The Mailbox Post (May 19th – 24th)

Its hard to believe its that time of the week for another mailbox post.
The hosts of the mailbox memes are:

Tynga's Reviews

Tynga’s Reviews is the host of Stacking the Shelves and the other host is Mailbox Monday which now has its own blog.

Mailbox Monday will no longer be hosted monthly by different bloggers.

I am trying to get back on track after being MIA most of last week. Like so many other bloggers I was in a blogging funk. Hopefully that has passed.

This week it was very quiet in books as you can see I only got two books for review.

I will be on a blog tour for Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader for Kids Only very soon. Michael was really excited for this book and he can’t wait to read it.

chasing before

A huge thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada for sending me Chasing Before  (book 2 in the series) from Lenore Appelhans. I was super thrilled to have gotten this in the mail. I can’t wait to read.

I ended up buying The Memory of After (book 1 in the series) by Lenore Appelhans after I got her second book because its been awhile since I read it and I wanted to refresh my memory of the book. The original title was Level 2 and for some reason I thought I had kept the book but when I went looking for it I couldn’t find it.

Anyways thats what I got this week, what about you? Anything exciting?

  1. I hope you love Lenore’s book!

  2. I recognize Level 2, but had no idea that the name was changed. Good to know. Enjoy your books. Thank you for stopping by our SS. I look forward to getting to know you and your blog.

    • Stephanie, when I was at my local bookstore a few weeks ago I was excited because I thought it was a new book but when I was reading the back I was like I read this before and then I noticed it was the same book with a different title. You are more then welcome. I look forward to getting to know you and your blog as well

  3. I haven’t read Lenore Appelhans’ series yet, but I’ve heard it’s really good. Congrats on getting the second one from the publisher! Enjoy all your books:-)

    • I think if you like those kind of books you will enjoy the series. thanks I think I literally screamed like a kid in a candy store when I opened the package. 🙂

  4. ooo, these look interesting. love the cover contrasts. happy reading.

  5. I haven’t heard of The Memory of After series, was it originally a stand alone, then they brought out a follow up? I’m always intrigued when they change book titles, definitely going to check the series out. Happy reading and good luck with the blog tour.

    • I am not quite sure if it was suppose to be a stand alone or if it was a series. I will have to find out. The cover for level two was nice but I think this one is much nicer and it goes well with the change of titles too. I always wonder why they do that but I guess when its a debut there is more freedom to do so. Thanks for stopping by

  6. They’re all new to me I confess but I hope you’ll enjoy them. Happy reading!

  7. Books I haven’t read yet but they look great. Happy reading.

    • This is one of the reasons I love the mailbox posts. You get to discover new books or books you have that you haven’t read yet. thanks for stopping by

  8. Very nice haul, Cindy! I hope your blogging-funk will lift, so that you’ll have fun here again. It’s hard sometimes to get everything done, while still actually having fun doing it, right?
    Thanks for stopping by earlier.

    • Thanks Lexxie. I am hoping the blogging funk will lift soon. It is hard to do when it feels like a chore and I hate when I feel like this. I think its one step at a time. Thanks for stopping by

  9. The memory of After looks great! Enjoy your new reads 🙂

  10. I read my copy as Level 2, and I wasn’t that impressed if I’m honest, it was good, but maybe wasn’t just for me. Love the redesign though, and the new titles, more appropriate. 🙂

    Here’s mine

    Kirsty @ StudioReads

    • Kirsty-Marie I remember reading it when it first came out. I think it was because I was looking for something different to read. I love the new look of the books and the title so much better then Level 2 honestly. thanks for stopping by I am off to check your post.

  11. I haven’t read The Memory of After just yet, but I’ve heard some good things about it from close friends of mine. I hope you’ll enjoy re-reading it and reading the sequel too.
Enjoy your haul this week! 🙂

    Nick – My Haul

  12. Looks like a nice selection, not too overwhelming! Heh.

  13. Not heard of any of these..I hope you enjoy them! 🙂

  14. Nice haul! I hope you enjoy your new books!

    Leydy from OUAT & RCE

  15. Great haul. Thought these were all new to me this week until you said it used to be called Level 2. I’ve seen that book a lot and been tempted to read it. Now that there’s a sequel maybe I will give it a go. I hope you enjoy your books 🙂

  16. The memory sounds good, hope that you enjoy.

  17. I had no idea they had changed the title of Level 2. I guess maybe people were confused thinking it was a sequel with 2 in the title? Of course, I haven’t read it yet, but I do think I’d be more inclined to read it as The Memory of After

  18. Great selection! Happy reading!

  19. I didn’t know they changed the title of Level 2. But the new cover is super pretty!

  20. I haven’t read any of these books, but I hope that you enjoy them! Happy Reading 🙂

  21. Nice Haul!! I’m not familiar with any of these books, but I hope you enjoy them. I’m heading to BEA this weekend too and can hardly wait!! I hope you get all of the books you want.

Thanks for stopping by my STS!!

  22. Well that’s a good way to confuse people – change the title! Unless there is a movie tie-in it seems a little weird.

    • I don’t know why they changed the title but I agree a great way to confuse people. When I first say it I almost bought it because I thought it was the next book.

  23. Looks like you got books for both you and Michael. Lenore’s series look good. Enjoy them!

  24. The Bathroom Reader for Kids looks like it could be fun. I saw a few bloggers got it. Enjoy!

  25. I’d love to read Lenore’s books! Need to get to them soon. Enjoy your books!

  26. The Memory of After looks good. Enjoy your books and have a great week!

  27. Hope you enjoy! I’m always curious when they change a book’s name. I know they did that to one of Sara Zarr’s books within the past couple of years, too.

  28. The memory of after looks great! I just found your blog and I would love to follow it. Do you have an email RSS subscription?

  29. Ha! I didn’t know Uncle John’s made books for kids. Hope you enjoy your books.

  30. I really enjoyed The Memory of After, but like you I don’t really remember much! I think I’m going to buy it as well, because I got Chasing Before from Edelweiss and really want to read it!

    • I wish I could remember the book more but I think for me I have the habit of trying to forget what I just read because of the fact that we read so many books. I think had I not been a blogger I would remember it more. I am in total awe of people who can remember things about a book they read last year.

  31. OOO, I really want to read The Memory of After. I hope you enjoy the book!

  32. I love the Bathroom reader for kids. Actually it’s a great idea, unless you only have one bathroom then not so good. Great line up this week. Thank you for stopping by my STS this week!

    • I am hoping my son won’t take it in the bathroom to read or else he will never come out..thankfully we have two bathrooms in the house. Thanks for stopping by
