• Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev (This is because of all the talk on twitter on Tuesday morning about this book. So I have to blame them for this purchase.) LOL

This week the only books I bought were from a second hand bookstore in my area. They are super cheap $3 for all books and children’s I believe is $1.50.

I bought:
-The Polar Express: Trip to the North Pole by Ellen Weiss
-Mates, Dates, and Sole Survivors by Cathy Hopkins
-Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
-Model Railways
-That Summer by Sarah Dessen
-Crazy About Lili by William Weintraub

The store is called Robertson’s. Its very well laid out and not cramped all together like some second handbook stores. Plus everything is well labelled so you can find what your looking for.

If you are in the Montreal area and want to go its located in Beaconsfield. Take highway 20 and get off at St. Charles Boulevard. Its 275 Elm Avenue.

On the way home from lunch with Donna on Thursday Michael and I had to stop into the Metro grocery store in the mall. We walked around for a bit and then went in to Clio (a cute little bookstore) and Michael picked up two books.

-The Berenstain Bears Class Trip by Jan& Mike Berenstain
-My Own VERY LONELY FIREFLY Coloring Book by Eric Carle

Earlier in the week I went to Chapters to buy The Backyardigans No Pests Allowed #13 and The Backyardigans Camp Walkaplanka #15 for Michael. He had been reading both sets of books (they are both part of a series). I went into the store saying that I was only going in for those two books but funny enough when I got to the cash Momzillas (Jill Kargman), Free Style (Linda Nieves-Powell), Fire in the Blood (Irene Nemirovsky) and Elegance (Kathleen Tessaro) were all on the counter with the Backyardigans books. Funny how that happens.

This was the only book bought this week. Its technically a Mother’s Day gift. The reason I got the book is because the last week of May, Lori will be at a local bookstore promoting the book. I only dicovered this author about two – three weeks ago from Donna. She is a local author and this is her 5th young adult book she has written. Check back the last week of May when I will be doing a Lori Weber week. Filled with reviews of all the books, possible pictures and meeting her.

Today when I went into Chapters to pick up a gift certificate for a gift and for some reason I was lured farther into the store. Several books seemed to follow me around the store. Needless to say I ended up walking out with:

-Lethally Blond by Kate White. I have read her previous books and loved them.
-Sail by James Patterson. I thought I read this but for some reason I don’t recall it
-Thinking of you by Jill Mansell. I saw this on the bargain table.
-The Perfectly True Tales of a Perfect Size 12 by Robin Gold. I walked by this on the bargain table and love the cover.
-I love you Mommy by Jillian Harker. I knew Michael would love this book and it was on the bargain table too.
-Audrey Wait! by Robin Benway. This has been on my TB list ever since Alea mentioned her blurb on it.

The only book I bought this week was this one Friend Me by Cathy Hopkins. Its three books in one: Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras; Mates, Dates, and Cosmic Kisses; Mates, Dates, and Designer Divas. It was released April 7, 2009. These were previously released a few years ago. What a great way to start the series in a volume like this.

The only reason I bought this book was to support the Buy Indie Day and to support a local Indie Bookstore.
