Holly St. Ives is in a rut. Once a celebrated artist making waves in New York City, she finds herself uninspired and unmotivated. Her recent break-up is the last push she needs to spend Christmas alone in the small mountain cabin her father left her in his will—a family getaway she hasn’t visited in years.

After a near accident in Silverwood, she meets Nick, whom she learns is responsible for everything in the small town running like clockwork—including the upcoming Christmas festival and the town’s entry in the state-wide tree decorating contest. Holly doesn’t have time for Nick’s beguiling charm or mouth-watering holiday cupcakes, but after meeting his father, she discovers there’s more to the town’s obsession with the contest than meets the eye.

Touched by the prospect that the whole town is willing to pitch in for a good cause, Holly can feel her Christmas spirit making a comeback as Nick—and his team of Alaskan Malamutes—works his way into her heart to show her the meaning of Christmas again.

Before I begin my review I quickly want to thank Xpresso Book Tours for allowing me to be a part of this book blitz and for graciously providing a eGalley of the book so that I could read it for my review today.

I absolutely loved reading Christmas in Silverwood. It definitely was an uplifting and heartwarming festive read. As I started the book I had a hard time putting it down and pretty much read it in one sitting. Dorothy is a new to me author and I definitely need to check out more of her books if they are anything like this.

Have you ever read a book and could envision it like a movie? As I was reading I could picture this as a Hallmark movie. Silverwood sounds like the perfect Christmas town from the decorations to the festival to the mountains and to the people. It’s been a few days since reading the book and I can still picture this cute little town.

Our main character is Holly and she is headed to the family cabin in Silverwood. She left the hustle and bustle of New York City to not only escape the ex that keeps calling her and wanting to get back together but her failing art career as well. Holly was at the top of her game for years with her art but it’s gradually nonexistent now. Unsure what to do she decides to head to the cabin for a vacation to get away from it all.

The first person Holly meets is Nick and that is due to an almost collision she had with his dog, Cupid that ran out in front of her car on the way to the cabin. You definitely know that Nick will become the person of interest for Holly and you can’t help but root for this romance to happen. Right from the very moment, they meet for a second time you can see the sparks ignite. I loved Holly and Nick’s interactions together.

I love Holly as she is just that kind of character you want to be friends with. There was just something I found about her that was genuine. She realizes her mistakes and quickly wants to fix them especially when it comes to Lucy. She knows she was wrong in their friendship and wants to fix it.

I love Nick who appears to be a jack of all trades. There is nothing this guy can’t do from baking to helping out on the tree farm to volunteering in his community. He definitely is a hard worker and is always there for his community. I got the impression that Nick was a big softy, sexy, and very intriguing. Nick definitely piqued my interest and wanted to know more about him.

Will the magic of Silverwood convince Holly to stay or will she decide to move on after the holiday are over?

I highly recommend this if you’re looking for that holiday romance that has all those feels. I am even contemplating buying a finished copy of the book when it’s released.
