It’s Monday What are you reading? # 7

It’s Monday, What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila who blogs at Book Journey.

(Edit) For some reason I had this post scheduled to post on Monday and it never appeared and continued to sit there. Not sure why that happened but when I went back to look at my last weeks post I noticed a few others that didn’t appear so please forgive me if your feed readers are loaded down with my posts.

I really can’t believe how fast February is flying by and honestly I am happy that its going by like the wind because I am offically through with winter. The weather here is crazy one day its almost 0 and then the next its like -20. I am longing for the warmer weather and being able to sit in the sun.

So last week my current read was:

I finished that within a day or two of starting it. This was for an ARC Tour. Hopefully my review for this will get up this week.

I mentioned last week that I was hoping to get to Weird Sisters and Across the Universe but I didn’t. I ended up reading the following:

These are graphic novels called Night School Vol 1 & 2.

I had started to read Weird Sisters but I could tell I wasn’t into reading so I figured I would pick up some light things to read and these were borrowed from my library and were due book this week.

I noticed reading wise I felt like I was going into a slump and not sure why. Perhaps I have been pushing myself with reading and reading too much. So I decided that I was going to take a break and I didn’t do much reading. With not doing alot of reading I turned to the tv and I think I have watched more tv in the last week or so then I have in awhile.

Is anyone watching Survivor? Its been a long time since I watched it and I think I might be hooked with this one with the redemption island twist.

Okay back to what I read. Last week I also read:

These are graphic novels.

I am not quite sure where I heard about these books but since Michael has been enjoying the Geronimo Stilton graphic novels I thought he might enjoy these. So I wanted to read them before he did so I would know if they are age appropriate. Thankfully our library ordered them for us and we were able to get #1-3-4 to read. Michael will probably read these during spring break next week. Still waiting for #2
to come in.

That is what I read last week. Now for this week I will probably read

and perhaps I will get to

Have you read any of these books? If so please let me know.

I really can’t believe that we are actually going into the third week of February. Where is the time going? I can honestly say that right now I am craving spring so the time can fly by if it will mean the cold and snow will go away.

I grew up on the East Coast and in all honesty I really should be use to this cold weather but I am not. If you are an east coaster you know of the winters I am talking about.

Hey, Happy Valentine’s Day.

Okay now to the books I read last week.

Last week my current read was:

I did finish this book and enjoyed it. My review is coming up this month so check back for that one.

I also got to read:

These both are book two in the series. I read the first Bran Hambric book last year and loved it. I have my review for this coming up very soon. The same goes for the Beautiful Dead series. Another one I really enjoyed.

Right now I am reading:

Hoping to get this done by the middle of the week because its a book I have to send out for an ARC Tour.

When I finish this I plan on reading:

So this is what I read and what I plan to read this week. What about you?

It’s Monday What are you reading? # 5

Its hard to believe that we are already into the month of February. I can honestly say that I am practically counting the days down until its spring. Saturday night we got hit with another storm and got another dumping of the white fluffy stuff. Then once again Sunday was warm and very mild out. I heard we are suppose to get some more snow AGH!!

If that wasn’t bad enough its a possibility that Canada Post might be going on strike in the spring. I have my fingers crossed that that doesn’t happen as that would affect us greatly.

Sheila from One Person’s Journey Through Books and Coffee is the host of Its Monday, What are you reading? If you are new to my blog and are wondering what its all about, well It’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week. It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs, and put new titles on your reading list. (just a FYI this can add to an ever increasing wishlist)

When I sat down to write up this post I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at what I actually accomplished.

My current read last week was:

I did finish it up and absolutely loved it. I have my review scheduled for next week. Looking forward to reading her other books very soon as I have Beastly and A Kiss In Time sitting in my TBR pile.

I also read:

I enjoyed both books alot as you can see since I managed to read both of them this week. I have both reviews scheduled for next week as well.

I am currently reading this:

After this I am hoping to get to these:

I think I had a pretty good reading week last week. I tried to balance it with some very light and quick reads. Here is what I read:

These were pretty fast reads and I wanted something light to read. Reviews are saved for a rainy day as these are library books.

My current read from last week was this book and I did finish it up. Look for a review of this book next week. I might also have an author interview. Working out the details as we speak.

This week I am currently reading and really enjoying:

I am hoping that I can get to:

I am trying to read my most recent aquired books first (from Dec & January). I love the concept for this meme as it will make me accoutable and on track. This is what I have read and will be reading, what about you?

As I am rewritting this post on this very cold (-27) Monday morning, I am so happy I get to stay indoors, well at least until 2.30pm when I have to walk to the bus stop to get Michael. If its cold where you are I hope you are staying warm. Its a good day to curl up on the couch and read.

So I have to say this past week I really didn’t read alot because I as preparing myself for bloggiesta. I wanted to get alot done this weekend so I have to say that my reading suffered the consequences.

With that being said this is what I did get to read this past week:
Dead Frog On The Porch
Dead Bird Through The Cat Door
This will be reviewed later this week with an author interview following. They are great middle grade books by a fantastic Canadian author.
Currently reading:
The book is called Love, Love, Love by Deborah Reber and Caroline Goode. Its two books in one. The one I am reading now is called Language of Love by Deborah Reber. Deborah contacted me in early December asking if I would be interested in reviewing her book and it sounded really good so I said yes. My review of that should be up next week.
Also hoping to get to read this:
Cloaked

I have been saying for a little while now that I really need to take part in this and for some reason I never do but I resolved that this would be the year that I would take part. I was going to start last week but I figured I would wait until today when I could actually share the books I have read in the new year and its a full week into 2011.

So last week here is what I read:
Real Mermaids Don’t Wear Toe Rings
Arranged
The Butt Book
The Samantha Granger Experiment:Fused

I also posted an interview with Catherine MacKenzie and a guest post by Artie Bennett.

This week I really need to read:
-Dead Frog on the Porch by Jan Markley
-Dead Bird Through the Cat Door by Jan Markley
-Frost Bites by Kerry Sparks
-Jen and the Frosted Friends by Kerry Sparks

This is what I have read last week and what I have planned for this week. I am only focusing on those books because both authors sent them to me for review.
