Pampered New York Socialite and dressage rider, Kensington Pope, has been exiled by her jet-setting parents to her aunt’s Rodeo Academy in Wyoming. She wants nothing to do with the rough and tumble students there, especially one particularly handsome cowboy, Javier.

But she won’t be there for long. She has a plan in place to break out after her next international competition.

Javier Cruz takes one look at the spoiled city girl and instantly dismisses her. The school of tough knocks has already educated him on what the important things in life are, and he has bigger things on his plate. He’s counting down the days until his eighteenth birthday when he can pull his younger siblings from the foster care program and reunite his family. But as he gets to know Kensi, he sees a kindred spirit and discovers there’s more to her than meets the eye.

Kensi begins to question her desire to flee the ranch as her relationship to Javier deepens and she learns
the importance of family. But when he discovers her escape plan, will he be able to trust her again? And when tragedy comes to the ranch, will Kensi be able to step up and take her place in the family?

I quickly have to thank RockStar Book Tour for allowing me to be a part of the book tour for this book. This was such a fun and cute read that I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to where this series will go. This was super fast and a quick read. I was hooked right from the beginning and read it in one sitting.

I have to say that at first Kensi rubbed me the wrong way because she came off as this person who thinks they are better then everyone else and I hate those kind of people, but as the story progressed I could see that she was actually just a girl who was in dire need of attention and she got that from Javier and you could see he broke down her walls and she ended up being a character I liked. He knew that deep down that the Kensi she was portraying wasn’t the real Kensi and it actually takes something to happen to make Kensi realize that she wanted to be a better person.

I loved the connection between Javier and Kensi it was sweet and tender and not rushed. There are so many books that I find rush relationships between characters that it makes it so predicatable but not here.

I also loved Javier right off the bat he was that bad boy but you knew that there was a reason and you wanted to know more. My heart broke hearing his story but its left me wanting more of it so I can’t wait for the next book to come out to find out if he and Kensi end up together and if he wins his legal battle.

Sadly upon searching I don’t see a next one yet. Hoping it will be out soon.

Sunday’s In Bed With

Welcome to our Sundays In Bed With… Meme! The meme that dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning? Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

This is being hosted by two of the sweetest people I have the privilege of knowing in real life, Kate and Kim. Sadly we don’t talk like we use to because you know real life happens but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them both. If you click on the banner it will take you right to the Midnight Book Girl blog.

Its a holiday here in Quebec (St Jean Baptiste Day) so basically everything is closed here today which is okay since I managed to get our groceries done yesterday and we even went strawberry picking  so I am thinking it will be a chill day with lots of reading perhaps along with laundry and prepping for a BBQ tonight. I don’t think I will be going to fireworks just because of the bugs and I am still chomped up from last weekend when we were invited to our friends place for a BBQ and we were outdoors the whole time.

What are you doing today?

This past week I read:

Depth Of Field: A Pippa Greene NovelLittle Bigfoot, Big CityA Cowboy's SweetheartLeading Lines

Neverworld Wake

This week I plan on reading:

To All the Boys I've Loved Before (To A…Golden Hour: A Pippa Greene NovelP.S. I Still Love YouAlways and Forever, Lara Jean

Library Loot Haul June 2018

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Linda from Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries.

Yesterday while I was on facebook someone had posted the teaser trailer for To All The Boys I Loved Before and it looks really good. I can’t wait to watch this when it comes out in August. Will you be watching this?

So I figured I would try and squeeze in Jenny Han’s series before it starts in August so I went to the library and borrowed:

To All the Boys I've Loved BeforeAlways and Forever, Lara JeanP.S. I Still Love You

Have you read this series?

What did you borrow this week?

Once upon a time, back at Darrow-Harker School, Beatrice Hartley and her six best friends were the cool kids, the beautiful ones. Then the shocking death of Jim—their creative genius and Beatrice’s boyfriend—changed everything.

One year after graduation, Beatrice is returning to Wincroft—the seaside estate where they spent so many nights sharing secrets, crushes, plans to change the world—hoping she’ll get to the bottom of the dark questions gnawing at her about Jim’s death. But as the night plays out in a haze of stilted jokes and unfathomable silence, Beatrice senses she’s never going to know what really happened.

Then a mysterious man knocks on the door. Blithely, he announces the impossible: time for them has become stuck, snagged on a splinter that can only be removed if the former friends make the harshest of decisions. Now Beatrice has one last shot at answers–and at life.

I quickly want to thank Rockstar Book Tour for allowing me to be a part of this book tour and for sending me a ecopy of the book to read.

This is my first time reading Marisha Pessl books. Her previous books were Special Topics in Calamity Physics and Night Film. I actually have Night Film sitting on my book case that I bought and haven’t read yet but after reading Neverworld Wake I am excited to pick it up and read this summer. Especially if Night Film is anything like this.

This book was definitely full of things that I love when I am reading a murder mystery kind of book such as twist and turns and things you don’t expect. I wanted to savor this book but I practically devoured it pretty much in a day because I just couldn’t leave that world and needed to know what was going to happen next.

I have to say that this book left me shaking my head wondering what just happened? Its been a few days since I read the book and I am still sitting here in awe of it. If you know me in real life you know I don’t reread books but I literally want to reread this because that ending make me feeling like did I miss clues along the way.

I think that the cover is actually one that suits this book to a tee and its not very often that I will say that. I know I will say the cover is pretty but to have one that actually suits the book is something else. The cover definitely captures the book and the book is one you would probably pick up if it was facing you in a bookstore. Plus do you notice anything about the cover? It wasn’t until I had put it down that I saw it.What do you see?

I realize as I sit here to do the review that all I can honestly say is read the synopsis and go and pick up the book because if I tell you anything more I will be giving the book away and I don’t want to do that. I don’t think this book will disappoint.

I could definitely see this being made into a movie that’s how good the writing was for me. Marisha creates this fantastic world that makes you feel like you are a part of the book and that its real.

If your looking for the perfect summer read then I have to highly recommend this.
