Books Bought # 26

Books Bought is a weekly meme that is hosted here on Cindy’s Love of Books.

This is a super easy meme and anyone can take part. All you need to do is grab this logo and write your post on your blog and then link back to me letting me know you took part.

With this meme all you have to do is list the books you recently bought. Simple as that.

I love sales/fairs no matter what kind they are you can always find some good stuff and this past week I was lucky enough to find some really good books. This is what I managed to snag.

I have to give a big cheer out to the previous owner of the books whoever the person(s) is/are because the books are like brand new they are in amazing shape.

-How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier

The series Confession of Georgia Nicolson by Louise Rennison
-#1 Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snoggling
-#2 on the bright side, i’m now the girlfriend of a sex god
-#3 knocked out by my nunga-nungas
-#4 dancing in my nuddy-pants
-#5 away laughing on a fast camel
-#6 then he ate my boy entrancers
-#7 startled by his furry shorts
-#8 love is a many trousered thing
-#9 stop in the name of pants!

I was really surprised that I managed to find the whole set apart from #10 which wasn’t there and I discovered that it was just released so that might be why that wasn’t there.

What did you pick up this week? Have you read any of the above books?

Books Bought # 23

Books Bought is a meme that I am hosting here on Cindy’s Love of Books. As my readers already know I am a huge book buyer and more so since I have begun to review books.

Books Bought is a meme where you share with your readers the books you have bought. It can be weekly, monthly etc just as long as they are books that bought for whatever source. (online, store, sales etc)

If you would like to take part in the Books Bought Meme all you have to do is snag the logo and post about it on your blog and link back letting me know you have done so and I will stop by and check what goodies you bought.

Please note that Books Bought might lead to more books on your next visit to a bookstore.

This is what I bought this week past week, even though I said I wouldn’t but I couldn’t resist.

-Good Neighbors Book 1 & 2 by Holly Black (graphic novels)
-Tithe by Holly Black
I ended up buying these because Holly Black is coming to Chapters in Pointe Claire on Nov 4th along with Cassandra Clare and Scott Westerfeld.

-Magic Tree House 1 & 2 by Mary Pope Osborne
These are for Michael because he is starting to enjoy chapter books and our friend at Chapters recommended these for him.

This is another book for Michael that I bought him. With all the is going on in my area with two attempted kidnappings I really wanted Michael to know what was going on. We have borrowed this several times from the library and I figured we should own our own copy.

Another thing I bought at chapters which isn’t shown is Ready, Set, Go: Travel Set. It was on the bargain table and it consists of two passport wallets, and four coordinated luggage tags. The are beige plaid with brown trim and blue plaid with brown trim. I thought this would be great for when I go to NY.

Friday after having lunch with Donna we decided to head to La Book-tique to look around well needless to say some books managed to fall into my hands. Here is what I picked up there:

-Making Your Mind Up by Jill Mansell
-Iggie’s house by Judy Blume (never heard of this before.)
-Then again maybe I won’t by Judy Blume (never heard of this one either)
-BK 1 Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye by Geronimo Stilton (I bought this one because he was at a children’s bookstore today.)
-The Spiderwick Chronicles BK 1: The Field Guide by Holly Black (This one I spotted on the counter and picked it up because she is coming to town.)

Then today at Babar Books for the Geronimo Stilton signing I bought Book #2 The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid.

This is what I bought, what did you buy?

Books Bought # 22

Books Bought is a meme that I am hosting show casing the books I have bought recently. I just checked and its been almost a month since I bought books. I am really impressed that I have held off that long.

Anyways, there is no picture this week of what I bought because for some reason nothing wants to add to my blogger. Plus I am starting to feel a little sick.

So here is what I bought this week. What goodies did you buy if any?
For Michael I bought:
-Thomas’ Milkshake Muddle (found this at Dollarama for $1)
-Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

For Me:
-Precious Moments: Gift treasury (found this at Dollarama for $2. I love precious moments)
-Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn (this was on the bargain table)
-Uglies by Scott Westerfeld (he is coming to town in Nov)
-City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare (she is also coming to town in Nov)

Books Bought # 21

Books Bought is a meme that I am hosting right here on Cindy’s Love of Books.

Books Bought is a meme where you list your books or bookish items bought either in a week or month or whenever.

The only catch to this meme is that they have to be items that you physically have bought either at a indie store, big chain store, yard sale, library sale etc.

If you would like to take part all you have to do is leave a comment here letting me know you have done so and I will go and check out what goodies you bought.

When I got my new bookcase to review I realized that I needed something to put on top to showcase some books so I went to Chapters and found these great A-Z book ends. They are kinda heavy and covered in a fake leather. Which I think look really good.

The second item I bought was Forever by Judy Blume and I bought this because of a twitter conversation I was having with Rebecca about the book and about Judy Blume. I think in January 2010 she might be hosting a Judy Blume Challenge although I am not quite sure.

This is what I bought this week, what did you buy?

Books Bought # 20

Books Bought is a weekly/monthly meme that I am hosting on my blog. Please feel free to take part. If you do please let me know so that I can stop by and check out what books you bought. Just leave me a comment in this post.

Books Bought can be done whenever you buy books and you just list them so that your readers can see what you bought. These books you list are books that you physically have bought. No matter where you bought them just as long as you buy them.

This past Thursday I went on another field trip with Donna and we went to Chapters book store. I am not quite sure what Donna bought but she will probably list her books on her blog. The reason I don’t know what she bought as because we didn’t stay together the whole time. She went one way and I went the other. I do know that we both had a little list of books to look at and perhaps buy.

We did take time out from shopping to go up to starbucks and grab some drinks (hot chocolate w/whip cream for me and Donna got a strawberry and cream cold drink) and to talk about all kinds of things.

Anyways when it was time for Donna’s husband to pick us up this is what found its way to the cash with me:

The above books were bought and the reason I bought them is because:

October 8th/09 Kelley Armstrong will be stopping by Chapters in my neighborhood for a book signing and I really want to go and meet her.
-The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong (July 2008)
-The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong (April 2009)

October 21st/09 Claire Holden Rothman will be at my local library as part of the public library week. I am also taking part in the PCPL Reads Program. (Its for residents in my area to read and talk about the same book.)
-The Heart Specialist by Claire Holden Rothman (Pub Date: March 2009)

October 28th/09 Bill Haugland was a local news anchorman in Montreal and has written this book. He will be at my local library.
-Mobile 9 by Bill Haugland (Pub Date: April 2009)

Then when I was looking for the two Kelley Armstrong books I saw this book and remember reading some reviews on the book and I wanted to read it.
-Lipstick Apology by Jennifer Jabaley (Pub Date: August 2009)

Mister Maker is a tv show on Treehouse Canada that Michael just loves. He has been asking for this book for awhile so I manage to find it and picked it up for him.
-Mister Maker: Lets Make More! (Pub Date August 2009)
