July 2017 Books Bought

Since starting my blog back in August of 2008 I always try to share what books I get with you so that you can see what I will be reading and I am always looking for a place to link them so that others can see them so from now on I will be sharing my links on Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality. As Marlene has offered to co-host Stacking The Shelves with Tynga’s Reviews. Marlene is a new to be blogger and I look forward to checking out her blog.

As you can see I switched this up and will be posting monthly because  I have to say since doing this instead of posting the books in my weekly haul I am much more aware of the books that I am buying.

I am trying to get better with my book buying and trying to stick to sales, bargain books or reward plum bonus point events. As a book lover its hard not to buy books.

As you can see this month is much calmer in books that I bought and I have to say that I am quite impressed. Most of these are going to be my vacation reads.

  1. The Land of Stories Worlds Collide Book 6 in the series by  Chris Colfer
  2. The Break Down by B.A Paris
  3. The Cage by Megan Shepherd (book 1 in The Cage triology)
  4. The Hunt by Megan Shepherd (book 2 in The Cage triology)
  5. That Night by Chevy Stevens (found this in the bargain section)
  6. The Bookseller by Cynthia Swanson (found this in the bargain section)

Total books bought this month: 6
Total books bought this month (Michael): 0

Total books read from this months haul: 0

Total books bought in 2017: 73

Total books read in 2017: 23

Sunday’s In Bed With….

Welcome to our Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

This is being hosted by two of the sweetest people I have to privilege of knowing in real life Kate and Kim. Sadly we don’t talk like we use to because you know real life happens but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them both.

For some reason this never went up on the blog this week and when I realized it I noticed it was in draft so sorry about that. Well anyways I really didn’t get the chance to lay in bed and read because I had to get up to get some groceries down and a few other errands before we have to go to a family dinner. I did squeeze a little reading it. (Please note that I am editing this on Thursday but will back schedule it for Sunday)

So I did finish reading:

Bittersweet Dreams

Corliss (Girls of Spindrift, #1)

The second book in the Girls of Spindrift, Donna I only got notification this week that I was granted accesses for it so I will read that next week.

I then picked up and read:

Orbiting Jupiter

I am currently reading this and a little less then half way through this so I should be finished that this week:

Under Rose-Tainted Skies

I also need to get this one read this week because I am part of a blog tour for this and its on my kindle app:

The Way It Hurts by Patty Blount

What are you reading today? Have you read any of these?

Review/ The Queen is Coming to Tea

Title: The Queen is Coming to Tea
Author: Linda Ravin Lodding
Illustrator: Constranze von Kitzing
Pub Date: February 7, 2017
Publisher: Sourcebooks Jabberwocky

About the book:
Can Ellie and her furry friends get everything ready in time for tea with the Queen?

One day there was a knock at Ellie’s door. There stood the Queen’s Footman.

“A message from Her Royal Highness.” He offered Ellie a note on a silver tray.

May I please come for tea?

Sincerely yours,
The Queen Herself

When Ellie finds out the Queen is coming to tea, she snaps to attention! With her best friend, Langley the Elephant, Ellie travels to Paris, China, Italy, and New York to make sure they have everything they need for tea with the Queen. But will the Queen patiently wait? And what exactly will be waiting for the Queen?

Its hard when your child is getting older and picture books are no longer of interest but I admit I still take the time to flip through them when I see one that interests me.

I was happy when Sourcebooks  Jabberwonky asked if I would like to be a book tour for this and they graciously provided me with a copy of the book to read for my review today.

Its a super cute book with bright and colorful illustrations and I think little girls would be attracted to the book.

The book begins with a knock on Ellie’s door asking if the “Queen” could come for tea. Ellie is excited and quickly begins to prepare for the “Queen’s” arrival. She only wants the best for the Queen so she flies to Paris for a cake, Italy for lemons, China for tea and New York City for a dress. Along the way she picks up friends to come back with her.

I loved the imagination Ellie had because the Queen turns out to be her mother and they are sitting together and having a tea party.

This was such a fun and cute read.

Good morning everyone. Since I am scheduling this to post I am really hoping that I am curled up in bed reading this morning. Its been a long and tiring week. Since school ended there was been no sleeping in because Michael has been going to the parks program in the morning so he has to be up at 8:30am and twice this week I had to be up at 5:30 to make sure hubby was out the door for 6 to take the bus to work since I had to bring the car into the garage.

I am currently reading:

I was hoping to save this until vacation but I just can’t.

Its been awhile since I have read anything from the V.C Andrews collection (and this has literally been sitting on my shelf since I bought it) but I got asked to review

and I am hoping to get this one sometime today from the publisher.

Corliss and Donna are all Enovellas and are book 1 and 2 in The Girls of Spindrift series.

Can I just take a moment to say how pretty the covers are? For some reason I always love the covers to V.C Andrews books.

This morning I am hoping that I am able to curl up with Disclaimer by Renee Knight. I started reading this earlier in the week after I finished The Couple Next Door. It started off slow so I am hoping it will pick up.

Sunday’s In Bed With… The Couple Next Door

I am really late in posting this and I apologize for not getting this up sooner but I have been up extra early this morning because we ended up having to buy a new dryer last week because ours died after 18 years of use and its was being delivered today. So instead of being on the computer I ended up curling up on the couch to read:

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

So far its really good and I am completely confused, which is a good thing I think. I will probably finish this today and I have this one up next:
