It’s Monday What are you reading? #24

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with blog to find out all the details on how to take part in this fun weekly meme. I should warn you though that this can add to an ever increasing TBR pile or wish list.

The wonderful host of this weekly meme is Shelia from Book Journey. You can check out her blog and see what other bloggers are reading this week and what they have read last week.

Wow I can’t believe I am sitting here writting up another It’s Monday, what are you reading? Post. Where did the week go?

It was another busy week here and not alot of reading got done. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to June 23rd when Michael will be done school so that I can get a little more reading done while I am at the pool for his swimming lessons.

Last week I did manage to read:

If you remember I got click from Tina at our last meet up and I couldn’t resist not reading it as it looked like a quick and fun read. The whole book is done in email format.

Right now I am currently reading:

After that I plan on reading:

What about you?

Wow I can’t believe I am sitting here writting up another It’s Monday, what are you reading? Post. Where did the week go?

I know it feels strange posting this on Sunday but tomorrow I have an author interview with Terry Spears scheduled and then Tuesday I have a review of her book. Be sure to come back and check those out.

I have to say not much reading got done this past week because it was such a busy week. Wednesday night I had to endure the craziness of registering for the summer reading program at our library. Then Thursday I had out of town family coming in so it was cleaning and visiting with them the rest of the week. Saturday was super busy because once a month Michael takes part in the Home Depot kids workshop and then he had two birthday parties to attend plus squeeze in some visiting with our out of town family. We are all tired today.

So last week I mentioned this book:

I actually read this and hopefully a review will be up soon for this.

I am thinking about picking up:

This has been sitting for a little while now.

Then I am thinking of these two books since they look like quick and easy reads.

So this is what I read and plan to read, what about you?

Wow, its that time again for me to post another It’s Monday, what are you reading? post. The past week just flew by. I was super busy with taking part in Armchair BEA and honestly missing being in NYC and BEA.

In the end I persevered and realized that if I want to go to NYC and BEA next year, I will have to make some changes (perhaps a book buying ban) and make some sacrifices so that I can attend next year. Thankfully I have Tina from Bookshipper who is going to be helping me out and we will be rooting each other one so that we can save up for it.

I have to admit I didn’t get alot of reading done last week because it seemed like I spent alot of time online either checking out/reading and commenting on other Armchair BEA attendees blogs or on twitter. I never really realized how much time twitter can suck out of your life.

I think last week my current read was:

I didn’t finish this one but I am about half way through it. So I will continue reading this one. I didn’t pick this up at all so where I was two weeks ago is where I am now.

This has been mentioned a few times in this post.

I actually started this one and so far so good. I am really enjoying this and looking forward to the other three books that will be coming out over the next three months.

If I finish up that one I plan on starting this one:

So this is what I read and plan to read, what about you?

I just realized that I didn’t do my It’s Monday, what are you reading post for the week yet. Usually I have these posts written on a Sunday and scheduled to post but for some reason that didn’t happen this week.

Actually I know why it didn’t happen I have been busy preparing post for Armchair BEA and missing NYC and BEA. I have to say that up until the weekend I was perfectly fine about not going but then talking on twitter to some bloggers I met last year made me a little sad that I wasn’t going to be there this year.

Thankfully this past weekend was a long weekend here in Canada, as it is Victoria Day.

Anyways I have to stop rambling. Sadly I have to say that not much reading got done this week due to the fact I had two sick people in the house. One started last Sunday and Michael started on Friday. Thankfully it was a ped day so no school was missed.

I think last week my current read was:

I didn’t finish this one but I am about half way through it. So I will continue reading this one.

The other book I was reading was:

I finished reading it and was pleasantly surprised. Review to come.

I managed to read this will the boys were napping:

A review to come very soon for this.

As for what I have planned to read this week. Hmm good question. I think I will plan to read:

So this is what I read and plan to read, what about you?

Wow its hard to believe its time for another It’s Monday, what are you reading? post. Where does the time go?

Its been a long weekend here with all the rain we have been getting and its looking like it will be like this until at least the middle of the week. On the upside the grass is looking really green and my lilac tree is budding. But really it can stop raining anytime now.

This past weekend I did a little reminiscing because it would have been this time last year I was actually getting ready to go to BEA. As you know BEA is happening next week and alot of bloggers I know are going. Have fun guys. I will miss you all.

Not wanting to feel left out of the whole BEA event I am going to be taking part in Armchair BEA for the first time. I remember in 2009 taking part in something similar and that was fun. Not sure what is planned but I do know that I will be interviewing another blogger and I will be interviewed as well. I am anxious to see what is planned and to discover a whole bunch of new bloggers.

Anyways its time to get into books. My current read last week was:

I actually read that and finished it. All I have to say is OMG it was so good. I honestly have to say that I didn’t think I was going to like it but wow was I wrong. Check back this week for my review and guest post.

After finishing The Undertakers, I went a whole other route and picked up:

I am roughly about 1/4 of the way through this and so far so good. I don’t read biographies so this is a first for me.

I also started to read:

This is actually my first Libba Bray book. I was thinking that this would get me in the mood for summer and take my mind off all this rain.

I was going to pick this up next but I ended up changing my mind. So this will hopefully be picked up next week.

I am still listening to:

I have to say this is going really good. I am almost finished it.

How was your reading week last week? Anything good planned for this week?

First off I would like to wish all the mothers again A Happy (belated) Mother’s Day wish. I put up a post yesterday wishing it to everyone but today I thought I would take a few minutes to share with you some Mother’s Day goodies I got.

One of my favorite things is when Michael comes home with stuff he has made in school. I absolutely love it and nothing makes be feel better then that because over the past few months Michael has been struggling with art at school because he thinks his stuff isn’t good and I keep reassuring him that it is but he thinks I say that because I am suppose to.

This is the outside of the card he made at school and the flower. I told him that I plan on making the flower into a magnet for the fridge. He thought I was going to use it as a bookmark but I told him that its too pretty to use and I want to show it off so the fridge is a good place for it.

This is the inside of the card that he wrote. If you don’t understand french it says
“Happy Mother’s Day Mom.
I love you mom.
I love it when you give me hugs and kisses.
Michael xoxo”

On Mother’s Day we took a walk into the village for lunch and to do some looking around. We went into a store and Michael spotted this and wanted to buy it for me. Its a bird napkin holder that was made in Mexico.

We took a drive and ended up in Laval (this is about 15 minutes from my house) where we popped into (new to me)Indigo. I was pretty impressed with the layout of the store but I have to admit that I had no idea where anything was so it was nice to look around.

We grabbed some Frappuccino’s at Starbucks and we walked around. Of course I have to admit a few more books came home with us.

Thankfully I had another one of those 25% of coupons that I used for my book.

The one with Tangled on it came from Michael on Mother’s Day (I just love what it says on it) and I didn’t mention it but I also got the other too on the Indigo trip. Michael pointed out the middle one to me and said he wanted to get that for me because I do love the smell of fresh mown grass, coffee and new books. Of course the last one is self explanatory.

These were taken inside of Indigo and I love the one of Michael alone reading.

So enough chit chatting and lets get to what I read and plan to read this week. From last week I mentioned:

I didn’t get to pick this up last week but this is my current read. I picked it up last night to start reading. This is my middle grade feature book this month.

Check back for my review of this hopefully early next week along with a guest post from Ty. Also if you happen to take part in my Middle Grade Book Challenge this month, I will be giving a copy of this book away. (Sorry this contest is only for those that take part for the month of May.)

If I get The Undertakers finished this week I plan on picking up:

I am still listening to:

Last week I did finish reading:

Plus I read:

I am looking at the day and I have to admit I am amazed at how fast the time is flying by. We are already May and in a mere (roughly) three weeks bloggers (not me) will be descending upon New York City for BEA (book Expo America).

Sadly I won’t be able to attend this year and I have to say its a little heart breaking especially if you have been the year before like I was able to attend and I can honestly say it was an absolute blast. If any of my readers are going for the first time let me know.

I have to admit not alot of reading got done last week because I was making the final preparations for a kids party for Michael’s birthday. He had a blast mini golfing with his classmates.

Since I didn’t get alot of reading done I did get to the library the week before and grabbed some audio books. I started listening to:

I haven’t read this series yet (yea I know, where have I been and why haven’t I read it before now?) but I am determined to read it/listen to it this year preferably before the summer hits.

Not sure how the week will go this week with reading because I might have Michael home some of the week but today is Election day in Canada and we use the schools as polliing stations so that means all the kids have a ped day today.

Over the weekend Michael developed a skin infection called Fifth’s disease. Which just happened on Saturday (the day of the kid party)but it was late in the afternoon we discovered it and he didn’t show any signs of it. So Sunday I quickly called all the parents of the kids who attended the party and thankfully everyone was okay with it because I have to say I felt really bad.

Anyways on my reading pile for this week is:

I actually started this one and so far so good. I have to get this one done before the weekend because I will be meeting up with Tina and she wanted to read this.

I am hoping to get this one started this week as well and I am pretty sure I will get into this one this week.

This is what I have planned for the week, what about you?
