Blog Ahead May 2016 The Mini Edition

Blog Ahead

You might recall in the past that I have taken part in a 30 Days, 30+ Pre-Schedules Blog Ahead ( I have also taken part in the mini editions) that Anna from Herding Cats & Burning Soup hosts this fantastic event where the idea behind this was to actually have pre-scheduled blog post ready for you blog. I loved doing it and it was honestly nice knowing I had posts pre-scheduled ready and waiting for me.

I was doing extremely well with being on top of the schedule/draft posts in the past and over the last few months I have slipped and I really need to get back on track with my blog and the posting.

You can click on the above image to find out more about the Mini Blog Ahead.

I will be taking part, will you be? If you are please be sure to sign up on Anna’s blog.

Today is the first day and I am hoping since I have a few hours this morning to spare that I can sit and plug away and get some Waiting On Wednesday’s done and perhaps be a few months ahead in this. So that is my goal today and get those posts done.

Blog Ahead October 2015 Edition

blog ahead 2015

If your a regular reader of my blog you might recall me taking part in previous Blog Aheads that Anna from herding cats & burning soup created and I had so much fun doing this and it actually worked and I managed to get a whole bunch of posts done up. I see this time around Anna has another host of the blog ahead and its Caffeinated Book Reviewer which is a new to me blog.

As you can see from my blog I haven’t been blogging like I usually do and that is due to the fact that things have happened in real life that were a little bit more important then my blog but when it came back to blogging I am having a hard time to get back into the swing of things.

I am looking at building up my stash of blog post especially ones for the holiday season when I know it will be a little tough to get blog post up. It was so much fun the last time getting posts up and ready and it was nice knowing that I had extra stuff I could use if needed and that is what I want to do this time around.

So the challenge will be running from October 1st to 31st, 2015

The Goal

Build your total number of scheduled posts by 31!
On October 1st take your number of scheduled posts and add 31.
Whatever that number is…that’s your goal for the month.
You’ll end the day on Oct 31st with that many scheduled posts. Woots!
Example- If you start October with 5 scheduled posts
you end Oct with 36 scheduled posts.

Types of Posts that Count?

Any posts that you finish in October and will publish November 1st or later…count!

Meme, review, guest post, interview, discussion.
Cooking posts, pet posts, photo posts, etc.

Posts do NOT have to be book related.

Good Early morning to everyone.

You might recall last November me taking part in the 30 Days, 30+ Pre-Schedules Blog Ahead that Anna from Herding Cats & Burning Soup where the idea behind this was to actually have pre-scheduled blog post ready for you blog. I loved doing it and it was honestly nice knowing I had posts pre-scheduled ready and waiting for me.

The goal for me in the next 14 days is to actually work on having pre-scheduled posts done and the plan is:

  • to do all my Waiting On Wednesday’s post from July to September (thats 9 weekly post)
  • complete my month of May with reviews etc (I already completed the week I am in NYC for BEA in November so I just have to finish up the rest of the month)
  • prep my posts for the week I come back from NYC/BEA with a daily wrap up

Those are my goals for the next 14 days, wish me luck.

Are you taking part?

I loved doing it and it was honestly nice knowing I had posts pre-scheduled ready and waiting for me.

Since doing that I have slacked off a bit and now I am beginning to panic a little bit because I will be away from my computer the end of May to attend BEA in NYC and I don’t have alot scheduled for the month of May and honestly the summer as well. So this mini Blog Ahead is coming at the perfect time.

Recap of 30 Days, 30+ Pre-Scheduled Blog Posts

30days30+prescheduledposts

The 30 Days, 30+ Pre-Schedules Blog Ahead is wrapping up tonight at 11:59pm. This fun event was hosted by Anna from Herding Cats & Burning Soup blog. It ran from November 1st to 30th.  The idea behind this was basically for you to get ahead in your blog posts. By then end of this month you should have 30+ pre scheduled posts completely.

When I did my intro post in October

MY GOALS:

  • To prepare all my The Mailbox posts
  • To prepare all my Catch,Read and Release posts
  • To prepare my posts for the week of BEA in May 2015 (I know that its early but I plan on posting reviews of books I bought and read for that week along with some other posts)
  • To prepare my month of December/Christmas posts

What did I actually complete:

  • I will be taking part Waiting On Wednesdays and I have 5 pre scheduled post starting in January
  • I have a template made (Simple Content Templates) done for my Mailbox posts
  • I have 9 pre scheduled posts for BEA in May completed
  • For the month of December I have 17 prescheduled post complete
  • I made a template for Glossybox and Fortune Cookie Soap subscriptions
  • I have roughly 15 drafts done that I need to complete

I know I started off slow and was trying to balance making sure I was posting in November as well as pre scheduling posts. Thankfully I was able to get a bunch of posts done in the mornings and with DH being out of town I was staying up late trying to push through the last few as I will be doing tonight again. I have  another template I want to make and I want to make sure I have the two weeks of Christmas vacation done so that I am not worrying about not being able to post. Then I have to finish some of the draft posts to schedule for weekends we will be out of town for hockey tournaments.

Did you take part? How did you do?

As you can see I have fallen a bit behind in blogging with so many things happening in real life that really have taken the front burner but now I think things are calming down some I think I need to get back on track and have things done in advance like before.

I know I will still be busy with working and hockey but if I can get things done ahead of time it will all be good.

Do you plan on doing this as well?
