Hello every body. I hope you all had a great week. Its been an okay week here. My son is back in school ( 11 days) and he is adjusting to life in high school and we are almost back into hockey once again. We are just wrapping up a pre-camp and then its onto evaluations to determine what level of PeeWee he will be playing. It will either be level A or B and I think depending on how he plays he could be in the A level.

This week it was a little crazy in books and I know I went over board but I am thinking that my chapters shopping will be limited very soon to how often I  will be going. So I picked up:

I am really enjoying Ask The Passengers by A.S. King so I went ahead and picked the other books that were out.

I also grabbed Marie Lu’s The Young Elites because it was out in paperback and I really enjoyed the Legend series. So I am excited to see what this new series will be like.

Have you read any of these books?

Hello everyone.

I seriously wasn’t going to buy anything this week but I had to get out and my comfort place is Chapters as you all know to unwind and relax. I grabbed a drink from Starbucks and walked around. I was good and I only picked up one book.

I heard alot about this book recently (ie the past two weeks) so I had to pick

Have you read this? Have you heard about this? I really like the cover and the story line sounds really good. I am a little surprised at how excited I am to read this because I normally don’t read anything historical fiction wise.

Good Morning everyone.

Its been a very busy week here. Michael started grade 7 this week and its a new journey for him because he has started high school. So its been fun trying to get back into a routine for early mornings and packing lunches. Thankfully he has a late start so that helps a bit.

Also this morning we are doing the funeral service for my mom so its going to be a long and stressful day. Thanks to everyone who left comments and sent me messages. They were all greatly appreciated.

Today I only have two books to share with you and its something I bought when I was shopping at Walmart to pick up the last of the school supplies and its this one:

I have been hearing alot of good things about the book and I decided to pick it up. I will be reading this sometime in Sept/Oct for an online book club, TBR Book Club, that is hosted by Andrea from The Overstuffed Bookcase and Jessie from Jessie Marie Reads

I was at Costco picking up things for the reception for my mom’s funeral and spotted this:

The regular price in a book store is almost $20.00 and I got it for $11.50 how could I pass that up? So I had to pick it. I am excited to dig into this new series as I am a fan of James Patterson’s books.

What did you get this week? Have you read any of these books?

Review/ Stay

Review/ StayStay! a Top Dog Story by Alex Latimer
Published by Peachtree Pub Limited on September 1st 2015
Pages: 32
Goodreads
Genres: Animals, Boys & Men, Dogs, Pets, Young Adult

Looking after Ben's dog, Buster, is no walk in the park. Buster is messy, he is naughty, he is EXHAUSTING! But Ben loves him more than anything. When Ben goes away, he tells Grampa exactly how to look after Buster. But has Ben remembered the most IMPORTANT thing?

I received this book for free from publisher/pr firm in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Its been a little while since I have reviewed a picture book and I have to admit that I miss doing them.

Stay by Alex Latimer is such a cute little book that I am sure all the kids will love to read. I know I enjoyed it.

The illustrations are really nice and colorful so when you are reading the book you can’t help but look around at everything on the page.

Ben has a dog named Buster and lets just say that Buster can be a handful all the time and loves to get into trouble. When Ben’s parents announce they are going on vacation but Buster will not because of his actions. Buster will be going to stay at Ben’s grand dads house.

Ben takes to writing notes for his grand dad and they include what Buster likes and doesn’t like, favorite scratching spots, and so much more and these notes continue to arrive even while Ben is on vacation because he loves Buster so much.

While Buster is with grand dad, grand dad takes it upon himself to start trying Buster into a better dog and when Ben comes home he loves the changes in Buster and he loves that grand dad even wrote Ben notes on how to keep things up.

Has Buster changed for the good? Or is there still a little of the old Buster inside?

If your looking for a fun picture book then I highly recommend this.

Hello everyone. Its that time once again where I share with you the contents of my mailbox or otherwise known what I purchased this week.

Oh my what a week it has been so I have been fairly busy with preparing for a funeral (which is next weekend) and cleaning up just in case family wants to come back to the house for awhile after that.

A unexpected surprise was calling my friend to see if her and her kids wanted to meet Michael and I at chapters/Starbucks yesterday. I needed to get out and unwind and what better place then chapters right?

I was fairly good with my book buying this time around and I only got these two.

Its book 1 and 2 in the Welcome to Cainsville series. Its been awhile since I read anything by Kelley and this was a series I don’t have so why not.

What books did you get this week? Have you read this series? Do you like Kelley Armstrong’s books? If so what?

Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a good day. As promised I thought I would share with you the books that I bought while I was on vacation recently. I know this is long over due and it should have gone up sooner..

The first book purchase I made was at one of the lovely independent bookstores in Naperville, Il and its Anderson’s. I love that little bookstore so much and I wish I could have looked around more but I was in a rush.

I was surpise excited to see this on the shelf and its autographed too Then the next place we hit up while on vacation was Barnes & Noble. Another bookstore that I wish we could have walked around more of.

I only managed to grab some magazines and this was for the ride home.

I spotted this at Walmart in the USA and picked it up because even with the exchange rate it was much cheaper to buy there:

I can’t remember where I picked these up but I also got:

So that is all I got in my vacation mailbox/ vacation haul. Hope you enjoy and please let me know if you read any of these books.

Good Morning everyone. This is a pre-scheduled post that I am currently writing before I leave on vacation. So I hope everyone had a good week.

I have no idea if I got anything for review this week as I am away so I will show you a bunch of books I got just before leaving. I had a coffee date with my friend about a week ago (as I am writing this) and I picked up the following books:

talknerdytometote

I received this tote for $5 because I spent over $30. The tote is originally $16.00.  I really like it.

This is book 13 in the series. I thought I had this book but I can’t find it with the series I have.
This is book 16 in the series.
Chapters had Go Set A Watchman on sale for $25.00 (regular priced $34.99) so I grabbed it because I am sure I will love it.

The following were anniversary gifts because I love anything Mary Poppins. I think these are the first four books. I really like the covers for the books.

So that is all I got, I hope you got a few great books this week.

Next week I will be posting the books I picked up on vacation. Not quite sure what I will have but I am sure a few since I will be hitting Anderson’s in Naperville IL. I love that little indie bookstore.
