Lush Mini Haul

I think I can actually count the number of times I have been in my local Lush store on one hand. Yes, you read that right on one hand.

I love going to the local mall and walking in to smell Lush. I love Lush products and would probably buy them more often but I find them a little bit expensive for what I like and what I want.

I saw a blog post or perhaps it was a vlog last week and the girl had done a Lush haul and when I saw the pumpkin soap I instantly wanted to go and see if I could get one. Sadly they were gone and the girl at Lush said they are the best sellers of the holiday season. My question is, if they are such big sellers, why don’t they have more?

Needless to say I didn’t get it but I was looking around and decided I would pick up a bath bomb.

I had no idea what I was going to get because after a while the scents become over bearing. Plus everything is so pretty, what do you choose? I went small this time and only picked up two bath bombs as they should last me a little while.

The first one I picked up was Butterball (the white one).

Our vanilla-scented Bath Bomb is anything but boring when you lay back into a cozy white blanket of creamy buttery froth. This little fizzer is the ultimate in comfort with chunks of creamy cocoa butter; it’s fantastic for rehydrating dry skin. Baths can dry your skin if they’re too hot, so if you’re in need of a long, lingering bath pop one of these gorgeous beauties into the tub for a vanilla custard soak to lull you into a deep relaxed state – and leave with sweeter, softer skin.

The pink one is called Pink Mini. I couldn’t find this one on the site but I would presume it could be this one that is similar to what I picked up.

Inspired by the delightful Audrey Hepburn, Pink is sophisticated, sexy, elegant, and witty. Fragranced with edgy tonka bean, neroli, and the sweetness of vanilla absolute, it turns baths into candy-scented fantasies with a fragrance that lingers on your skin long after you’re out of the bath. It’s sweet, but not overbearingly so, with a subtle bite of something cheeky. Spoil yourself; instead of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, have an indulgent bath with Pink.

The Halloween mask was given out because they were promoting an in-store event about the Halloween scents. I didn’t go because it was this past Saturday in the afternoon and if you know what mall I am talking about you know this place is crazy on the weekends and finding parking is virtually impossible and I tend to avoid going on the weekends and at Christmas time because its crazy.

Are you a Lush shopper? If so what is your go to items that you repurchase all the time? What should I try the next time I go there?

(Meme) Sunday’s In Bed With…. #21 and I swear this is the last time you will see this book in this meme

I am working on getting some posts scheduled in advance and figured I would add a  Sundays In Bed With…. post since its going to be a busy weekend this weekend.

The awesome blogger behind this is Kate from Midnight Book Girl   not only is she an awesome blogger but she is was one of my roommates for BEA. YAY!!

Midnight Book Girl

Sundays In Bed With….is a meme I’ve started to share the book we’re spending the morning in bed with, or the one we’d like to stay curled up in bed with all Sunday if only our busy lives would allow! For fun, take a picture of the book in your bed, or simply write up a post or comment below sharing your Sundays in Bed With book. Quoted from Kate’s blog.

I didn’t get to stay in bed to read this morning because I had a few things to do this morning and then Michael has a hockey preactice this afternoon. Speaking of hockey he had his first game yesterday and they are still working out the kinks of the team and finding out who goes where (and some kids need to stay in that role! There is one kid on  the team who thinks its okay to start checking players and then getting in to get the puck away from his own team mates. Rant over sorry about that) Sadly they lost 2-0 but Michael did very well he had two break aways and almost goals.

I swear today will be the last day you see this book in this meme I am so determined to finish this book if its the death of me. So I am still reading Alice in Zombieland. I am almost through it and hoping to finish it today and will finish it even if it means staying up all night to do so.

I have to admit that I am not really enjoying this. Not quite sure why but I have invest so much time already into the book that I just can’t bail now. Did anyone else encounter this? Please tell me I’m not alone.

What will you be reading today and this week?

The Natural Beauty Box October Edition

This is this month’s bag

This is my second Natural Beauty Box and I really enjoyed September Box so I quickly went and ordered this months box and I have actually went ahead and ordered the Novemeber box because I really liked this months box.

Here is a little bit about this service:
•$20.00 + GST (I paid $21.00 for this)
•Its not a recurring charge so you have to go back each month to subscribe to the box.
•You get a mininum of 10 samples each month (your box can contain anywhere from 10-15)
•no foil samples (those 1 time samples)
•These are all deluxe sized samples
•Its 95 to 100 % all natural ingredients
•Every box comes with a guide on what the products are, useful beauty tips and tons of coupons for every product in the box.
•you never get the same product two months in a row
•you also won’t get two of the same type of products in the box ie eye creams
•They ship to the US, Canada, United Kingdom and International Photobucket

I loved this months bag inside and out. The packaging was really pretty this month again. I am curious to see what November and December will bring.

I loved the hot pink crinkle cut paper. The first things I pulled out was a product card for Burst and my personalized envelope that held my invoice and product description paper.

I ended up grouping the items together into categories to make things easier when I did the post. What do you think of this way?
~Happy Pumpkin Exfoliating Mini Sugar Pumpkin Soap. Sample size is 1.5oz for $3.80 and the full size is $8.50
~ATL International Raw Carrier Oil (St John Worts). Sample size is 1oz for $10.00 and the full size is $18.50
~Burst Organic Beauty Bar Love Bubbles Body Wash. Sample size is 1oz for $3.50 and the full size is $8.50
~Wine Delights Natural Bath Salt Assortment. Sample size is 3×0.5oz for $6.00 and the full size is $12.50

I have started to use the Pumpkin Soap and the Love Bubbles Body Wash and I love them. I loved the smell and was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked. I could actually see myself repurchasing theses.
~Burst Organic Beauty Bar Super Rich Island Butter. The sample size is 1oz for $6.50 and the full size is $14.50
~Petal Organics Firming Phyto Petal Bio Active Body Cream. The sample size is 1oz for $30.00 and the full size is $160.00

I really liked the Island Butter as it smelled of blueberries and reminded me of a trypical smell. I want to save this one for the cold winter months when I need that little pick me up. As for the body cream I like it but this won’t be something I would purchase because of the price.

This is what the Island Butter looks like. I love the packaging and it looks like whip cream doesn’t it? I love the smell and can’t wait to use it in the cold winter months.

~Ariona Healing Balm. The sample size is 0.25oz and its worth $5.00 and the full size is $15.00
~ Accidental Herbal Cinnamon Honey Lip Jam. The sample size is 0.25oz for $4.00 and the full size is unknown.

I like the packing of these and I think I would purchase the healing balm because I have been noticing a difference in my rough heals they are getting soft. Not sure about the lip jam. Its a nice alternative to lip balm.
~Virga Botanicals Gentle Creamy Facial Cleanser with Lavendar. The sample is 1oz for $4.00 and the full size is $12.95
~Biograzia Grazzia Bio-Regan Face Cream. The sample is 5ml for $5.50 and the full size is $33.00
~Authentic Skin Remedies Balance Sea Water Facial Mist. The sample is 8ml for $6.00 and the full size is $33.00

I haven’t tried any of the facial stuff yet cause I am still waiting for my skin to heal before trying anything new but these sound interesting and I am curious to try them out eventually.
So this is what I got in my Natural Beauty Box for October. Its 11 samples worth $84.30

I really like this months box and I am loving the bath stuff alot and there is some items that I would purchase.

Did you get this months bag? If so what do you think?

Fortune Cookie Soap Win

If you remember in September I heard about The Soap Box and got in on the fall box and shared what was in that box with you ( CLICK THIS TO SEE WHAT I GOT ) and started following them on facebook.

Well recently they ran a facebook contest where you had to log onto the site, Fortune Cookie Soap and create a wishlist with a value of $50 and you had to send in that link for a chance to win your wishlist.

Well guess what? I was the lucky winner and was sent all my wishlist items.

Here is what I won. I actually grouped in to make it easier in writing this post.

First up is the soaps:

Top row: Clementine Ginger, sample of Cram Your Face in my Sweet Pumpkin Pie bath bomb, Apple Cider and Cram Your Face in my Sweet Pumpkin Pie.

Bottom row: Hot Apple Cider, Lilac and Caramel Apple.

Next up is the bath items:
Bath Melts in Hot Chocolate, Bath Fizzy in Strawberry Fields and a Bath Fizzy in Cram Your Face in my Sweet Pumpkin Pie.

Then finally I have been hearing alot about these so I wanted to give them a try:
Shampoo bar and Conditioner bar in Pumpkin Coconut Crunch. I have never used bars like this for my hair but I am excited to try them out and hopefully if I like them I will repurchase. They would be perfect for traveling I think.
So this is what I got for my prize win and I really love the soaps they make and send. I have actually used up one of the soaps I got in the fall box and loved it. I will be doing a post at the end of the month when I talk about the products I have used this month.

Do any of these soaps interest you? What do you love about your soaps?

Dead Heat Promo Stop (Book Excerpt)

Today I am on a promo tour for the book Dead Heat by Lisa Nowak and I want to thank Reading Addiction Blog Tours for allowing me to take part.
Reading Addiction Blog Tours

After Alex’s mentor Cole dies in a wreck at the speedway, Alex takes his truck and trailer to his wife, then goes back to the track, where his grief overcomes him and he collapses.

Chapter 2
For a long time, I lay on that wet asphalt, wishing I was dead. It’s like I’m not even here, like the hurt’s so big I disappear in it. Something soft brushes my shoulder, near the base of my neck. Pain knifes through me, and I choke on a sob. Then I feel that touch again. I lurch up off the track to look around. Nothing.

I’m soaked, numb clear through, but the chill don’t do a thing to dull the fire of losing Cole. That wells up so big and powerful, I can’t hold it back. I scream as loud as I can, till I’m still yelling, but no sound comes out.

I can’t do this. No way can I go back to how things were. Didn’t I do all I could to make sure nothing like this would happen? All them lies I told, why couldn’t they keep him safe?

I shove the wet hair from my eyes and go get my bike. I rip out of the parking lot hard and fast, daring the cops to come after me, hoping I skid under the wheels of some car.

I got no idea where I’m going, but I wind up at Ivan’s Automotive, the shop where I work. Soon as I pull into the lot, the answer comes. My bike might not’ve done me in, but I know something that will.
I find a piston in the scrap bin outside and use it to bust the glass in the back door. When I get in, I turn on the office light, but leave the rest of the place dark. Don’t want nobody calling the cops before I finish this.

I pick the ’89 Taurus ’cause emission standards aren’t so strict for a car that old. Once I got the keys, I grab one of the hoses we use to vent exhaust from the shop. I stick one end on the tail pipe and put the key in the ignition so I can roll the window down a little. I snake the other end through till it’s resting on the passenger side floorboards. There’s a big gap, so I find some towels and cram ’em in to stop it up.

When I crank the engine, I have one thought of Momma, but the pain’s so big and deep it chases even that away. I close my eyes. For a second, I wonder if I’ll see Cole, or if it’ll just be over, but either way it don’t matter.

There’s this whir, and all four windows start going down. What the hell? I jab the master control to raise ’em. The second I take my finger off, they head south again. Are you kidding me? Real quick, I roll ’em up, kill the engine, and get out of the car to pull the fuse. Whatever’s going on, them windows can’t work if they don’t have no juice.

I get back in and crank the starter. The engine revs for just a second before it dies. I try again. The car sputters and stalls. One more shot, and this time it won’t run for nothing. Pissed, I twist the key and don’t let go until the starter sucks every bit of life out of the battery.

“Son of a bitch!” I slam my fist against the wheel, beating it again and again. Finally, I got nothing left. A sob grabs my throat and I slump forward, pain crashing down in waves that want to drown me.
Then something touches my shoulder. I jump and swing around. This time I see him, right beside me.
Cole. Only not Cole—he’s sorta sunk down into the seat a little, and the fabric shows right through him.

The shock stops my breath. I stare at him and he stares back, sadder than I ever seen him. That look is so damn Cole it rips a hole in me. I got no doubt that if he could, he’d take every bit of my pain and carry it himself.

When he puts his hand out, I feel that feather touch again.
“I’m sorry, Ace,” he says, “but I can’t let you do this.”

Glymm Bag October Edition

I am a little late in posting my Glymm Bag post as I usually try to post the day I get the bag but last week I had already planned my week out before hand so there was no room to post until this week.

Before I show you what I got in my Glymm Bag let me tell you a little bit about Glymm.

  • Its a Canadian monthly beauty box subscription service. Only available to Canadians.
  • Its $12 a month and its a recurring charge. You can pay monthly (like I do) or every 6 months or yearly.
  • They now offer a gift subscription.
  • There is no waiting list.
  • You can expect to receive 4-5 luxury samples (although they claim to offer deluxe sized samples)
  • Each month with Glymm you will recieve Glymm points (subscription, monthly product surveys, purchasing items in the Glymm store and referring friends) that you can in turn redeem when you are buying something in the Glymm Store.

Photobucket

With that being said lets get into this month’s October Glymm Bag shall we.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we got a special edition bag called Pink Ribbon. The bag itself is valued at $12.00 and it came with this pink ribbon to wear.

You will also notice that Glymm listened to its subscribers and brought back the product cards. Can I just say that I love having this card again. It makes writing the posts so much easier instead of going between my blog and the Glymm site.

This is a sample size of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Oil. They sent this out to announce a special edition Mama Glymm Box coming out soon that is geared toward mothers and mothers to be. I have to say I am curious to find out more about this and who it will be geared towards.

This is a new to me company and products. Its Miss Jessie’s Baby Buttercreme. Its a leave in hair treatment for dry hair. The card says you will get 5 uses out of it. I don’t hair dry hair thankfully so I might pass this on to someone who does.

Sample size: 2 oz for $9

Full Size: 59ml for $9, 237ml for $32 and 473ml for $58

When I did the conversion it worked out to be a full size sample at 59ml.
I have never  heard of this, Lash Card. This little card board card is suppose to prevent mascara from smudging and clumping. Sadly this isn’t something I could see me using as it looks to be just something that would be awkward to hold while I was putting on my mascara. What do you guys think? Apparently you will get four uses from this two pack Lash Card.

Sample is 2 Lash Cards for $1.40 (that’s for the two of them)

Full Size is  a box of 10 for $6.99
Another new to me brand is Femme Couture. They graciously sent us a full size of their Lightening Lash Mascara. It will build your lashes without the clumping and last all day and night. I haven’t opened this yet since open mascara only lasts 6 months. Hopefully I will get to it soon. I got the shade Blackest Black.

Full size is 11.3g for $14.00
In a previous box I received products from Cyberderm (they sent some skin care items in those syringe looking packaging).  This time they sent these little tubes of H2O Hydration and Every Morning Sun Whip. You are suppose to use the Hydration before the Sun Whip.

Sample size: No idea what size these are (but they aren’t deluxe)

Full Size: Hydration: 50ml for $60.00 and Sun Whip 50ml for $38.00

With the hydration you are suppose to get 10 uses and the Sun Whip 2 uses

So my thoughts this month are so so. Its not one of my favorite beauty subscription services and the products did pay for the subscription. The bag is super cute and the mascara and baby oil will be used the most. I will give the Cyberderm a try but really don’t see me using the lash Card or the Baby Buttercreme.

What did you guys think of your Glymm bag this month?
