OMG is it really that time of the week again? It just feels like yesterday I was writing my the previous weeks post.

I am late in getting this up today. I meant to get this up earlier then now but its been a crazy week and I am currently not feeling the urge to post and read. Things have been very stressful IRL and I feel as though I want to run away and honestly May is not coming fast enough for me. I really need a vacation and to step away from real life for a week.

Sadly this morning I didn’t get to stay in bed to read because we had a 10am hockey game.
We have one more game in our season and from there it will be determined if we go to regionals or not.

So not much time for reading but if I could I would be in bed with:

I am still reading this and I am almost 2/3 done and really enjoying it. Has any one else read this yet?

A Morning of shopping, chatting and swaping

When I am not reading or blogging I like to hang out on facebook and chat with fellow Canadians about make up and deals etc. I am in this one group on facebook and we recently decided to organize a swap and I was so lucky to get an awesome local lady, Mihaela. Sadly she is not a blogger but perhaps I can convert her hehe.

When we contacted each other we decided that we were going to change up the budget that was given to us because we weren’t going to mail them out so why not add what we would have spent on shipping to the gift.

I had so much fun shopping for Mihaela and she told me the same thing. So we decided that we would meet up today (Saturday) at a huge shopping mall and we would perhaps do some shopping and then go and sit for coffee and do the swap.

Driving to the mall was fun and sadly I had no Canadian magic to guide  my way LOL. I have only been to this mall a few times and every time I go I get lost. Its roughly 20 minutes from me and requires me to take two highways. There was alot of turning around and doing the route all over again but it was fine because I didn’t mind.

I finally made it to the mall safe and sound and managed to scope out a good parking place that didn’t require me to park 10 miles away like you would normally have to do at this mall because its always busy.

The day before meeting up we shared some sneak peeks. Which peeked our curiousity even more.

As you can see Mihaela wrapped each one up in pretty purple tissue paper.

Isn’t the box beautiful? I have actually put this on my bedside table. The two pictures are taken from Mihaela when she sent them to me. I knew I wouldn’t get pictures other wise and I wanted you to see the before product.

 
This is what was inside the box. She graciously gave me:

-The red tube is to put perfume in so you can pop it in your purse (perfect to travel with)

  • Julep Popova Trina Turk Fall 2012 collection (I have bee wanting a nice green polish for sometime now)
  • Misa #285 epiphany (its a gold glittery kind of polish)
  • Essence Cherry Blossom Girl in  04 It’s Peach not Cherry
  • Maybelline color show in 320 Green With Envy (this is sort of a dupe for Essie’s Mint Candy Apple)
  • OPI top coat (which I really needed since I threw out my old one)
-Lip items:
  • Revlon color stay ultimate liquid Lipstick in 030 miracle mauve
  • The All natural Face vegan lip gloss in the shade frosted bronze
  • Maybelline Color Whispers in 80 made-it mauve (this has been something i really wanted to try)
-Julep daylight defence for hands and face with SPF 30
 
– Marcelle T Wist Push Up Mascara instant Volume (this is a brand I have never tried but after hearing about it I am really excited to try it and it will be the one I use next.)
~cake milk made hand creme (I have only tried a think or two from Cake and I loved it so I am excited to try this out)
 
-Sonia Kashuk concealer palette. (I am so excited to try this out and more so since finding out this will be sold in Canadian target stores. I always need concealer)
 
-Essence Sun Club in the shade 02 Long beach
 
-Essence silky touch blush in the shade 20 baby doll
 
-Cute earrings and a ring
 
It was so much fun meeting someone new and I am sure we will be friends long after this. We didn’t do as much shopping as I thought we would have but still it was so much fun and it was so nice to hang out and chit chat about all kinds of things.

Thanks so much Mihaela for all the goodies you generously gave me. I can’t wait to dip into them and use everything.

Ipsy Bag February Edition

  I have to admit that I am on the fence with Ipsy this month. I wasn’t blown away by them this month and you will find out shortly why and you can tell me what you think.

Ipsy is still one of the cheapest subscriptions and you can subscribe to them for $10 a month. They are US based but ship to Canada.

Lets get into this month’s bag shall we.

As you can see from the picture there is nothing really special about this months bag (the bag itself is a black shiny one with an Ipsy label sewn inside it) in my own opinion. I just don’t feel the WOW factor with this perhaps its because they were giving out spoilers before getting the bag and that has made be just like it, I don’t know.

There are a few items I am excited to try out and those are:

  • Pop Beauty Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara. I got it in the shade Smokey Black
  • Pixi Flawless & Poreless face primer.
  • Coastal Scents shadow sample palette. This was the cutest thing. The four shades are smaller then a dime. I think there was two different sets that were sent out and I got the shades Dark Goldenrod, Sunbeam, Golden Globe and Dark Golden Olive. I think there is alot you can do with this little palette.
  • Finally Mica Beauty Cosmetics eye liner in a black shade. I have never used an eye liner like this before so this should be fun.

Finally the one item I am no thrilled about is the Lash Card. We have gotten this in a previous subscription service.

Do you make your bed each morning?

-Yes I make it each and every morning. I find it makes the room look clean.

City or Country?

-Having lived in both places I have to admit that I love the city but there are times that I love the country. I think sometimes with the hussle and bussle of the city you need to escape to the country to regroup.

Most embarrassing moment?

-I have several one that I would really love to share but I can’t sorry guys. The one I will share happened last year at BEA. They had moved the shuttle buses and I was wheeling my suitcase to the bus and for some reason I thought it was all a side walk but it wasn’t so needless to say I tripped and fell and there was a ton of people around and they all came running when they saw me fall. I was so embarrassed and I had to get on the bus with these people. They continued to ask if I was okay.

What do you think of book trailers?

-I usually don’t watch book trailers for books unless its something that really interests me or someone is talking about a specific one.

OMG is it really that time of the week again? It just feels like yesterday I was writing my the previous weeks post.

Well thankfully this week was a little quieter with not much excitement. Thankfully my father in law is okay and he will be going for follow up appointments this month and next. The only thing that really happened this week was Michael was home most of the week because he had a sore throat and slight fever. He rebounded really quickly.

I also got a slight change in looks this week

Other then that nothing much happening. It was another busy weekend with a CBC Hockey nation training  morning and then a hockey game and Sunday brings us a hockey game again and then a curling game. I am happy that Michael enjoys the sports and its nice to see him playing and enjoying himself.

So not much time for reading but if I could I would be in bed with:

I started reading this on Wednesday and I am really enjoying this one as much as I enjoyed Legend. I am about half way through the book.

A Sweet Surprise Delivery

I think one of the best things you can ever get is an unexpected delivery. That is exactly what happened yesterday afternoon, the door bell rang and I had no clue to who it was and when I opened the door I was handed this:

Its a gift bag from Eos. Oh what can it be? I totally had no idea this was coming so I was beyond thrilled to get this.  Thanks so much Caroline for sending this to me. I am so excited.

Inside the bag was a eos lip balm in the flavor Pomegranate Raspberry which is a new product that is going to be available in stores in March. I am so excited to have a sneak peek of this and check back in March when I will post my review of it.

Another new item I believe, is the duo pack of eos. (I think they are new since I couldn’t find anything on the site about them) They look like cute Easter Eggs in the box. They come in the flavor Strawberry Sorbet (pink) and Passion Fruit (light purple). They both smell so delicious.

Finally the last item in the bag is the Tropical Tree Growing Kit in pomegranate. Its an all natural growing kit that will produce flowers and edible fruit. Its by Eco-Culture Seracon and their link is www.seracon.ca

Once again I would like to thank Caroline for sending me this awesome package, I was totally surprised and happy when I got this.

Lets get into the Janaury box shall we. It came wrapped in brown paper and inside that brown paper was this box. Nothing fancy and I don’t mind.

 Upon unboxing it I was great with fake rose petal which are always nice and you can see that the theme is romance and the box is called Filled With Love.

 Everything was packaged really nicely and I wish I would have taken a picture to show you but I was too excited and wanted to see what I got.

So the top left item is Cherry Bomb Edible scrub. You apply it to the desired area and your partner can lick it off. This actually smells really good.

Inside the red 4EVER container is a Bath Truffle. I actually thought it was something you would eat until I read that its actually something you drop into your bath. This is another item that smells so good that you want to eat it.

Next to that is Midnight Tuberose Bubblin Bath. This is another item that you pour under running water for a luxurious bath.

The bottom row contains Red Velvet Whipped Sugar Scrub. This is something you would use in the shower because you have to apply it to desired areas and then rince it off.

Finally the last item is Choc Cherry Lotion Bar and what you do is rub it on your hands and apply to desired areas so its like a lotion but in bar format.

Everything smelled so good and delicious and I am honestly excited to try everything out very soon.

I have one more box coming and that will be the February. From there I will decided if I will keep the subscription going or not. I had some issues and right now I am kind of on the fence. I would love to give the company the benefit of a doubt but actions speak louder then words so we will see.
