Pack up the pooches and load the van. We need to leave by eight! There's so much to bring. Do we have everything? Come on, we can't be late!   The classic song gets a fresh new twist! The fun begins when Grandma and Grandpa send invitations to their far-flung, modern, and multiracial family: Come to our house for the holidays--and bring your favorite pie! Off everyone goes, driving down snowy roads, riding the train, boarding a plane . . . even sailing along in a hot-air balloon. As each family faces an obstacle that delays their trip, they learn that sometimes the most old-fashioned form of transportation works best . . . NEIGH!

I received this book for free from publisher/pr firm in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

One thing I love about Christmas time is the books especially picture books.

Today I am going to be talking about Over The River & Through The Wood by Linda Ashman and illustrated by Kim Smith.

I loved the illustrations in the book and the diverse characters in the book. It was nice to finally see that in a picture book for kids.

Over The River & Through The Wood is set to that classic tune and your suppose to read the book in that tune. I admit I had to google it to see how it went as its been a long time since I heard it. The story is about a diverse family that has been invited to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Each member of the family has to overcome a traveling disaster such as the car running out of gas, a flat tire and so much more but in the end they all meet along the way and help each other out to arrive at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

This is such a cute book and I think it would make a perfect gift.

THE EPIC CONCLUSION OF SAVANNAH AND VINCENT!

All of your questions are about to be answered and some sh*t has hit the fan. Will Savannah and Vincent be able to live happily ever after? Will their relationship withstand prison and FBI agents?

Between you and me, who knows what’s about to happen!

Freshly home from their nuptials and honeymoon, Savannah and Vincent begin to understand that the honeymoon is over. With the wedding present of her own real estate firm, Savannah realizes that she has a lot more to take care of and it’s not as easy as she and Anne originally thought. Now the wives of made men, they have to work harder to separate themselves from the family. It’s important that they are not grouped into the underworld with their new business.

Vincent is back to doing whatever he did before their wedding but there’s agents who are lurking around their private life more. However, one agent is determined to bring him and the Lucky Family down no matter what.

Joel died.

Who killed Joel? That is the question and even though Savannah suspects she knows who did it, the truth won’t set anyone free. The FBI have inserted themselves into their life and they are not leaving.

What happens if Vincent goes to prison? What does that mean for Savannah? What does that mean for everyone else?

This conclusion has sensitive subjects such as infertility, babies and murder.

My name is Eden Rose and it’s a pleasure to meet you. I have been writing for a long
time and once I picked a topic, I couldn’t stop writing. My books are very special to me because in some aspect I have had experience in the subject matter one way or another. I love reading romance but I like the main male lead to be a real bad boy, not one who thinks they are bad.

I live in Michigan with my husband and three fur babies! I can be found taking my dog for walks all over town or in a quiet corner reading. I have twodegrees in history andcriminal justice from a small private college in Michigan where I also joined a sorority.

Holiday Gift Guide Day 2/ Zaya Body Oil

zaya body oil
Welcome to the second day of my holiday gift guide.

I was recently contacted by a pr rep asking if I would be interested in trying this Zaya body oil and I figured this would be perfect to include in my holiday gift guide.

As the cold winter season is approaching us our skins tend to get dry and crave some moisture so we need to nourish our skin.

ZAYA uses only organic and natural plant oils to deeply nurture your skin and leave it glowing.

Zaya is a Canadian eco skincare company that encourages women everywhere to let their beauty shine!

The Zaya Body Oil in Grapefruit & Rosemary has a beautiful combination of grapefruit and rosemary essential oils that provide a balance, toning and firming. Sweet almond oil enriches the blend with Vitamin D and essential fatty acids to have your skin feeling silky from head to toe. ZAYA Body Oil Blend also includes wheat germ oil and organic castor oil to promote collagen production and lift sagging skin.

I have to tell you that I am new to the whole body oils and just recently I heard about Zaya. So I was thrilled when I was asked if I wanted to review this. Before I get into my thoughts I thought that I would let you know that I was provided with a full size bottle of the Grapefruit & Rosemary Body Oil. Its a 100 ml that retails for $46.00 and if you click on the above image it will take you directly to the link so that you can buy it for yourself or someone you know.

I love their packaging and the box itself can be used for something else or to store little things in.

When I first used the oil after my shower I have to admit I wasn’t sure at first because its not what I thought it would smell like, it comes off as a strong scent but once it was blended in the scent got milder. I didn’t think that the grapefruit and rosemary would work together but I am surprised to say it does go very well together. The only thing is I wish there was more of a scent afterwards and as time went on the less it smelled.

Having used the product for quite some time now I noticed instantly my skin wasn’t dry and scaly like it normally is this time of the year especially on my legs which are always dry and itchy this time of the year. I will definitely continue to use this over the winter. I noticed a difference in my skin almost right away and more so as the day went on. It felt smooth and moisturized. I should say that it doesn’t leave an oily feel to the skin which was something I was worried about. It blends in nicely.

Over all I did like the oil and I will continue to use it because like I said I did notice a difference in my skin.

I am curious to try out their other oils and I just wish that the body oils had more of a selection then just this one.

Thanks Zaya for sending this for me to try.

Merry Christmas everyone.

If We Were Having Tea…. #2

hotcoffee_2

I recently saw Jennifer from Mrs.Q Book Addict post this on her blog and I thought it was an interesting idea so I thought I might do this as well. I hope that is okay Jennifer?

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this was a crazy hockey weekend again with a game and practice. Sadly we lost our game 2-4. The kids played so hard and Michael rushed with the puck and almost had a goal.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I love watching him on the ice. He makes hockey look so effortless. He has grace and style on the ice. He is fast. He is a good hockey player.

If we were having tea… I would tell you about the book I am reading called The Mystics of Mile End by Sigal Samuel. I am really enjoying this book set in Montreal.

If we were having tea... I would tell you about an awesome deal I picked up online via Chapters. They have The Man on the Moon and The Sandman by William Joyce in hardcover on sale for $5 each and I managed to get them for free because I cashed in my plum points. This was a huge deal because a few months ago my friend bought them at full price ($19.99 each).

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I have another busy week with a hockey game, Michael has his confirmation class and then hockey on the weekend.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week.

2015 Holiday Gift Guide

2015GiftGuide

Christmas is quickly approaching and its hard to believe there is roughly 5 weeks left.  Are you ready? I am not ready by any means apart from having our advent calendars.

This year I thought I would try something different and I hope you guys will like it. I am going to be offering a gift guide this year. Over the last month or two I have been contacted by several outlets asking to be included in a gift guide so I thought I would put one together.

I always find it hard to find just the right gifts and I know I am not the only one so I thought perhaps seeing some new ideas might give you the inspiration that you need for those hard to get people on your Christmas list.

Check back daily for roughly the next three weeks to get some new and exciting ideas.

Updated Lampe Berger Review

IMG_0234

Roughly about this time last year I was provided with a limited edition Lampe Berger Paris in Red Apple and I have to say it goes very well with my decor year round and especially during the holiday season. The scent I have been burning is Orange Cinnamon. I am actually almost done with the orange cinnamon and its last me about a year and that’s because I didn’t use it every day. I need to refill asap.

Did you know that as Canadians we spend roughly 90% of our time indoors? Did you know that a majority of us are unaware of the effects poor that poor indoor air quality can have on our health? As the colder weather creeps up on us we are staying indoors and breathing in what is in our houses.

In the past I have tried to keep my windows open for a bit just to let the air circulate in the house but over time you could tell the air wasn’t that great. I have gone the route of plants but I would eventually kill them all and then we got two potted trees thinking that would clean up the air but nope.

I have tried everything and then I guess we just figured we would need to accept it because air fresheners and candles weren’t cutting it and then it was like the God’s were shining down on us because that was about the time I was contacted to review this and I figured what did I have to lose right?

Did you know that we spend roughly $300 to $500 a year on air fresheners? I was one of those people and now I am happy to say that I no longer purchase  air fresheners, I just use my Lampe Berger.

Lampe Berger not only purifies the air but it will destroy odors and leave a lingering scent behind. I have noticed the difference in the air of our home since using the Lampe Berger. It feels cleaner and I have to say that as soon as anyone of us start sniffling I light the lamp and it seems to clear what ever is in the air which is good because we are a busy house hold.

If your looking for something that will purify the air in your home and destroy any lingering odor I highly recommend the Lampe Berger. It might seem like a lot but in the long run you will appreciate it and get a lot of use out of it.
