It’s Monday What are you reading? # 14

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list.

The wonderful host of this weekly meme is Shelia from Book Journey. You can check out her blog to find out all the details on how to take part in this fun weekly meme. I should warn you though that this can add to an ever increasing TBR pile or wishlist.

Its hard to believe its time for another It’s Monday, what are you reading post. Where did the week go?

Sadly I didn’t get a whole lot of reading done last week. The reason is because I was super busy in real life doing things. In a matter of 10 days Michael will be turning 8 years old (where does the time go?) and in 12 days we will be having a family party so I have been doing a massive spring clean up getting the house ready for company.

So those piles of books I have lying around need to be put away. So I managed to put two boxes of books away to drop off at the school very soon and now I need to box my other books to clean up the shelves. I am hoping over the summer to have my bookcases built in the basement’s family/play room so that I can put them all back into place.

My current read last week and current read this week is:

I am still reading it and I can say I am a little more the half way through it.

I also had to start:

This is for an upcoming tour next week.

This week the plan is to finish Across the Universe and Beside Still Waters. What about you?

Its hard to believe its time for another It’s Monday, what are you reading post. Where did the week go?

As I am writting this I am sick. Thankfully it really started on the Friday and I was able to rest since Michael had no school which meant we were in for the day and in for the weekend. I thought at first it was allergies but once the headache sat in with the stuffiness I knew it was a head cold.

My current read last week and current read this week is:

I am still reading it. Once I got sick I didn’t pick up the book.

I ended up reading:

All I have to say is OMG why didn’t I read this sooner. I loved both books. I can’t wait for the third one to come out.

Since I was coughing, sneezing and dabbing a watery eye it was hard to hold a book so I decided to use my kobo this weekend. Sadly as I was going through my Kobo wondering what I was going to read and I quickly realized that I lost alot of my ARCs because the time had expired on them. I think for some reason I thought once I downloaded it onto my Kobo that it would be okay and that I would have them sadly I was mistaken. Lesson learned!

This is when I realized I only had a few days left to read Red Glove so I picked up White Cat from my TBR pile and read that and loved it and I was so happy I had Red Glove to read right after.

This week the plan is to finish Across the Universe.

Its slowly starting to look Spring. The snow is slowly melting but I have to admit that its still pretty cold out there. Right now as I am writing this its -4 (-11 with the windchill) and they are saying a chance of snow. AGH!

On the bright side it is the last week of March (where did the time go?) and I can’t believe how the days are just slipping by. I am anxious for summer to come because that means vacation time (and I need a vacation!). I am really looking forward to heading south again. We are once again going to be driving to Illinois to visit family.

So last week my current reads were:

I finally finished The Weird Sisters. It feels like I have been reading this one for awhile now and honestly I probably have. I am currently working on my review for it and hoping to have it up this week.

All that I have planned to read this week is this one:

Should I finish Across the Universe this week, this is the next one up:

It was a quiet reading week and I really wanted to get through The Weird Sister because I have been reading it for so long. I am hoping that Across the Universe will be a quicker reader.

Have you read any of these books? Any plans to read any of them?

Its the first official day of Spring but looking out my window I am thinking that Mother Nature didn’t get that memo. Its been snowing for a couple of hours now and I see its staying. Environment Canada said 5 to 10cm of the white stuff but yet The Weather Channel said nope more like rain with snow mixed it. Who do you believe?

Its hard to believe its already Monday again, where did the week go?

Last week was a rough week in reading but there was a few things going on IRL (in real Life) that pulled me from reading.

I was currently reading this last week:

I ended up having to put it down because I was finding it hard to read. The main characters mother had cancer and brain tumor. IRL a very good friend of mine who I grew up with in New Brunswick was in a hospital here in Quebec (sadly I was about 4 hours from there and couldn’t get to visit her). She was here because she was gettting her tumor on the brain removed. So as I was reading this I kept thinking of her. Thankfully the dr removed what he needed and my friend got a clean bill of health.

So I ended up picking up and reading this:

I admit I fell of the book buying ban and bought this. Since Michael’s spring break earlier this month we ended up watching Cake Boss and loving it. I have watched Cake Boss before but since watching it again with Michael I admit I was curious about Buddy and wanted to read it. My review for this is coming up very soon.

The other book I picked up and currently reading is:

I am only a few chapters in but really liking it so far.

So this week all I have planned to do is finishing reading both of these books:

Wishing everyone a great reading week.

What a difference a week has made. If you remember last Monday I shared some pictures of what was happening outside my window and today was a completely different scene. It was above 0 and the sun was out. Almost spring like. On the plus side this is the last week of winter so hopefully the nicer weather is finally coming.

Last week I read:

This was mentioned last week as being almost finished and I did finish it right after I posted It’s Monday.

I also read:

Books 1 to 4 were borrowed from my library and book 5 was received for a review recently. My review will be coming up for these books in a little while.

This is my current read:

I finally picked this one up to read and so far so good. I am not that far into the book but I am enjoying it.

I am hoping that once I finish the above book that I will be able to get to:
and

So, this is what I have read and what I plan to read. What about you?

Happy reading everyone.

I thought I would start off my It’s Monday, what are you reading post? with these two pictures:

This is the scene out my front window right now. Its been like this for a couple of hours.

School wasn’t cancelled so Michael’s spring break didn’t get extended. Which didn’t please him. He is actually starting to get tired of this weather and is looking forward to spring. We thought there might be a hint of it this past weekend because it was mild and raining all of Saturday but waking up yesterday and today we realize that even though spring is around the corner that we still have to frin and bare whats left of winter.

With this miserable weather I have decided that I am going to take it easy and spend whats left of the morning/day reading. I only have to get Michael at the bust stop at 2:30pm so that gives me about four hours of reading.

I have been out shoveling the steps numerous times (so that I can get mail/deliveries) today in hopes of getting something. Although I haven’t seen the mailman yet but I think I just missed a FedEx delivery because my drive way wasn’t cleaned out completely. AGH!!! I hate winter!

Anyways back to books. Last week I had these two books to read:

I finished The Liberation of Alice Love and I am just a few chapters away from finishing Staying with Daisy. (Which I will be finishing today) and both books will be reviewed this week.

So this week on my radar is:

I will be reading this two this week.

Happy reading everyone

It’s Monday What are you reading? # 8

It’s Monday, What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila who blogs at Book Journey.

As I was getting ready to write up this post I realized that I have been doing this now for two months straight. I love taking part in this weekly meme because not only does it make me accountable for what I say I plan on reading this week but it also gives me the chance to see what you are all reading. This is a good and bad thing because after seeing what you guys are reading I am constantly adding books to my wish list.

This is also the last Monday in February and I am so happy its over and looking ahead I can see spring peeking out behind the snow clouds. Just one more month and things should be getting better.

Today was a mix bag of weather from snow, rain, freezing rain and now back to snow. Thankfully its not cold out yet so nothing is freezing but once it does it will be a mess out there with all the slush.

I had to brave the elements and go out. I was hoping that I could have got Michael into the spring break library activity today but it was filled and not one cancellation. It wasn’t a wasted trip because I had over due books (so much for my New Years resolution not to owe late fees) and Michael picked up a few graphic novels to read over the week.

Last week I kept my reading very simple and light. Okay I was basically reading a bunch of graphic novels to see if they were age appropriate for Michael to read. This is what I read:

I am actually looking forward to getting more of the Lunch Lady as I think Michael will really enjoy them. I am also looking forward to borrowing number 2 and 3 in the Max Finder mystery graphic novels when the come in from the library.

Now for this week I plan on reading:

Both books sound really good and I am excited to get into Jill Mansell’s book. I have read her previous five books and enjoyed them. Check back next week for my reviews as they are scheduled for then.

Anyways this is what I read last week and what I plan to read this week. What about you?
