(Meme) Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because they are particularly fond of lists at The Broke and the Bookish. They love sharing their lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Each week they post a new Top Ten subject. You can read their answers weekly. Everyone is welcome to join and all you have to do is link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND sign Mister Linky at the bottom to share with them and all those who are participating. If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Don’t worry if you can’t come up with ten every time…just post what you can!

Topic this week: Top Ten Bookish/Blogging Resolutions

As a book blogger you are always thinking of ways to improve your blog or things you want to do more of and change. I am no exception to the rule as I am always trying to improve on my blog and on my reading. With that being said here is my Top Ten Bookish/Blogging Resolutions:

  1. When I read it, I will review it. I always do good and then some how slip leaving me behind on writting reviews.
  2. Organize. This year I really need to get into the habit of documenting any books I request, books that come in (when they come in, from who etc) into some kind of form because some books don’t come with a press release.
  3. Accepting Requests. I really need to be more selective and not worry about hurting reps, authors etc feelings. There are too many books and just not enough time.
  4. Commenting. This too I have become a bad blogger on, I need to start commenting on peoples blogs.
  5. New Look. I am getting that itch and thinking about getting a new look. I love this but I want a change.
  6. Schedule. I have been thinking about this one for awhile now and I think I need to come up with some kind of schedule for the blog, such as IMM perhaps on a Sunday, reviews 3-4 times a week etc.
  7. Reading. I think I need to work in a little more reading time. Right now I tend to read about an hour before going to bed and usually don’t last very long. Perhaps devoting one day a week to reading in addition to the nightly reading.
  8. Stock piling reviews. I think any book that I read that isn’t books I accepted for review (ie books I buy or borrowed books) I will leave as drafts and save them for rainy days.
  9. Promoting my blog. I need to get out there more and advertise my blog using twitter and facebook more.
  10. Numbers. This year I am going to make it a point to understand my numbers more and find out what it means.

So this is my list, what does yours look like?

I found the blog and bloggers who started Top Ten Tuesday, and its The Broke and the Bookish blog. They have several bloggers who contribute to the blog. If you haven’t already discovered this blog then you should check them out.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten Favorite Book Quotes.

I have to admit that I don’t tend to keep track of my favorite quotes but after today’s meme I think I will start to keep track of them more.

I am not sure if I will be able to come up with ten but I am going to give it a try. Here is my Top Ten Favorite Book Quotes.

  1. “Metabolisms are evil, wicked, vile things.” — Johanna Edwards, The Next Big Thing. ( I remember when I read this I had to laugh and I agree.)
  2. “There was more scope for imagination,” Anne of Green Gables
  3. “Would you rather be if you had the choice- divinely beautiful or dazzlingly clever, or angelically good?” Anne of Green Gables. ( I always wanted to be divinely beautiful.)
  4. “We’ve all got meanness in us but we’ve all got goodness too and the only thing worth living for is the good and that is why we’ve got to make sure and pass it on.”
    (Where the heart is)
  5. “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Oh The Places You will go
  6. “Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try.”
  7. “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corncribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” (To Kill a Mockingbird)
  8. “But if you took every memory, every moment and stretched them out end to end, – they’d reach forever” (My Sister’s Keeper)
  9. “I think there’s just one kind of folks. Folks.” (To Kill a Mockingbird)
  10. “Yeah, man school just started, and already you’re reading way too many book,” (The Queen of Cool)

So these are some of my favorite quotes, what are yours?
