If We Were Having Tea…. #5

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this was one busy week and I am happy to see it finally end. It was seriously Murphy’s Law this week because everything went completely wrong.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that its been stressful all week with having no access to my blog. I couldn’t access it at all even though I was told everyone could see it. I think towards the end of the week I broke down in tears because I thought all my hard work was going to be gone. Thankfully a week later it gets resoloved.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that yesterday was my birthday and it was a fantastic day. I got to hang out with Tina from Bookshipper for breakfast and then in the afternoon I got to hang out with others friends that we have known for about nine years now and we went and cut down our Xmas tree. Plus I got some pretty amazing gifts.

If we were having tea… I would tell you this month is going to be really hard with not having my mom with this. This was also a tough week because this is my first birthday without her. Every time the phone rang I kept wishing it was her. So this month is going to be really low key.

If we were having tea… I would tell you instead of going out for dinner like we normally do I opted to stay home and have this amazing 3 cheese Roasted Vegetable Pasta dish that is so yummy with strawberry shortcake on the side.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that this afternoon we have our hockey team xmas party which will be fun. I am really enjoying the parents on the team.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this week I plan on starting some xmas baking and I know this week we will be decorating the tree.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week.

Stocking Stuffers for Ladies

Good morning everyone and welcome to my final Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas post for Christmas 2015. Today I am going to offer you some suggestions for stocking stuffers for girls, aunts, moms etc. that special girl in your life.

This is items that I had picked up for myself last Christmas (2014). I am hoping that one year my DH will decided to take it upon himself and do this for me but so far its been a no go. I have told him that one year I would like to be surprised when I open my stocking although he did slip a few things in without me knowing.

So here is what was in my stocking I hope that it will offer you some suggestions for your own and if you think of anything else please share it with me. I am always on the hunt for good stocking stuffers items.

a few foil samples

Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Men

Good Morning and welcome to another Stocking Stuffer ideas post.

Today I am going to talk about stocking stuffers that you can get the man in your life. I have to admit I always have a hard time finding items to put into the stocking. Do you? I did start pretty early this year and was on the hunt for anything that was small, fun, unique and things that I knew he would like.

This is stocking from last Christmas (2014) and the ideas are usually the same. So I hope that this list will help you come up with some ideas of your own and please share anything that I could put in future stockings.

A new tooth brush and new paste (this is always a staple in our stockings)
chocolates (last year I went with our standard Lindt gold bear and some Kinder eggs)
hand warmers
deodorant (another staple)
a magazine (he never buys this but enjoys reading it)
a little note pad with a pen
a kool aide drink mix (he loves this)
a package of lottery tickets
gift cards for gas, Tim Horton’s and subway
a coupon booklet that he can redeem for things

There was some things missing since we cleaned up the tree the day after Christmas but some other ideas you can use are key chains, little pocket flashlights, shower gels, lip balms etc

If We Were Having Tea….#4

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this was one busy week and I am happy to see it finally end. It was too many things and too much running around.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this was a crazy hockey weekend again. Michael had off ice training on Tuesday night, a game Wednesday night against our sister team and we lost 3-1 (its too bad that they felt as though they had to be so aggressive) , Friday night we had a team practice, Saturday we had another game against another city and we won 3-2 , and then this afternoon we have another game against another city and I will tell you how that game was next week.

If we were having tea… I would tell you it was parent teacher interviews at Michael’s high school and I am curious to see and speak to his teachers and hear what they had to say and they all raved about how great of a student he is and wishes they had a class full of him.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I am digging into my Christmas books to start reading. I don’t have a lot but a few to get me into the spirit hopefully. I am finishing up one now and

If we were having tea... I would tell you that I am contemplating going to Toronto in January for the Ontario Library Association conference. The train ticket isn’t that bad but the hotel rate is killing me and its getting harder and harder to find a place near the convention center. I am shocked at the rates because its only Toronto in the winter time.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I have bought all my baking supplies for my Christmas baking which will begin next week. I have quite a few things I want to make and I will share that on my blog in December with a weekly recipe post.

I recently saw Jennifer from Mrs.Q Book Addict post this on her blog and I thought it was an interesting idea so I thought I might do this as well. I hope that is okay Jennifer?

If we were having tea… I would tell you that Michael got his report on Friday and that he made the academic honor roll for first semester. I am super proud of him. He works hard and studies hard.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this was a crazy hockey weekend again like most weekends. We had a game yesterday against the 5 place team and we tied 1-1. We are currently in 8th place. Today we have a 7am practice which I didn’t go to for once.

If we were having tea… I would say that its going to be a busy hockey week with an off ice training, a game against our sister team on Wednesday and then another game on Saturday against the 12th place team.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that I am contemplating going to Toronto in January for the Ontario Library Association conference. If we were having tea… I would tell you that I am beginning my holiday baking. Well not actually the baking but finding things to make this year. I have a few staples that I always make and I plan on blogging about those in December.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I have to go to a church dinner and that Michael is having a hard time with going. It was my father in law’s church and it brings back memories of him for Michael. I noticed the last time we went he took it very hard. I was trying to avoid going because I know what it does but it was a no go. I think having to deal with his death earlier this year and then my mom’s, Michael is finding it very hard. I don’t blame him because he is only 12 and his feelings need to be taken into account over the adults who think its perfectly fine and that we are honoring his memory by going.
