The Mailbox Post & Books Bought

As you know Mailbox Monday is originally hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page. Marcia has decided to put Mailbox Monday on a blog tour and for the month of February the Mailbox Monday host is Laura from Library of Clean Reads.

I got to meet Laura last year when she contacted me to read and review her book

I love the mailbox post because it allows you to get a glimpse into other bloggers mailboxes to see what they got in the mail the previous week. Its a great way to discover new books that you might not know about although it can to lead to an ever increasing wishlist.

Last week it was looking like nothing was coming in but on Friday I got two books plus thankfully I had a friend drop off some books to me as well.

-Grilled Cheese, Please!50 scrumptiously cheesy recipes by Laura Werlin (Look for my review closer to the release date in March) Thanks Andrews McMeel for this one.
-The Liberation of Alice Love by Abby McDonald Thanks Source books for this one. (Look for my review of this one in March)

These are the books that we bought for Michael this past week:
-We are in a Book! by Mo Willems (This is for the upcoming book signing)
-Geronimo Stilton #5 (Graphic Novel)The Great Ice Age
-Geronimo Stilton #6 (graphic novel)Who Stole the Mona Lisa
-Garfield in french is not pictured but we ordered this through scholastic at school

-Heist Society by Ally Carter (this was actually from the Bargain table for $6.99 hardcover)(This has been on my wishlist since it came out)
-Incarceron by Catherine Fisher
-Losing Faith by Denise Jaden
-Evernight by Claudia Gray (this was actually from the bargain table %4.99 paperback)
-Stargazer by Claudia Gray
-Hourglass by Claudia Gray (this was actually from the bargain table with a take of $5.99 hardcover)

My friend actually left the stickers on the books to show me that she didn’t pay full price plus on the sticker it said an additional 10% off. The only thing about the bargain books is that they have a black line on them at the bottom of the book which bothers me but I guess they didn’t want someone taking the cleaner looking books from the regular section and trying to put the price sticker on those.

Anyways this is what came into my house this past week, what about you?

  1. My week was light in terms of books coming in the mail too. I only got 1, that I’ll be sharing in tomorrow’s post. Your bargain books are good finds! I hope Michael enjoys his Geronimo Stilton books; they are popular with the boys. I continue to love your widget!

  2. The grilled cheese cookbook sounds great and perfect for this time of year!

  3. Cindy!! You are so kind to showcase my book again. And I love that pic of us together at Chapters.

My son just discovered Captain Underpants and has yet to discover Geronimo Stilton. We bought them at Beazley Books where Pierre was so generous with my kids. I’m anxious to see what you’ll think of Incarceron. Was this from the bargain table too?
    Enjoy all your books!

  4. Oh this looks so good! Look at all these amazing books! (I am peeking through my fingers so I do not try to go find them for myself!) 🙂

  5. Nice mix of books here. Enjoy.

  6. Great books this week Cindy; love your widget too.

  7. Evernight, Stargazer and Hourglass all in one week? Lucky lucky you! Here’s my Mailbox.

  8. Ooh, that Grilled Cheese cover made me hungry. Is it lunch time yet??? Have a great week, Cindy and happy reading!

  9. They all look good and being a Cheesehead (haha, from Wisconsin) I’m curious about Grilled Cheese, Please!

  10. Cindy, it seems like I haven’t commented on your blog in a while (but then I haven’t been blogging for a couple of weeks either)! Love that pic of you and Laura — hope I get to meet her some day too!

    Enjoy all your new books!

  11. What a fun mailbox week for you! I must agree that the Grilled Cheese book sounds amazing (one of my favorite foods)…

As for the black mark on the bottom – I find those annoying too… was just thinking that holding it tight and using a tiny bit of sand paper might just take it right off. The ink doesn’t generally bleed into the page, just on the very edge… might be worth a try!

I’m your newest follower! Happy Monday. 🙂

    Here’s my Mailbox! ~ Wendi
