I probably begin each and every Fortune Cookie Soap unboxing post by saying that this is my favorite quarterly subscription box and honestly it is my absolute favorite subscription box out there. Please note that I am not sponsored by them and these boxes are purchased by me so this is my honest and sincere opinion.

I know the price is a little high (especially with the exchange rate) but its a quarterly box and for me this is the only subscription box I have and its one box I know I use all the products from.

The theme this month is Let it Grow. This box smelled so good when I opened it as it always does each time I get the box. This month there was a little something extra, there was so confetti like flowers that we can sprinkle on the ground and it will grow. Unfortunately I can’t do that right now because we have snow on the ground but I will make sure to do it this spring.

IMG_5112

This box came at the perfect time because its currently -7 but feels like -13 and all weekend its suppose to be below -25 so its cold and it feels like spring is so far away but with this box I can pretend spring is here.

The first item I always pull from the box is:

IMG_5122

This is Guardian of the Forest Fortune Cookie Soap. This just smells like spring to me. This smells like spring flowers with some lemon in it. Perfect for this cold winter weekend. The picture doesn’t do it justice when you look at it for color. Its sort of a yellow greenish color.

IMG_5117

Next up is the This Thing? OCD Hand Sanitizer. The OCD Hand Sanitizers are really the only hand sanitizer I carry with me because I love the scents as they aren’t strong and over powering. It has scents of orange, vanilla, a bit of a floral scent and citrus lemon. You would think it was strong and wouldn’t work well together but it does.

IMG_5114

Another item I love in the box is the Disco Tree Whipped Cream. The whipped creams are light and moisturizing and they smell so good. They aren’t greasy on the hands and it blends in really nice. This is blended with fresh picked berries, lily of the valley and sandalwood. I personally think that FCS makes the best whipped cream lotions.

IMG_5120

This is something new I think as I don’t recall ever trying this type of product before. Its a Pedi Bomb and its called Unless.  As you can see it broke a little in transit but its all good and it works just the same. With spring just around the corner its time to prep your feet for it. All you have to do is drop this in a foot bath and soak your feet. This smells so good and I was trying to figure out the scents and I couldn’t. If I could bottle spring up this would be the scent I would use. The card says its fresh spring water with a hint of algae flowing through hyacinths and water lilies, grounded by dirt and oakmoss, earthy woods & resins.

IMG_5118

This is the Oh Hair Shampoo bar and I have to say I have never used a shampoo bar before. I know I have a few from previous boxes that I never used and I think I need to try it because I have been hearing a lot of things about the bars. When I opened the packaging to smell I was hit with a scent I recall but can’t quite place it. Its got fresh peach nectar, shaved grapefruit garnished with a sprig of thyme.

IMG_5115

Something I have discovered this winter and I try to use more often is cuticle oil and this time FCS sent One C. I am excited to try this one out. This is another item that is perfect this time of the year with dry cuticles. I am really impressed with this and how my cuticles look after using it.  I like the scent of it. They describe it as warms woods swirled with patchouli and topped with a dollop of creamy vanilla.

IMG_5116

When i opened up the box and spotted this I had no idea what it was. Its Paradise Found. Its a petal perfume. I love it. Its a perfect light every day scent that isn’t strong and its perfect to drop in your purse to have on hand when you need to refresh up. Its got freesia, rose petals, fresh mangos & strawberries and its darkened by tonka bean and amber.

IMG_5119

Finally the last item is the In-Organic shower steamers. I love the shower steamers. Its like having a spa in your own house. These never disappoint. I have already used it and its got the scent of fresh squeezed lemons with a parsley scent.

This was another great box that I really loved. This is a box and subscription that I always use. Another great thing about the box is with each box you get a $10 gift card that you can use toward your next purchase online.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the above items the big launch is February 19th at 6pm PST.

The theme this month is Welcome Santa. This box smelled so good when I opened it as it always does each time I get the box. As you will find it this box is based on the movie Elf which happens to be one of our favorite holiday movies.

IMG_0009

The first item on the product card is Buddy- Fortune Cookie Soap

IMG_0001

Nothing says Christmas quite like a 31 year old elf with daddy issues.

With notes of holiday fruits, candy, crushed vanilla, and a hint of mint, this scent will have you feeling just as happy as everyone’s favorite elf!

This is one of six new Fortune Cookie Soaps the other soaps are Cotton Head Ninny Muggins, Yellow Snow, Shower Duet, FCS Cheer, and World’s Best Coffee.

As I was smelling it before I read the card, I was trying to place the scents and I couldn’t think of just one scent and all I can say is that it smells fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to start using this.

With every Fortune Cookie Soap you always get a fortune and that is what mine was.

All the  Fortune Cookie Soap is $3.99 (the ones listed above) apart from the  FCS Cheer which is $4.99

IMG_0002

The next item is Swirly Twirly Gum Drops OCD Hand Sanitizer. It sells for $2.89 for a 1 ounce bottle

Sticky and sweet, this gum drop scent will stay with you through all of your holiday swirling and twirling.

A sweet and whimsical blend of cotton candy, lemon drops, and fresh pear nectar, dancing with tart cranberries and black currants.

This is one of eight new scents: Cotton Head Ninny Muggins, Yellow Snow, Shower Duet, Buddy, Christmas Gram, FCS Cheer, and World’s Best Coffee.

We go through a lot of hand sanitizers and I was almost ready for a new one so this has been put into my purse. This was another one that I had a hard time figuring out what the scents were. Its a nice fresh clean smell that isn’t overwhelming.

IMG_0003

World’s Best Cup of Coffee Whipped Cream. The whipped creams come in two sizes 4 oz for $10.99 and 8 oz for $16.49. Sadly this particular scent is sold out.

You did it! Congratulations! You now smell like the World’s Best Cup of Coffee! Great job, everybody!

Vermont maple syrup, with just the right amount of fresh brewed coffee — gotta get in all those food groups!

This is one of eight new scents: Cotton Head Ninny Muggins, Yellow Snow, Shower Duet, Buddy, Christmas Gram, FCS Cheer, and Swirly Twirly Gumdrops.

This is delicious in smell. It does smell like a coffee that I would love to drink. I love their whipped cream body butters. They are so hydrating and there is no greasiness and it absorbs into the skin.

IMG_0004

The next item is Shower Duet Shave Oil. Sadly this is another item that is sold out. It sells for $10.99 and I am not sure what size the bottle comes in but I did see something about 2 ounce. I just got a little sample size.

Our brand new shave oil all but melts the snow off your chimney, ensuring Santa a clean landing.

Spruce and vanilla, fir and fruits, hyacinth and mint; we’ve created a shave oil that will warm up your coldest winter nights.

All natural shave oil, prevents nicks, cuts and razor burn.

I love the smell of this when I tried it and I have to say that this smells like Christmas. The only thing is that since this is an oil you do have to rinse your razor a lot but I do have to say its so worth it. Normally this time of the year shaving my legs is a task because my skin is dry and itchy from the weather but since using the shave oil I have noticed the skin was hydrated and soft.

IMG_0005

Since getting into the Fortune Cookie Soaps several years ago they were the ones to introduce me to the perfume oils. This one is FCS Cheer Perfume Oil. This is 5ml and it sells for $5.99

The best way to spend Christmas well is wearing this for all to smell.

Rich, buttery vanilla pound cake, over dark frankincense, patchouli, and cedar, create a scent that’s as warm and inviting as Christmas itself.

This is one of  seven perfume oils that are in the new collection. They are Cotton Head Ninny Muggins, Yellow Snow, Shower Duet, Buddy, Christmas Gram, and Swirly Twirly Gumdrops.

I love that it somes in a little spray perfume bottle because its so much easier to use. A little goes along way with the perfume oils so I always try to use a few sprays and massage it into my skin. It doesn’t go on oily like you might think. I really like the scent and its not over powering but I thought that you could smell more of the patchouli then anything else.

IMG_0037

The next item is Yellow Snow Bath Bomb. I couldn’t find this on the site so I am guessing that it might be sold out but upon further digging on the site I do see something called Yellow Snow Gelato Bath Bomb that has the same description as the product card. It sells for $5.99 for a 5.5oz ball.

9 out 10 customers prefer it to smelling like “Beef and Cheese” … but there’s always one in every family.

A juicy blend of ripe plums, whipped caramel, vanilla jasmine, and exotic woods, with just a squeeze of zesty Mandarin oranges. Soothing and revitalizing in one drop.

I used this right away and this was another item that I loved. I loved the smells of the caramel and vanilla jasmine. It was so relaxing.

IMG_0006

The Christmas Gram Face Plant is another new item in the Fortune Cookie Soap line. They sell for $5.99 for 0.5oz each, set of 3.

Watch out — our new scent might just have you singing “I LOVE YOU!” to virtual strangers at the office Christmas Party.

Warm steamy air, fresh with lavender and sea salt spray, mingle with the woody earthiness of sage and dark vanilla.

I recall using something like this years ago and loved it because it was a perfect way to clear out my sinuses to help me breath again and I found this did it for me. I used two at a time and I found that did the trick for me. I think this would be something I would consider purchasing since I noticed it did help with the conjestion.

IMG_0007

Finally the last item is Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins Dry Shampoo. A 2 ounce jar sells for $12.99 and I only got a sample size to try out.

Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins?? There’s gotta be a funny joke in there somewhere…

A refreshi-floral (it’s a word – trust us!) blend, that bursts with lilies, freesia, jasmine, and bayberry, muddled with fresh blackberries and plums, garnished with a sprig of peppermint.

I don’t use a lot of dry shampoo on a daily bases because with my hair being think, long and waxy and a little frizzy at times I tend to wash it daily but I will use dry shampoos is I have gotten a hair cut or style that I want it to look fresh the next day. I liked the scent of this and it made my hair feel clean and refreshed.

This is one of three scents that are available. The other two scents are Christmas Gram and Buddy.

This was another great box that I really loved. This is a box and subscription that I always use. Another great thing about the box is with each box you get a $10 gift card that you can use toward your next purchase online.

IMG_0057

The theme for the Winter box is Old Fashioned Family Christmas. I love how the box was packaged this month don’t you?

IMG_0058

The white container is “Christmas Bonus” Deep Conditioner. This is their third annual mystery fragrance. Isn’t it fun to try and guess the scents of products? I love trying these kinds of products for my hair. Its nice to break up your regular routine with new things.  As for the scent I am getting a mint smell. I will let you know what it is when I do my monthly empties.

“Our new deep conditioning treatment leaves hair deeply nourished, improves elasticity and shine, and rejuvenates, rebuilds, and repairs dry, damaged hair. Infused with argan oil, for long lasting conditioning.”

The black container is “Moose Mug Cuticle butter” you gently massage this into your hands focusing on the cuticle area. With the colder season now on us I am in dire need of this. I knew right away when I opened this that it was eggnog scented. I am a huge eggnog lover.

“”Can I refill your eggnog…?”

Rich cream, egg, and a touch of nutmeg.””

IMG_0059

“Squirrel Whipped Cream” One thing I love about FCS is the names they come up with for their products. I had no idea what I was about to smell when I opened this. It didn’t look like squirrel because it was pink in color and it sure doesn’t smell like squirrel. It has a really nice smell that I just can’t place my finger on.

“Handmade with a special low cholesterol recipe.

A festive blend of apples, sun ripened strawberries and plums dancing with zests of orange and a splash of lime.”

IMG_0060

“Fried Pussycat Whipped Soap” see what I mean with another funny title? I have no idea what whipped soap is so this will be fun to try out. If anyone knows how to use this please let me know as I tried to find out on my own with no luck.

“Because who doesn’t want to smell like fried pussycat?!

Juicy plum and whipped caramel wrapped in artisan bourbon vanilla and jasmine blossoms.”

IMG_0061

“mele Kelekimaka OCD Hand Sanitizer” Isn’t this the color of a tropical beach somewhere? When I think of that this is the color that comes to mind. Oh how I wish I was on one right now…This is a little strong in scent at first but once you rub it into your hands its perfectly fine. This smells like a tropical island sunscreen to me. This will be used quite a bit this winter with the icky cold weather when I feel like I need to get away.

“With visions of swimming pools dancing in your head.

Tropical spiced rum, Tahitian vanilla, sprinkled with Jasmine petals and woods”

IMG_0062

“”I Pledge Allegiance Amen Shower Steamer”. I have gotten these in the past and love them. What you do is place this in the tub at the back so that when you shower it will slowly disolves. Its an aromatherapy shower. It worked perfect last winter when I had that cold. It worked so well. I will be saving this for that kind of day. It has that herb smell that you know will do wonders for you.

“They want you to say the damn grace…!”

A brisk and outdoorsy blend of blue spruce and balsam fir, fresh mint and garden herbs.”

IMG_0063

“Sparkly Hydrate Me” OMG  I love the smell of this its pumpkin scented another one of my favorite fall scents. Does anyone else love the smell of pumpkin baking? I was so new to the hydrate me bars a while ago and since discovering them I love them. So after you shower you run this under water and basically your massage this into your skin and air dry a bit as the butters work in leaving your skin hydrated and soft. You will notice right away how soft your skin feels.

“We dedicate this to the FCS family Christmas. Drumroll Please!

Scrumptious vanilla pumpkin waffles topped with brown sugar, pecans and sheets of fresh whipped cream.”

IMG_0064

Finally the last item (which really should have been the first one) is the “Tis the Season to me Mary fortune cookie soap” A beautiful red soap that smells so good. Its a scent that I can’t describe in words, all i can say is that it smells so good. Its a nice unique scent.

My fortune said: “Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out in the middle of nowhere, leave your for dead?” Hmm okay that is a bit weird isn’t it LOL

“Buy this for your wife…God rest her soul.

Warm swirls of tobacco with a hint of almond.”

IMG_0065

This was another amazing box from FCS that I just love. I will be using everything this month in my box and let you know how it went at the end of the month.

Happy Holidays Everyone/

Fortune Cookie Soap The Soap Box Fall 2014 Edition

IMG_0050

The theme for the fall box is Witch Please.

IMG_0051

Whenever my box arrives I have to admit the first thing I always reach for is the cute little fortune cookie soap. This one is “There’s No Place Like Home” Its a beautiful ruby red color. Instantly upon opening the package you can smell apple and cinnamon which are the perfect fall items to have.

This is described as “Curled Macintosh apple peels lovingly kissed with a hint of cinnamon, allspice and clove, make this fragrance warm and cozy, just like home…”

Inside every fortune cookie soap you get a fortune and mine said “Whoever said nothing was impossible never tried slamming a revolving door.”

IMG_0052

“Miss Popular Bubble Bath Powder”. I think this is enough for one bath but I was able to split it into two because I loved the scent of this. I was trying to figure out what it was (I always try to figure out what the scents are before looking at the card) and I just couldn’t place it.  I have smelled this before and I actually love the scent.

This is described as ” As bubbly and sticky sweet as they come, but maybe not quite what you’d expect, such as a depth of scent that is both unexpected and enchanting. The most  delectable, sweet, honey nectar shamelessly flirting with touches of star anise, star jasmine, sweet orange and blushing violet.”

IMG_0053

The little brown bottle is “The Shiz Perfume Oil” I first have to comment on how cute this little bottle is and its nice because its completely filled with perfume oil. I basically use the perfume oil like a perfume. For me this is the perfect fall scent you can smell a bit of musk with the smell of tree. At first I thought it was a little strong (remember alot goes a long way) but as I was wearing I started to enjoy it and I think this would also be perfect to wear in the winter as well.

Its described as “Normally you wouldn’t want to smell like shiz, but get ready to eat those words! What? It wouldn’t be FCS without an inappropriate remark or two! A woodland hike through damp balsam woods, with top notes of maple leaves blowing through new dawn blossom, laurel and sweet clove.

Handcrafted pure perfume oil, not cut or diluted.”

The White bottle is “Hair Flip Hair oil”. When I smelled this I instantly thought of yummy baked goodies. This is delicious. You can smell the hazelnut in this. I use roughly 4-5 drops after drying my hair and I have been using it almost every other day. I should let you know that this is a new item being introduced into the collection.

Its described as “The beauty of what we do here at FCS, is that if we decide we want something new, we just go ahead and make it! *flip flip!*

Please give a round of applause for our new custom blend of oils, formulated to nourish and repair dry, damaged hair.
1-2 drops is all you need for ultimate shine without greasy residue. Strands of sweet hazelnut woven throughout rich, buttery vanilla cream.”

IMG_0054

“Swankified Walnut Facial Scrub” This is a new item that is being introduced into the skin care line. Smelling this you can tell this is a walnut item. One of the things I like about this is its a dual item that can be used on the face to exfoliate or a body scrub. I did try this on my face and since I have sensitive skin I found it a little rough but as a body scrub its fantastic. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft.

Its described as “As we continue to expand our skincare line, we’d like to introduce you to our new, daily scrub! We had your face in mind, but feel free to “swankify”?all your parts! Bunches of ripe bananas mashed into sweet, sugary cake batter, then topped with walnuts and baked to a golden brown.

Our Walnut Body Scrub is a luxuriously thick and creamy textured body scrub that is designed to help detox and exfoliate the face, revealing a new layer of smooth, shiny, healthy skin.”

IMG_0055

“Green is the New Black whipped cream”  I love their whipped creams. I think I have gotten to the point that I can no longer smell what the scents are in this box but I am able to tell you that this smells like something baking. Its  thick but not heavy or oily on the skin. Its a perfect cream.

“Because orange would have been too obvious! Top notes of orange, apple, pear, pineapple and cherries lured into autumn by pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove, all rounded out with warm vanilla-infused sugar.”

IMG_0056

Finally the last two items of the box.

“Roy C. Biv OCD Hand Sanitizer. I am always carrying around a hand sanitizer in my purse especially getting into the fall season. I have tried other brands but I have to say that the FCS ones are the best. I love the smell of them and over the years they have perfected the bottle which is nice. Michael has said in that other brands either smell strong or they burn when he uses them. Since trying the FCS ones he tells me that isn’t a issue. He loves that its not thick and gooey and that they smell good. Which I have to agree they aren’t strong and they smell so good. I love the smell of this, it smells like a fresh clean citrus smell.

“A full spectrum of bright citrus notes and florals against a cool fall background. Dusky breezes and bonfires, wind-blown leaves and charred woods brightened by notes of lemon, mandarin, cotton blossom and soft vanilla.”

“Flying Monkey’s Personal Space Spray” This is another item I love in the FCS collection. They always have the best air freshener sprays. They last quite a long time too. I have this one in my down stairs bathroom and I always find myself spraying it. This isn’t really a fall scent but I love it just the same.  I noticed that I have been using this alot lately because its getting cold and icky out.

“Mischief’s in the air! A fruity, breezy blend of peach, watermelon, neroli and jasmine with air and aquatic notes. But the real star of this fragrance? Fresh, ripe bananas!”

As you can see you do get 8 items in the box that are all deluxe sample sized. You are probably thinking that this box is expensive for what you get but let me just say that yes its deluxe sized samples but they are completely full no half empty bottles or containers. They are all hand made and I think that says alot about this company and they have the best customer service. Plus don’t forget you do get a $10 off future order coupon in each and every box. Plus you know you will get many uses out of the items and that its not all one use only.

For me I love this kind of subscription so I will always continue to subscribe. Its nice to get to try out the new scents of the season.

Have you tried this yet?
