In this hilarious graphic novel, Edison Beaker is about to find out what services the family business, Beaker Creature Control, really offer. (Hint: forget about rat and roach removal . . . think monster hunting!)
Edison Beaker and his young sister Tesla are staying with their Uncle Earl, manager of the family pest control company, when an alarm sounds and he has no choice but to drag them along on a service call.
They should have listened when he warned them to “stay in the van.”
Monster-sized mayhem ensues when the kids chase their escaped hamster into a mysterious warehouse–and suddenly they are the ones being chased when all sorts of creepy creatures scurry, slink, and stomp through a secret Night Door.
The first of two new middle-school graphic novels that introduce a funny, smart, likable, reluctant hero and his wisecracking younger sister whose adventures are sure to appeal to readers of Lunch Lady, Hilo, and Caveboy Dave.

I quickly need to thank Penguin Random House Canada for sending me this unexpected ARC. I was under no obligation to read or review it. Since this was such a fun graphic novel to read I thought I would share my thoughts on it today.

Edison Beaker Creature Seeker is the first middle grade graphic novel in the series.

I am not quite sure how to review graphic novels as its something I don’t tend to get alot of. I do enjoy reading them. If anyone has any tips on how to review a graphic novel please let me know. Edios

The illustrations are perfect and eye catching. I will definitely have to check it out the next time I am in Chapters because the ARC was in black and white. You can tell that a lot of work went into each box with the attention to details.

Edison and his sister, Tess are staying with their uncle Earl. The kids think that he is an exterminator but they don’t realize there is more to him then meets the eye and soon realize this when he takes the kids on a late night service call. What will they do when they find out the truth?

From the first page I was instantly sucked in and had to read this and I pretty much devoured it in one sitting because it was that good. I loved how Edison would do anything to protect and help is family and even his sisters hamster when pushed came to shove.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone with kids who love fast paced and action packed graphic novels.
