It's Monday! What Are You Reading

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog   and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit – join them!

Last week I managed to finish reading The Readers of Broken Wheel recommend and my review will be posted tomorrow so be sure to check out that.

Of course I finished that mid week because it got to the point that it got good and I had to read it practically in one sitting. Don’t you love books like that?

For my next book I decided to go with something that I recently bought and was sitting on my shelf and its:

I ended up zipping through this book over the weekend because I got to that point in the book that I just had to read it. My review will be posted this week.

So this week I plan on digging into:

Last week I managed to finish And Again by Jessica Chiarella and my review will be posted tomorrow since the book is released tomorrow.

I wasn’t sure if it was going to take me all week to read it so I didn’t have anything planned so I had to pick a new book. So I decided to dip into my BEA15 stash and I discovered that The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald is a January 19, 2016 release. Perfect. I am about half way done and will probably need to find a new book before the week is done.

I think I will leave this as is just in case so I am not pressuring myself to read to much at once and I think this is what happened the last time I did this meme. I will focus on one book and if needed I will pick another one and add it next week.

What are you reading this week?

Good Morning everyone. I have decided that I am going to get back into doing It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? posts again. I use to do them and then just stopped. I think this will be a great way to keep myself organized when it comes to what books I have read in the previous week and what I am going to read.

Since this is 2016 I am going to share with you my first book of 2016 that I am currently reading:

I am about 100 pages into the book and its been a bit of a slow start and I am hoping it will pick up very soon.

What are you reading this week?

(Meme) It’s Monday! What are you reading? #12

One of my favorite bloggers Sheila from Book Journey is the host of this weekly meme. If you haven’t checked out Sheila’s blog yet then what are you waiting for. I love reading Sheila’s blog because she covers it all and I always end up walking away like I get to know Sheila a little more from her post.

I also just discovered recently that Sheila has partnered with Jen from Teach Mentor Texts and they come up with  a fun meme with a kidlit focus – anyone reading and reviewing books in children’s literature – it can be picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, you name it in the world of kidlit and it’s in!

So in case you are wondering what It’s Monday! What are you reading? is about well its a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Is it really that time of the week again for another It’s Monday! What are you reading? post? I feel as though I just wrote one. Wow the week is going by really fast although I have to say that we did have some what of a busy week. It was back to the normal routine last week coming off of spring break. I did my volunteer work in the school library on Monday, Tuesday Michael was back to his Italian class after school and then Friday was just  crazy. I was alone in the library (the librarian was called away on a family emergency) Thankfully it was only three classes but still it was crazy and hope that doesn’t happen too often.

Then we geared up for a weekend of hockey. Michael’s hockey team qualified for both regional games (since they are the number one novice C team for our city) and then regular playoffs. Friday night was a playoff game and we won 5-0, Saturday was regionals and we won 3-1 so that meant we had to play Sunday and of course we won 6-1. Now we go into a game Tuesday night and next weekend. I am super proud of Michael as he got a couple of assists this weekend. We have a fantastic team and we are so proud of the kids.

I think Spring has finally come (a few days early but its okay) to our area because the last few days have been very nice and there is no snow in my front yard. Sunday was exceptionally warm and it felt almost summer like. I am hoping that this is a positive thing because honestly I am finished with winter and the cold weather.

Anyways enough ramblings.

This past week I read two books:

I posted my review for this yesterday.

My review for this will be posted later this morning. Isn’t the cover fantastic?

What I am planning on reading this week:

Lucy Swing contacted me about reviewing this so I got it for my Kobo and it will be reviewed on Tuesday.

What I am hoping to get to this week:

This is what I have planned, what about you?

Is it really that time of the week again for another It’s Monday! What are you reading? post? I feel as though I just wrote one. Wow the week is going by really fast although I have to say that I did have one of those weeks where I thought Thursday was Friday all day. That was due to the fact that Michael had a ped day on the Monday. So it put my whole routine out of whack.

Actually this whole month has just seem to fly by.

Alot has happened since last week. We got hit with a snow storm Friday afternoon and got a ton of snow. It was crazy and yesterday when I was driving up one of the main streets coming home with Michael from his Faith First class I had to admit that it looked really pretty with all the new white fallen snow.

I was pleasantly surprised Saturday morning when I woke up extra early because Michael had a hockey practice at 7am and the drive to this arena would take 10 minutes and we knew we would have to shovel out the drive way because when we went to bed the end of the road had a huge pile of snow that was put there from the snow plows. Well low and behold we go out and discover that a neighbor plowed us out so we only had to shovel the walk way. Which was super nice of him to do that.

I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to read two books last week and they were:

I enjoyed this book and hopefully a review will be up this week.

I borrowed this from my local library the other day. I will be doing a review for this and I will either post it in March or save it for the week I am at BEA.
What I am planning on reading this week:

I will be rereading this one for Freedom to Read Week here in Canada. I loved this book ever since I read it in high school. There isn’t too many books that I reread but this is one of them.

Currently reading:

I will be on the book tour for this on March 7th.

This is what I have planned, what about you?

I am late in getting this up once again and its been busy. So many things are going on that its crazy. I have been battling a sinus thing for about a week now and its like there is no end in sight. Plus its a ped day here (no school) for Michael so we have been taking it easy doing homework and watching tv. On top of that I am in the midst of planning his 9th birthday party (wow can you believe that he is already going to be 9 years old?) both a friends one and a family one and if that wasn’t enough of a party lets through in Michael’s first communion in that mix that will be happening in May.

Plus we found out that Michael’s hockey team will be going to regionals in March and then shortly after that it will be the playoffs. So as you can see it will be a busy few months here. You have no idea how excited I am and looking forward to going to NYC in June. It will be the break I need.

Anyways enough of my morning ramblings hehe and onto this post right?

Last week I read:
So last week I have to say ended up being a pretty good reading week for me which was surprising but I think being sick might have had something to do with it. Shh don’t tell anyone.
Last week I read the following books:

Yes I finally finished this book and its only been how long? Yea I know but once I reached about half way through the book it started to pick up and I was instantly drawn in and had to finish it. I think this has been my longest read yet. I have to say I am happy I stuck with it.

I also read Death by Chocolate last week and I really enjoyed the mix of short stories and I reviewed it on Saturday as part of the tour I was on.

I was able to sneak this one into my reading pile last week and was surprised that I actually finished it as quickly as I did.

This week I think I will be reading:

Then I am not sure. I guess we will see how the week goes.
This is what I read and whats on my agenda. I hope everyone has a good reading week.

I am late in getting this up because its been very busy the last few days. It was another hockey weekend for us. Michael had two games this weekend. They won the first one 6-2 but lost the second one 4-1. The second one was especially rough because you could see the refs were playing favorites with the home team (not us) and thankfully the second period they realized they had to stop because it wasn’t fair. I think Michael found it especially hard because he was only just literally on the ice when he was pulled for a penalty. According to the ref Michael pushed the kid and I know Michael would never do that. He even said that they bumped into each other which is very typical. But you could clearly see that this team  wanted to beat us and knock us down from the number one position and they stopped at nothing to win the game. Which is sad isn’t it?

Anyways enough of my morning ramblings hehe and onto this post right?

Last week was a very slow reading week for me and that was due to the fact that I am still reading my current read which is two weeks already. Although I have taken the advice of a really good blogging friend Lucy who suggested I should perhaps put the book down for now and read something else and that is what I have done. So perhaps some time away from the book will do me good.

I am currently reading these:

I am currently on page 137 and slowly making my way through this one.

I am also reading this one on my kobo and my review will be up on Saturday because I am a part of a tour for this. I am really enjoying this. I liked the first story and now I am starting the second one.

Last week I read this:

My review will be up tomorrow for this one. I really enjoyed it.
This is what I read and whats on my agenda. I hope everyone has a good reading week.
