I was provided with a free week of Playster for the purpose of this review. Please note that all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank You Playster.

Playster is the world’s first all-inclusive online entertainment service that brings together books (ebooks and audio), games, movies and music all into one monthly subscription service. It’s just like netflix but a whole lot more.

When I was recently offered the chance to take a look at Playster (which was completely new to me) I quickly jumped on board because I thought that this would be a fantastic resource for a book lover like me.

Before I get into my thoughts lets first take about the subscription fee. When you join you automatically can try out a month free and if for some reason you don’t like it you can cancel within the thirty days but I know you will enjoy it and want to continue your subscription. It’s a recurring monthly fee. Here is the break down on the fees in both Canadian and American:

  • Books (ebooks & audio)  $8.95/month CAN [$9.95 US]
  • Games $4.50/month CAN [$4.95 US]
  • Movies $3.95/month CAN [$3.95 US]
  • Music $8.95/month CAN [$9.95 US]
  • Or you can just all the above for $22.50/month CAN [$24.95 US]

I can clearly see myself subscribing to the book package because I read a lot of books and their selection is amazing. If you are okay with not having the newest releases then this is perfect and I have noticed that sometimes when you’re trying to find the authors older books it can be difficult to find online so seeing that Playster has this covered I am thrilled. They have  authors such as Colleen Hooover, Jenny Colgan, Amy Plum, and so much more. They have all the genres covered so everyone will be happy.

I was really surprised at the selection of books that they had as this was the one feature I was really interested in. I wish I could have had more of a chance to check out the games. movies and music I can easily see that there is a huge selection to pick from. I can’t wait to check those out and I can easily see us getting that package for when we travel.

As a book lover I love books and I love reading. So when it comes to buying books it can get quite expensive and I have been trying to curb my spending even though its hard especially because I want to read the brand new releases. Although I have noticed since January that I am slowly going back to reading the older books and this is perfect for that reason. I could use the library but I suck at returning my books on time so this would pay for itself in my late fees. Plus there are books I want to read that I just don’t want to spend the money on considering after I read them I give them away so why not put that money into Playster?

Overall I have to say that I am really impressed with Playster and the selection they are carrying.  I will definitely have to get this.

Does this kind of service interest you?
