Sunday’s In Bed With

This is being hosted by two of the sweetest people I have the privilege of knowing in real life, Kate and Kim. Sadly we don’t talk like we use to because you know real life happens but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them both.

It’s hard to believe that I am back doing another Sunday’s In Bed With…post. Where did the week go?

Apart from doing the regular house hold stuff I am currently planning Michael’s birthday. Its hard to believe that he will be turning 16 in like two weeks. How did that happen? Plus Easter is in two weeks so I am trying to figure that out. So much happening this month.

I did get to finish a book this week. Check back Tuesday as I will be a part of a blog tour for this and I will be meeting the author in May as she is one of the authors coming to town for MTL YA FEST.

Currently reading:

The Opposite of Geek

The Opposite of Geek by Ria Voros. She is another author that will be here for the MTL YA FEST. I wasn’t going to read this until May but when the book came in the mail this week I was flipping through it and just had to start it. Really enjoying this one.

Not sure what I will be reading after this. Hopefully I will get back on track with my TBR list. What are you reading today?

To Be Read April 2019

I don’t know if everyone likes seeing these kinds of posts but I like sharing what I am reading in the month. It holds me almost accountable or at least tries to.

I think for myself having a TBR for the month keeps me in check with what I should be reading especially when it comes to books I accept from publishers/authors etc when the come out during the month. Plus lately I have noticed that its very easy for me to feel overwhelmed with my bookcases so seeing a pile of books that I need to read makes things a lot easier.

I like having a selection of books to read in the month but as you can see I don’t usually stick to that pile and end up adding extra and in all honesty I am okay with that because I am not forcing myself to follow a strike TBR for the month its mainly just a guideline. I want this to be fun and not work.

Going into April,  I thought I would base this months (and probably next months) TBR on the authors who will be at the MTL YA FEST at the end of May. There is a lot of authors coming to the event (25) so that means a lot of books need to be read by then.

So, this is what I am going to attempt to tackle this month:

  • The Beauty of the Moment by Tanaz Bhathena
  • A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhatena
  • The Opposite of Geek by Ria Voros
  • Ten Things We Did (and probably shouldn’t have) by Sarah Mlynowski
  • I See London, I See France by Sarah Mlynowski
  • Chicken Girl by Heather Smith
  • The Truth About Leaving by Natalie Blitt
  • Carols & Crushes by Natalie Blitt
  • Planet Thief by Monique Polak
  • Don’t Tell The Enemy by Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch
  • Just a Normal Tuesday by Kim Turris

What do you plan on reading this month?

It’s hard to believe that I am back doing another Sunday’s In Bed With…post. Where did the week go? It was back to normal this week which was a welcome relief but sadly I started the week off with getting sick and I have been pretty much sick all week. Not sure if its due to the medication because I was told that my immune system would be comprised or if its in fact something I caught on my own. Needless to say I have been pretty much just trying to rest and sleep this thing off.

I have to admit that at first I didn’t think I would get any reading done but as you can see I did manage to read the following books thankfully they were all short books and quick reads.

French Twist (Detective Luc Moncrief, #…Malicious (Mitchum #2)Learning to Ride (Sunnybell #1)

Old Photographs by Sherie PosesorskiThe Ice Dragon by George R.R. MartinThe Jelly Bean Experiment by David A. AdlerJuana & Lucas by Juana Medina

The Show Must Go On! by Kate Klise

2nd Annual Montreal YA Fest

I just found out that there will be another MTL YA FEST  (young adult book festival) and I am super excited. Its happening May 26th from 10am to 5pm at the Jewish Public Library. This will be my second time attending an event there and my second MTL YA FEST. You can CLICK HERE to see my review from last year.

The MTL YA FEST is a full day of panel discussions, book signings, music, lots of books and merch to buy. Babar Books (they are a cute independent bookstore that is close to my house) is once again going to be there selling books should you need to purchase any last minute books that you want to get signed and in my case I ended up discovering some new authors that I wanted to read.

I believe this year they have included more authors. Here is the line up of authors that will be appearing:

Sunday’s In Bed With…

This is being hosted by two of the sweetest people I have the privilege of knowing in real life, Kate and Kim. Sadly we don’t talk like we use to because you know real life happens but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them both.

Its hard to believe that I am back doing another Sunday’s In Bed With…post. Where did the week go? It turned out to be a busy week here as DH decided to take this past week off so we were basically running around and doing things that we never get to on the weekends and I had to go for my monthly blood work.

Sadly not much reading got done this week because I also was hit with fatigue in the afternoons but I think that was due to all the running around we were doing in the mornings.

I ended up DNGing this because I just could not get into it and I tried most of the week but nothing so I dropped it. I have way to many books sitting here to read to waste time on books I can’t get into. This is my new mantra this year. If within the first 50 pages I can’t get into the book I am dropping it. Does anyone else do this?

Fat Girl Walking: Sex, Food, Love, and …
