Its been awhile since I have done an On My Wishlist post, I think its been since 2011. If you are new to my blog I should let you know that On My Wishlist was hosted by Book Chick City. I didn’t realize they had stopped this meme until I went looking for it so that tells you how long its been since I did this. There is a new host for On My Wishlist and its now being hosted by Cosy Books and I’m not sure if its still being hosted by Cosy Books because the blog hasn’t been updated in about a month but I will link to them until I can find another meme like this. If you happen to know one please let me know and I will go and check it out.

This wishlist post will be a little different because as you know BEA (Book Expo America) was earlier this month in  NYC and I had initially had this post scheduled to post while I was away and for some reason it never posted so I figured I would show you the books that I was hoping to get while I was there.

I have edited and removed the books I did get.

What books were you hoping to get at BEA and didn’t?

(Meme) On My Wishlist

If you are new to my blog I should let you know that On My Wishlist that is hosted by Book Chick City. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet then you really should.

Its been a few weeks since I have done this but after hearing so much about this book I knew I had to put it on my wishlist to get when it comes out in May 2012. Thanks to Lucy from Moonlight Gleams for bringing it to my attention.

A moving debut novel about a foster child learning to open her heart to a family’s love

Carley uses humor and street smarts to keep her emotional walls high and thick. But the day she becomes a foster child, and moves in with the Murphys, she’s blindsided. This loving, bustling family shows Carley the stable family life she never thought existed, and she feels like an alien in their cookie-cutter-perfect household. Despite her resistance, the Murphys eventually show her what it feels like to belong–until her mother wants her back and Carley has to decide where and how to live. She’s not really a Murphy, but the gifts they’ve given her have opened up a new future.

Doesn’t that sound really good? Well this is what I have on my wishlist this week, what about you?

It’s been awhile since I have done an On My Wishlist post. If you are new to my blog I should let you know that On My Wishlist that is hosted by Book Chick City. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet then you really should.

I am trying to think when the last time I did an On My Wishlist post and realized that its been awhile.  I always love reading other bloggers post about wishlist books. What a great way to find out about books you might normal not hear about.

The only thing with On My Wishlist is that it can lead to more books to add to that wishlist.

This week I have:

A detective with a secret…
When homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis sees a photo of Seth Benjamin on a police bulletin, she knows that Heaven’s plan to halt Armageddon has gone terribly wrong. As the only mortal aware of Seth’s true nature, only she can save him.

An exiled angel turned assassin…

Aramael was a hunter of Fallen Angels until a traitor forced him into earthly exile. Now, with no powers and only a faint memory of Alex, his mortal soulmate, he will stop at nothing to redeem himself—even if it means destroying Seth in the name of the Creator.

A world with little chance of redemption…

As Alex’s need to protect Seth sets her on a fiery course with the determined Aramael, the coming conflict between them may push the world over the edge—and into the very chaos they’re trying to prevent.

This is coming out March 27, 2012 and its the second book in the series and I am dying to read this because I loved Sins of the Angels.

(Meme) On My Wishlist

Its been awhile since I have done a On My Wishlist post and I thought today would be a good day to showcase a book that I have been drooling over for a little while now.

I absolutely love the cover of the book. Its very simple but mysterious. I really want to read this book and can’t wait for it come out. Sadly the release date is only February 2012 so its going to feel like forever before the book is released.

About the Book:
Girl, Interrupted meets Beautiful Creatures in this fast-paced thriller

When sixteen-year-old Faye arrives at Holbrook Academy, she doesn’t expect to find herself exactly where she needs to be. After years of strange waking visions and nightmares, her only comfort the bones of dead animals, Faye is afraid she’s going crazy. Fast.

But her first night at Holbrook, she feels strangely connected to the school and the island it sits on, like she’s come home. She’s even made her first real friends, but odd things keep happening to them. Every morning they wake on the floors of their dorm rooms with their hands stained red.

Faye knows she’s the reason, but what does it all mean? The handsome Kel tries to help her unravel the mystery, but Faye is certain she can’t trust him; in fact, he may be trying to kill her – and the rest of the world too.

Rich, compelling writing will keep the pages turning in this riveting and tautly told psychological thriller.

Doesn’t that sound so amazing?

Sins of The Angels is her debut book and its the first in the  The Grigori Legacy. Its set to release September 27/11.

About the book:
When homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis is assigned a new partner in Aramael, a Guardian Angel who doubles as a hit man, they have only one thing in common: a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse. Now they have no choice but to work together-relentlessly, fearlessly, intimately. Because only they can stop the rogue angel from ushering in the end of days.

About the author:

Linda Poitevin is the author of a new urban fantasy series, The Grigori Legacy, from Ace Books. Book one, SINS OF THE ANGELS, will be out September 27/11. Book two, SINS OF THE SON, follows in May 2012. In her other life, Linda is wife, mother, friend, gardener, coffee snob, freelance writer, and zookeeper of too many pets.

Linda currently lives near Ottawa with her husband, three daughters, one very large husky/shepherd/Great Dane-cross dog, two cats, three rabbits, and a bearded dragon lizard. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found in her garden or walking her dog along the river or through the woods.

On My Wishlist

Its been awhile since I have done an On My Wishlist post. If you are new to my blog I should let you know that On My Wishlist that is hosted by Book Chick City. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet then you really should.

I am trying to think when the last time I did an On My Wishlist post and realized that its been awhile. I think it was late 2010. I always love reading other bloggers post about wishlist books. What a great way to find out about books you might normal hear about.

This wishlist post will be a little different because as you know BEA (Book Expo America) is happening next week in NYC so all these are books are going to be at BEA this year.

I know last year before I was leaving to go to BEA I was able to get a list of Galley books that will be given out at BEA and I was able to get a few off that list. So I figured I would share with you the books that are coming out that I am anxious to read this year.

This is the second book in the series by Ally Condie. Last year I was lucky enough to get Matched at BEA.

This is James final book in the Maze Runners series.
This is Lauren’s third book in the Fallen series.
This is also the third and final book in the steampunk series.

No covers for these yet:
Liesl and Po by Lauren Oliver
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler
Modelland by Tyra Banks

These are ones I can’t find anything one:
~All These Things I’ve Done by Gabrielle Zevin
~Ten Rules for Living with my sister by Ann M. Martin
~The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater (Scholastic)
~Magic Most foul by Leanna ReneeHieber (Sourcebooks)

So if I was going to BEA this year, these would be the books I would be looking for. What are you most anticipated reads for 2011?

(Meme) On My Wishlist

I thought today would be a perfect day to share what books I have On My Wishlist that is hosted by Book Chick City.

I was supposed to have a scheduled interview today but it didn’t happen so instead of a review I thought I would share some of my wishlist books with you.

Feb 2011

That’s what her classmates call seventeen-year-old Donna Underwood. When she was seven, a horrific fey attack killed her father and drove her mother mad. Donna’s own nearly fatal injuries from the assault were fixed by magic–the iron tattoos branding her hands and arms. The child of alchemists, Donna feels cursed by the magical heritage that destroyed her parents and any chance she had for a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane and grounded is her relationship with her best friend, Navin Sharma.

When the darkest outcasts of Faerie–the vicious wood elves–abduct Navin, Donna finally has to accept her role in the centuries old war between the humans and the fey. Assisted by Xan, a gorgeous half-fey dropout with secrets of his own, Donna races to save her friend–even if it means betraying everything her parents and the alchemist community fought to the death to protect.

When you can see things others can’t, where do you look for the truth?
This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats.

Clarity Clare Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It’s a gift.

And a curse.

When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare’s ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case–but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare’s brother–who has supernatural gifts of his own–becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

March 2011

Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie”s a demon, one of only two in the world'”the other being her father. What”s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They”re demons too. Meaning someoneis raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they”re using Acher to do it. But it”s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

This is what has been recently added to my wishlist. Have you read any of these? Any interest in reading any of these?
