If we were having tea… I would tell you that we ended our school week with a bit of drama. Apparently Thursday kids from Michael’s school and a French high school in the area had an altercation and a fight broke out and then later that afternoon a graffiti threat was left on a city bus saying that there was going to be a massacre on Friday at Michael’s high school. Needless to say I kept him home on Friday. Thankfully nothing happened and three kids from the French school were arrested from the Thursday incident and the graffiti threat is still under investigation.
If we were having tea… I would tell you that Thursday night I went to an author event at a local book store with Jennifer and I will be talking about that this week with a review of the book.
If we were having tea… I would tell you that I was a little bit sad that I wasn’t able to attend BEA in Chicago because it seemed like everyone who went had alot of fun. Next year for sure.
If we were having tea... I would tell you that we will be hitting up IKEA today to grab a few items because we are going to be redoing certain areas in the house finally. Hoping to paint this summer and complete the basement so that I can set up my library down there.
If we were having tea… I would tell you that I prepping this week for Michael’s confirmation on Saturday. We have quite a bit to do this week in order to get ready for the event. The main thing is cleaning and prepping the food.
If we were having tea… I would tell you that I starting to ease up on my planner decorating kits because I think I actually have enough to get me into the fall. So I will only need to order monthly spreads now.
If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week.
I’m glad that threat didn’t become a reality!
Kathy so am I. Michael was a nervous wreck on Friday so I know he would have made himself sick. This morning he was nervous and I told him to be alert and smart and to pay attention to what is going on around him.
Huh, it’s weird that you keep calling my future basement apartment a library, but you know that’s my preferred design style. 🙂
I am so sorry for the school scare- what a nightmare! I’m glad it turned out to be nothing more than a over the top graffiti, but I think you made the right decision keeping Michael home. While I’m all for not letting threats keep us from going about our daily lives, sometimes you just have to use common sense. Possible attack on your kid’s school on Friday? Keep the kid home, crisis diverted. Hopefully they catch the kids who made the threat.
I was a bit sad about BEA too, but not as sad as I thought I’d be. It helps that only a few of my good blogging friends went, so I wasn’t too overwhelmed with what I was missing, and now that I WORK IN A BOOKSTORE and my new boss went, I will still reap the benefits of some of the arcs. (I started part time this past weekend at a small, independent bookstore, and it’s like heaven).
Next year we are for sure going to NYC and BEA! And if Trump is president, then I guess I’ll be catching the train down with you… 😉
Good luck with all the prepping for Michael’s confirmation!
I miss you!
Kate, can I just say you made my day… I laughed when I read this. This is why we are friends… see I can’t advertise that I am making it an apartment to just everyone so that is my cover story LOL and I know you like to be surrounded by books so see I got you covered..
It was a nightmare. Michael was and still is a nervous wreck about the whole thing. The school has about 2000 students and the attendance on Friday was under 130 kids so I’m not the only one who kept their child home. Gee even the vice principle kept her daughter at home and I am sorry but that says alot to me. She didn’t even feel comfortable bringing her daughter into school. So why should I let my child go. Sadly no arrest to the graffiti has been made and the only arrest was for the fight on Thursday.
I think that was me too realizing not alot of bloggers I knew was going so that helped.. I kept checking to see if you were sneaking in LOL It seemed really quiet this year compared to other years and not sure if it was just because I know more east coast bloggers or what. Since when did you start working in a bookstore? I hope she passes along some books for you… hey not only can you go as a blogger but you can also go asa bookseller thumbs up
Yes we have to do BEA again next year…its been too long 🙁 and well of course we can ride the train together if you are living here 😮
Thanks i am sure it will be a good day. Its suppose to be hot and sunny so I will be sharing pics on facebooks
I miss you too
