As a booklover I love going to booksales especially ones that are Friends of the Library. With the Friends of the Library 100% of the sales from the donated or old library books that are sold goes back into the library. Funds raised at this year’s event will go towards developing a new Discovery Centre for young people at the Library.
Recently Linda from Better With Books brought this booksale to our attention. The library is the Dorval Library. Which is roughly a 10 minute car ride from my house.
This is the first time I have attended this booksale but it won’t be my last. I was really impressed with the selection of books and honestly going the first day with the first few hours was well worth it. The selection was great. It was nice to see that so many books were donated.
I met up with Tina Bookshipper and Linda Better With Books on Thursday, day one of the booksale. Both Tina and Linda were there before me and when I met up with them they both had a good amount of books. Off I went to look.
I got:
-two videos:
Free Willy 1-2-3 and Muppets Take
Manhatten.(I couldn’t pass up on this one)
-11 Mangas:
Hack-The legend of Twilight vol 1-2/Planet Ladder vol 1-2-3/ Culdcept vol 1-2-3-4/Faeries Landing vol 1/fushigi yugi: the mysterious play vol 1
-9 books:
-All American Girl by Meg Cabot
-Hex marks the spot & no rest for the wiccan by
Madelyn Alt
-Shakespeare’s Counselor & Dead over heels by Charlaine Harris
-Sex in the City & 4 Blondes by Candace bushnell
-Summer Boys by Hailey
Abbott
-Heartbreak and Triumph by Shawn MichaelsAll that for $13 CAN
Okay I have to admit that I went back again today to see if there was anything good. This is what I saw when I pulled into the parking lot. I guess the ducks wanted to see what was there too.
I managed to find;
– 3 cds: Savage Garden’s Affirmation, Five For
Fighting’s The Battle of Everything and Backstreet Boys’s Backstreet’s
Back.
-3 softcovers: The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, Impulse by
Ellen Hopkins and Little White Lies by Gemma Townley
-6 kids books for
Michael and its Captain Underpants 1-5. (I have been eyeing these in the stores
for awhile and was thinking of getting them for him) and The adventures of super
diaper baby. (its a graphic novel) All that came up to $9 CAN.
It wasn’t raining when I came out so I decided to walk around and snap some pictures.
They were taken on the ground of the library.

Wow, the grounds of the library are just beautiful. What a nice place to read. You sure did get a good load of books for an awesome price. Enjoy!
Wow, you did super well, Cindy! I’m still sad I couldn’t make it too. Ah well, next time. Poor duck, I hope he found his way back to a more hospitable place than the parking lot! I love your pics of the library grounds.
great finds. Don’t you just love book sales such as that.
Cindy, looks like you got loads of great finds for very little $$; enjoy
I like volunteering at the library sales because it of course is helpful to the cause, but also because you get to set aside all those great titles for yourself to buy while straightening and filling the tables for everyone else ;0)
Is it wrong of me to like the picture with the duck the most? lol. Great book finds! I have yet to read my copy of the Historian, but I heard it’s mighty good. =)
I love library sales! Looks like you found some great deals.

That is a beautiful library! You did good at the book sale! Aren’t they fun?
Okay, so that’s where all the goods books went! I went Friday afternoon and got a few good ones, but it was not the same stash I ended up with last year.
