If We Were Having Tea….. #11

If we were having tea… I would tell you that is been a good week even though it was a cold week.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that its going to be a busy hockey weekend because we are in a tournament. Sadly we lost our game yesterday 2-3 (but we could have won it) and since we lost it we play today and fingers crossed.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that last week Michael got his first penality of the season. It was nothing major.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that Michael has a short school week this week as he goes to school Monday and Wednesday for exams and then he is off the rest of the week. He is happy to have a break.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I made it a point  that I was going to ease up on my book buying for 2016 and decided that when I go to Chapters I need to budget myself. This past week I failed a bit but I know I will do better.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that it was a early morning because I had to get Michael to the arena to get his hockey pictures done.

If we were having tea… I would tell you so far I am doing good with daily blogging and reading. I am making it a point to blog daily and to read at least one book a week and sometimes I have to pick up another one because one book isn’t enough for the week. I am doing really good as I have already read 4 books so far this month.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week. I hope you have a good week.

DIY/ Happiness Jar

IMG_0001

Towards the end of last year I decided that for 2016 I was going to keep track of all the good things that happened during the year instead of focusing on all the negative or bad things that happened. As you know 2015 was a rough year with my father in law passing (towards the end of 2014) and then my mom passing in August and dealing with both estates etc so 2016 has got to be my year.

What is a Happiness Jar?

So with that thought came this Happiness Jar. The purpose of the Happiness Jar is that you are suppose to write down good things that happen to you daily on pieces of paper and put them in a jar, container etc. You can even mention a surprise gift you got, accompolishing a goal or goals, seeing something in nature that takes your breath away, a funny moment in your day, a memory that you want to remember, and the list goes on and on but you get the point right?

Supplies you will need to make your own:

  • a jar or something to put your little notes in (you can buy on jar or use what you have)
  • paper (you can use colored paper, plain paper, post it notes, etc)
  • a pen, pencil, crayon, maker (anything to write with)
  • a label for your jar, stickers etc

I ended up purchasing my items at Dollarama. This was under $5 to do as I purchased the jar, the memo cube colored notes *because they are the perfect size) and a new pen as well as some stickers and a label. I haven’t added those on yet but plan to very soon.

To Begin:

I started doing this on January 1, 2016 and at the end of the each day before bed I sat and wrote one good thing that happened that day and I put that date on the paper. Then you fold it up and place it in your jar. Don’t read the jar until December 31st, 2016.

I decided when I started this that I would alternate the colors just to make the jar a little more colorful although I am thinking I might have to upgrade my jar as I don’t think this will be big enough to hold the entire year without it looking squashed.

Have you ever thought of doing a happiness jar?

If we were having tea… I would tell you its so good to see you again as its been a rough week with getting back into the normal routine again.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that its going to be a busy hockey weekend as we had a game yesterday and one today.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that yesterday we started the 2016 hockey season with a huge bang. We won our game 5-1 and Michael got two goals. He got the first goal of the game and the last one. I have to say the last one was the best one.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that there are some kids who can keep the game classy and some make it a point to ruin the game. Michael was telling me that at one point he was fighting for the puck and the kid from the other team told him to F&^* Off. I think this is very inappropriate and uncalled for.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I made it a point  that I was easing up on my book buying for 2016 and I failed. I ordered Off The Bookshelf Coloring Book: 45+ Weirdly Wonderful Designs To Color For Fun & Relaxation.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that this week is going to be super busy with hockey (games and a tournament) and a faith first meeting.

If we were having tea… I would tell you so far I am doing good with daily blogging and reading. I am making it a point to blog daily and to read at least one book a week.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week. I hope you have a good week.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I decided to take a blogging break during Christmas to spend it with the family and the few post that went up were all scheduled posts.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that 2016 is here and that I wish you a very Happy and Joyous New Year and all the best for the year.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I am excited for Monday to come so that we can get back into the regular routine of things again. I love the break but its time.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that Tina from BookShipper and myself have begin the new year with doing an Affirmation Jar so that we can keep track of all the good things that happen to us in 2016. I will probably do a little post on that this upcoming week.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that since my last If We Were Having Tea post that I went to the movies to see Joy and the boys went to see Star Wars. I really enjoyed Joy. Have you seen it yet?

If we were having tea... I would tell you that I am working on colouring every day and I managed to complete two already. I am starting small and then gradually working up to the bigger images.

If we were having tea… I would tell you 2016 is going to be the year that I try to eat healthier and get into shape. I am not going to stress about dieting but make the effort to eat more healthier.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week. I hope you have a good week.

If We Were Having Tea…. #7

If we were having tea… I would tell you that we are in our last hockey game for 2015. That game is happening this afternoon. We tied our game yesterday. We are half way through our regular season.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that last weekend we were in Hawkesbury for a tournament and the kids on the team won their first game 2-1 and we lost our 2nd game 3-0. So that was it for the tournament. A few of us went out for lunch before heading back to Montreal.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I am officially done with my Christmas shopping, I managed to finish it all this past week with the exception of having to pick up a book Michael asked for yesterday but that is just a quick running in and out. Then the wrapping begins.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I am going to start my Christmas baking. I feel as though I am behind and don’t think I will get to make all that I want to.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that in last weekends tournament Michael got hustler of the game. He was so happy with this and he skated his butt off for this.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that I am excited for winter break as is Michael. He has been swamped with projects for school and I just found out that he has a Faith First project that is due in January. He will be doing his confirmation in May.

If we were having tea… I would tell you a funny story that happened last weekend. I was strolling through my facebook when we got back last Sunday and saw that a friend I went to elementary, junior high and high school with had posted a photo of her son getting the same hustler of the game like Michael did. They were at the same tournament as us and I didn’t get to see her.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week. I wish you a very Merry Christmas.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this we are having a busy hockey weekend. We are currently playing in a hockey tournament in Eastern Ontario.

If we were having tea… I would tell you the kids on the team won their first game 2-1 and that was a boost to their morals. We play again this morning (by the time you read this we are there getting ready to play)

If we were having tea… I would tell you that I have not done any Christmas shopping yet. Well technically I guess that isn’t true since I did purchase Tina’s gift (and gave it to her last week) and another friends gift as well since I saw her last week. I do have another present to give a friend hopefully this week and I can’t forget the two secret Santa’s that I took part in either so that is so shopping done.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that this is going to be the last week of school for Michael and then he is off until the beginning of January and he is excited for the break. He is tired and this academic plus program that he is in is tough. There is a lot of homework to do nightly.

If we were having tea… I would tell you we did bring our tree in from outside and it is currently sitting and will be decorated this week.

If we were having tea... I would tell you that we discovered that we have a little bunny taking shelter in our yard. He is so cute and very timid but it reminds me of when I was a kid in New Brunswick and we had a bunny.

If we were having tea… I would tell you I am exhausted. I started the week with a sinus thing and a headache that just won’t go away. A friend recommend seeing someone about it and I plan on calling to see if they can help.

If we were having tea… I would tell you that it was great seeing you again this week and that I can’t wait until next week.
