Claire Malone didn't mean for this to happen when she moved to New York. She just wanted to live the city life and gain experience in television writing, her dream career. It's not like she meant to reciprocate when her married boss, Sean Vared, sent her flirty e-mails. And you can t blame her for coming into the office on the weekend when Sean told her he was going to be there . . . alone.

She didn't mean to sleep with him but hey, she wanted to experience the city life, so no big deal, right? Wrong.

By the time Claire wakes up on her 25th birthday, she's very much in love with Sean. At work, she struggles to hold it together when he passes her desk the very desk that they used to make love on. Soon Sean has turned his affection to the show's starring actress, and Claire is devastated.

Can she break away from Sean without ruining her barely started career? Will someone find out what happened? Will she ever grow up and stop making stupid mistakes?

25 Sense is about the time in a young woman s life when the world starts to view her as a responsible adult but all she feels is lost."

May 2016 Book Unhauling

BookUnhauling
Good Monday morning everyone. Its that time of the month where I show what books I am unhauling this month. I had so much success last year unhauling books that I thought I would continue this again for 2016.

I decided way back in January (2015) that I wanted to document how many books I was giving away each month to see if I was making any kind of dent in my book collection.

I know last year I probably brought in more then I was actually giving away so this year I am trying to be cautious with my book buying and I am giving myself a budget each time I go shopping in hopes that it will curb my spending.

So each month I will be posting about what books I am unhauling and then another monthly post will be what books I physically bought in the month.

Are you a constant book buyer? Can you resist buying books on a weekly bases? Please tell me I am not alone in this?

I am gradually going through the bookcases and the many boxes that I have stored in the basement and doing a purge because this summer with fingers crossed we will get the basement finally renovated and I can purchase new bookcases and set up a library down there. So over the next few months I am expecting larger unhaulings.

Take a look at what I unhauled this month:
(Unless otherwise noted these are books I have read and I am passing them along to another book loving home.)

  1. Star Darlings: Tessa’s Lost & Found #9
  2. The All Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg
  3. No Love Allowed by Kate Evangelista
  4. Homeroom Diaries by James Patterson

So for May I am releasing 4 books this month. I am thinking I might have unhauled a few books that I didn’t get the chance to document 🙁 I am usually more on top of these things. I guess May was a busy month for me.

  • Total for 2016 is 67
  • Total for 2015 is 211

If We Were Having Tea…. #28

hotcoffee_2

If we were having tea… I would tell you that we ended our school week with a bit of drama. Apparently Thursday kids from Michael’s school and a French high school in the area had an altercation and a fight broke out and then later that afternoon a graffiti threat was left on a city bus saying that there was going to be a massacre on Friday at Michael’s high school. Needless to say I kept him home on Friday. Thankfully nothing happened and three kids from the French school were arrested from the Thursday incident and the graffiti threat is still under investigation.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that Thursday night I went to an author event at a local book store with Jennifer and I will be talking about that this week with a review of the book.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I was a little bit sad that I wasn’t able to attend BEA in Chicago because it seemed like everyone who went had alot of fun. Next year for sure.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that we will be hitting up IKEA today to grab a few items because we are going to be redoing certain areas in the house finally. Hoping to paint this summer and complete the basement so that I can set up my library down there.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I prepping this week for Michael’s confirmation on Saturday. We have quite a bit to do this week in order to get ready for the event. The main thing is cleaning and prepping the food.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I starting to ease up on my planner decorating kits because I think I actually have enough to get me into the fall. So I will only need to order monthly spreads now.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week.

BookSparks Summer Reading Challenge/ House of Bradbury Spotlight

Title: House of Bradbury
Author: Nicole Meier
Pub Date: May 10, 2016
Format: Hardcover
Publisher: Spark Press
Pages 280

Debut Author

About the book:

Mia Gladwell’s life is going nowhere. The media has skewered her debut novel, her fiancé Carson, a successful Hollywood producer, has jumped ship, and now she’s living in her sister’s carriage house―unattached, unemployed, and uninspired. Then she learns that the Los Angeles estate of iconic author Ray Bradbury is up for sale, and she feels an immediate urge to buy the wonky old house, convinced that moving into the late author’s home will inspire her to create her best work yet.

Life in the Bradbury house is not what Mia imagined, however. Soon after moving in, to fulfill a debt she owes to Carson, she agrees to take in a pill-popping young actress as a tenant, and suddenly she finds herself in a balancing act between her needy ex, an unpredictable starlet, and her disapproving sister, who’s keeping a close eye on her. Add to this a series of mysterious sketches left at her doorstep by a stranger, and Mia’s life is more complicated than ever. As she searches for clues, though, Mia discovers insights into her own life. Maybe moving into Bradbury’s house was a big mistake―but maybe not.divider4.png

When I read the description for this I knew I wanted to read this. I am hoping to pick this up today.
