I think I will enjoy it that much more.

While we were at Second Cup, Lucy told me that her post for the Simon  & Schuster Canada Blogger Spotlight was up and I was so happy for her. If you want to check it out click on this and it will take you to it. She is an awesome blogger.

Then after that we quickly ran back to Chapters because I wanted to check to see if they had this magazine RT Book Reviews because when I was in the US (July and August) I was able to pick up Sept and October issues and really enjoyed reading them but sadly they didn’t so we popped over to a magazine store and Lucy was so excited because they had books on sale so she was looking at them while I was looking for the magazine which they didn’t carry.

Before you know it, it was time to leave but before we did I got an amazing package from Lucy. She gave me the following books:

Birthmarked by Caragh M O’Brien
Glitch by Heather Anastasiu
Between by Jessica Warman
Broken by Kelley Armstrong
Enclave by Ann Aguirre

Thank you Lucy for the books. Not only did she give me books but she gave me some awesome goodies. I was like a kid in the candy store when I got home to open everything up.

This is a little goodie bag she gave me from her trip to Disney. It contains a pen, soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. I love how its all labelled Disney. Thanks so much Lucy love this and it was so sweet of you to give them to me.

Inside that bag there was also the above goodies. So many great things I am looking forward to trying such as the concealer and the lipglosses as well as the lotions.

It was an awesome day hanging out and I look forward to doing it again so. The next time I will see Lucy will be on the 15th of this month for the author signing.

You know I will be writing about that.

Meeting up with a blogger

On Saturday I finally got to meet up with Tina from the blog Bookshipper and it was hard to believe that we hadn’t seen each other since coming back from NYC/BEA in June and hoping with the fall that we can get back on track with our monthly meet ups again.

I met Tina at our regular little breakfast place and we feasted on this:

I love having breakfast at this little place. Good food and its a decent price. I am usually quite full afterwards.

During our meal we talked about books, requests, blogs, possiblity of going back to NYC/BEA in May and real life.  I always find in some way, Tina and I have alot in common. Which I think is great.

This time before we ate we made it a point to grab a new photo to add to our posts since its been a long time.

Tina took the picture and after numerous attempts we finally got this one.
Of course no meet up would be complete without an exchange of some kind, (be sure to stalk check out Tina’s blog to see what she got from me) but this is what Tina passed on to me:

~Best Health (summer issue)
~Best Health (September issue)

For Michael:
~#13 R.L. Stine Rotten School Got Cake?
~#15 R.L Stine Rotten School  Dumb Clucks
~#16 R.L Stine Rotten School  Calling all bird brains
