Children’s Book Week

This weeks theme is Children’s Book Week. I have gotten some children’s books recently that I didn’t get to review yet. My son, Michael came up with the idea so this week is Michael’s week. He will be reviewing a children’s book a day. Enjoy and I am sure he would love to hear all yoor comments. Remember he is only 5. LOL

Something new I plan on trying on my blog

After reading five books by the same author this weekend. I thought about doing a week theme every now and then. What do you guys think? Is this something you would like to see on my blog? Please leave me your feedback.

So the theme this week is 5 books by the same author in a series. So that means every day this week Monday to Friday there will be a review on each one of those 5 books.

Check back Monday to see what author and series the theme will be about.

One Year Ago Today

Today marks the One year anniversary to that tragic accident that happened right outside of Bathurst, NB. That took the lives of 7 bright young men and a high school teacher. I was a graduate from BHS.

As some of you may not know I grew up in Bathurst. It is a very small community and to see the whole community pull together to get through this was truly moving and I was so proud to say that I was from there. When I woke up that morning and heard the tragic news I was shocked and saddened. I personally didn’t know the families of the boys involved but I did know the teacher. Even though its one year later I am still saddened by the events.

This past summer I was able to make the trip back to Bathurst and to see the memorial outside the high school was very touching and moving. Even outside the city on the highway where the accident happened there is a memorial there with a basketball net.

Gone but not forgotten: Nathan Cleland, Justin Cormier, Daniel Hains, Javier Acevedo, Codey Branch, Nickolas Quinn and Nick Kelly. Teacher Beth Lord.
